We visited the Mount of the Beatitudes first thing on a Thursday morning as part of a 3 bus tour group from the U.S. It was already crowded. An outstanding pastor with our group gave a brief sermon on ‘The Sermon on the Mount’, thought...More

Fantastic views, many worshipers, pilgrim groups...great place to start a walk down to Tabgha (site of multiplication’) and on to Capernaum... mostly downhill... worth doing if you have the time... walk, think, pray as you take in vistas similar to those that Jesus and his...More

The relatively new church is built near the spot of the Sermon on the Mount.  It is peaceful with gardens and a bit of sea shore. Our Franciscan guide gathered us together outside away from the crowds and read us the scripture. He also also explained the...More

Very serene. All ages will enjoy--adults to meditate and children to learn more about the sermon on the mount.

We had visited the area and the church. Church is nice and the grounds good for photo taking. However, the actual site from which the Sermon of Jesus was given is a patch adjacent to the church. It’s a private property.

beautiful site and church, was very busy when we visited and parking a car was hard especially with a disabled person, getting around the church was quite easy and loved the silence.

The Mount of the Beatitudes is undoubtedly one of the main reasons of visiting the Galilea region. In addition to the historical and biblical significance, the church and its surroundings located on a hill above the lake convey amazing positive sensations difficult to describe.

Place known for Jesus’ sermon on the Mount. The precise place is not known, but is commentated with the 8 sided Church of Beatitudes, built on the slope. There are at least 3 different altar areas that groups may gather for mass. We had one...More

Worth the NIS10 per car to enter. Beautiful, albeit small, modern interior. Has some robes donated by Pope John Paul II inside. Nice little golden dome inside. Great views of the Sea of Galilee.

I am not sure. I was on a delegation trip with an organization and we had our own bus. I would imagine there is a bus to Tiberias or another city in the Galilee region close to the site from Haifa.
