There is a platform from which you can see the waterfall in the distance, but in order reach it you will have to walk down 500 steps (and later back up). At the bottom there is another platform from which you can take great pictures....More

As well noted, it's around 500 steps, easy hike for an active person. The rain forest and waterfall were nice, but I wouldn't say spectacular. Seen many more amazing waterfalls elsewhere. We had 2 little kids in our family who did it fine, so it's...More

The cost to go and see the Waterfall is high, but worth the money. I believe it was $16-18. After you pay you walk to an entrance where you have to walk down over 550 steps. The view at the bottom is well worth the...More

A must if you travel to Arenal or La Fortuna! Make sure you bring your bathing suit as you can swim at the bottom of the falls. If you want to see the falls from the bottom, you will have to descent (and climb back)...More

Worth the 500 steps each way! I highly recommend going to see this while in La Fortuna! There were many people swimming and wading in the river, but indeed the water was a bit chilly.

The stairway to the falls has improved greatly since my visit in 2011. Easy walk down and ok stroll back up if you take your time. It’s worth it to see and hear the falls. Few howler monkeys were in the trees during our visit.

Absolutely beautiful natural waterfall, very cheap entrance fee which includes a guard by the waterfall to ensure everyone’s safety! Lots of steps on the way back up to the top to get everyone’s hearts racing.

You don't really need a guided tour. From La Fortuna, we flagged a taxi, paid 5 dollars taxi to the entrance and paid the $30 entrance fee to enter the park. Be prepared for a fairly strenuous hike up. There are no toilet or... More
