Great hike up to the top of the hill and a beautiful view for your efforts. The road up to the summit is paved and along the walk you may see a variety of wild life. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the exercise and...More

I actually took a sunrise hike up Ancon Hill with a tour guide. My tour guide was very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and history of Ancon Hill so it was much more than just a walk up the hill. That early in the morning...More

Decent hike and excellent view offered of the city, but this shouldn't be your first choice if you're looking to see wildlife - the National Park was less physically demanding, and had more biological pay-out. It's also worth checking out Mi Pueblito if you're at...More

We left very early in the morning to do this hike so that we would time our ascent to the top with being able to watch the sun rise at the peak of the hill. The view was amazing, and we were grateful to have...More

It took about 40 minutes to walk to the top of the hill. There are several spots along the way with nice views of the city and benches to take a break. There are supposed to be sloths etc but I didn't see anything. Make...More

If anyone is staying in Panama City and wants a chance to see toucans or a sloth, take a stroll up Cerro Ancon! We weren't quite sure which road to take off Avenida Central but once we found the roundabout we saw the road straight...More

Yes, it is completely paved and shaded most of the way. It is a bit long, but an easy walk.

The climb to the top of Ancon Hill would not be closed as it's an outdoor hiking road. I would guess that the beautiful Port Authority building, as a government building, would be closed on weekends. Enjoy!
