St. Catherine's is another one of the don't miss sites for a Christian pilgrim. The Church as still decorated for Christmas and was awesome. It is a natural to visit with the Church of the Nativity and the fields where the shepherds watched over their flocks.
Well preserved in the midst of ruins - gives it an authentic & realistic atmosphere. What a thrill to visit all these historical places.
The traditional midnight mass celebrated in Bethlehem Palestine by the Latin Patriarch on Christmas Eve is held in St. Catherine's, the Roman Catholic Church next door to the Church of the Nativity. Each year the event is televised worldwide and the mass is attended by hundreds…
This church is adjacent to the Church of the Nativity. Masses are held here. There are no lines. It is directly adjacent to the Church of the Nativity. Well worth a visit.
This is a fairly modern church and well taken care of. You enter through a small pleasant courtyard. Not full of people like the Church of the Nativity so it is quiet and peaceful. Not that special as compared to the Nativity.
