Altun Ha is a great example of a Mayan Ruins area. Well preserved and maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, climbing the taller ruins and learning about the Mayan culture.

I was in Belize City and decided to go see the ruins of the Mayan. I was not disappointed. The guide gave a complete historial background of the Mayan People and it was great. Whether we were making sounds echo from a rock or pretending to be Sun gods. It was just plain fun.

As others have said, if you are in Belize City and only have 2 hours, then go see this Mayan site. It is small with only two plazas and 60% has been excavated. Probably only had a population of 3000. Be sure to spray for mosquitoes. They were the worst here of any of the six we
