While there appears to be some controversy about the baptismal site of Jesus, one possible site is Yardenit, located on the banks of the Jordan in the southern portion of the Sea of Galilee. A visit to the baptismal site is very special, and allows...More

The highlight of my pilgrimage to Israel was completed here. A life long wish has come true. A well organized event. Our Pastor came with us and Baptized us all here. This site was recommended to us and I must say it was the perfect...More

I was deeply touched by this place. It was lovely to have the opportunity to renew your baptimal promise. The Jordan River has tiny fish swimming about when you were in the water. A great atmosphere was felt at this place. I would recommend buying...More

The enthusiasm with which so many people were getting re-baptized was a joy to see.....so happy, so excited, so fulfilled. Whether this is your faith or not, the vibes here are joyous and the baptisms are fun to watch.

No, this is not the actual place where Jesus was baptized. But it is the Jordan River. Like most places along a Holy Land tour/pilgrimage there will be tourists, lots of people. But if you can focus on why you are actually there, it can...More

It was wonderful to witness several baptisms at this place. This is one of two traditional baptismal sites. It is also worth taking a walk around Yardenit.

August 2019 was my second visit to the Yardenit Baptismal Site, and during both visits I was under the impression that this was the site where John baptized Jesus. That's not the case. The original site is a few hours drive south, near the Dead...More

This is a peaceful, but busy area, with several baptisms taking place. When looking into the water at this site one would often see a catfish swimming about. If your feet are in the water you can also often feel tiny fish nibbling at your...More

You need to get a baptizer in advance, as most of the time there isn't one there.

Klara1969, I believe that there is someone there who is employed by Yardinit to baptize you. However, if they don't, you can just ask one of the other groups if their pastor will baptize you. It is one of the highlights of... More
