There's so much to see here that it could take all day, but the parts I enjoy the most cover the early history of Scotland from the neolithic to Industrial Age.
Excellent museum, plenty to see and do there. It's free to get in and perfect for a wet and windy day
We visited because of heavy rain in Edinburgh. What a good decision, there is everything to see for all ages. We joined a guided tour, one of 3 in the day. The Millenium Clock caught the eye and after a pleasant lunch on the 3rd floor restaurant (there are 2 others) we did our own…
The exhibits tell the natural, industrial, and cultural history of Scotland. The place is huge. It will take you more than a couple of hours to do it justice. I left happy, exhausted and looking for a pint of refreshment.
Lots of things to see from Animals to Egyptian Mummies, a great day well spent, also there is a small cafeteria just in case you want to sit down for a coffee. Worth a visit because it's fun for all the family and it is also free but donations are welcome. GREAT !
