This is such a beautiful area, the architecture is amazing with its authentic cobbled streets. There are tunnels and vaults underneath you although you’d never know, steeped in history its well worth doing an underground tunnel tour

Location, location, location! I am so glad I took my brother in law’s advice to stay in the Royal Mile. We booked a delightful apartment called Destiny Scotland Royal Mile. Walk everywhere. Busses run all the time.

Its a very pleasant walk with quirky pubs, cafe`s and shops untill you get within 200 yards of castle then its wool shop city. Catle is amazing with breath taking views over the city and out to the coast.
