Be sure to bring photos IDs, even for your kids. We drove all the way there only to be turned away at the gate because we didn't have photos IDs with us of our kids. We had printout QR codes of our park passes that we had bought online as recommended but we needed to also have photo IDs to prove that those QR codes and names were actually us. It seems very unreasonable to be accused of faking or stealing the park passes. There's abundant advice to leave all valuables in your hotel so we didn't bring the passports of our kids. The park attendant wasn't very nice and said we should have brought photocopies of our passports. Well, thanks for nothing National Park folks.

It was definitely worth the drive out there. We took the short road going out cut an hour off the trip. Make sure to pack a lunch and drinks. Nice beach and the cliff jump is a must do.

If you go to the park, make sure you make it to this point. It is beautiful beyond words. This was my favorite part, the waters of Bonaire are like nothing I've ever seen and they really shine at this location. The wave action is incredible and it's fun to watch the huge splash as they hit the base of the rocks. A must see!

Our family stopped here to swim while sightseeing in Washington Slagbaai National Park. It was beautiful. The water was clear and it wasn’t crowded. There were flamingos to see on the other side of the building. Gorgeous place.

Wind day on the water so decided to go see the island. The island is small but you can find a 4 hour drive and site see the north side of the island. These is a mapped out drive with stops to see and learn the history of the island.

We took the short route (3 hours) since we got to the park around noon. Start early if you want to see all the sights. It is a dirt road through the desert with no services so be prepared. Bring water and snacks or a picnic lunch. We snorkeled and saw the biggest rainbow parrot fish! The jump off the cliff at Boca Slagbaai was exhilarating. It is much higher than it appears from the beach at about 35 feet. We saw lots of lizards, birds, goats and donkeys. I don't know how they survive in the forest of cacti. One poor goat had a cactus attached to his forehead. If I were to do it again I would pack a cooler and hit the park early.

We read the reviews and won't repeat what others have said. Overall, we were a bit disappointed. Maybe it was the time of year, but we saw much less wildlife than we had hoped. Saw some Birds, Goats, and lots of Iguanas. Other than that, mostly underbrush and a lot of Cacti.
It was a long drive (took the long road) and overall it was a disappointment versus our high expectations.

This Boca is one of many that you'll see in the Washington Slagbaai Park. Although they refer to the particular boca as a blowhole, it's actually just a cave in the boca. Still very pretty and interesting. As you go through the park, you'll have the opportunity to snorkel a few of these locations. If planning to do so, start early as you need to be out of the park by 5. Also recommend fins with booties due to the rocky terrain that you'll encounter at most sites. And take plenty of water, really, as there are no services available once you enter the park.

My family took a day off diving to visit the park and had an excellent time. Who cares if the roads are rough? There is so much to see--birds, donkeys, goats, lizards of all sorts. We even got lucky enough to watch a couple of sea turtles feeding in the waters off the shore of the beach. I wouldn't trade this adventure for anything. The diving in Bonaire is top notch, but there is plenty of fun to do on land, too.
