The temperatures were pushing 40C, but the mountain wind made it still pleasant. The place makes you understand the recent history of the Golan and its strategic importance. There are preserved bunkers/trenches to explore. It's thought provoking to look out onto both Syria and Israel...More

We go by car to Mount Bental via Qatsrin - buying some wine - you have a great view to the Hermon. Was there 2 times now, but not the last time!

Our tour guide took us to Golan Heights to the Godat Lookout. There's a gorgeous view of the valley. And you can understand why it's an important area to protect the kibbutzes and fields below.

We drive through the old volcano caldera (now a large vineyard) on the way up to the top of Mount Bental. Now has a cafe, some metal artwork and great views north to the mountains and east into Syria. Definitely worth an hour to check...More
