- dede7280Altoona, Pennsylvania34 contributionsDisappointedWe visited this shopping center because the website makes it look like shops, entertainment and food are available. Many of the shops were missing, coming soon or not open. We went at noon and there was no entertainment and ice cream was the only food available. The shops that were open were more touristy type shops for souvenirs, not authentic Jamaican made items. We walked every shop and the property in less than an hour and that was taking our time browsing.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 June 2023
- MightyVikingGirlFort Wayne, Indiana32 contributionsNice gated shopping centerSome nice shops, several empty storefronts. Only a coffee shop for food/drink, at the time we were there. Several jewelry stores, a cool liquor store (sample the mango rum cream) and 1 local craft stand was set up.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 September 2023
- Robert J1 contributionBobby’s visit to Main StreetFrom the moment you drive into the property you are welcomed by security guards. The front desk staff is friendly and inviting to the location. We were invited by a locally known DJ to pull up and catch the vibes while he was spinning at Cooyah, a local Jamaican clothing brand. From there we went to The Rum Yard for several tastings of some local rums. The staff is very friendly, well knowledgeable of their products, and great mixologists. From exquisite and sexy bottles to the massive Emperor bottles, The Rum Yard has everything you need to enjoy a drink in Jamaica. The overall location is stunning, from a gigantic water wheel, wall art, local jewelry, food, ice cream and various other shops at their location. We will visit again!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 September 2023

- Rich F1 contributionGreat place but watch out for Caribbean HutCute little place for shopping but stay away from Caribbean Hub. Woman is nasty and charging 3 times as much as the great shop next door, Jamaican Selection Gift Shop. - andycoldhamCrawley, United Kingdom908 contributionsNot ImpressiveThis shopping street was created for the cruise ship trade and consists of about 30 shops selling designer wear and tourist tat. There are some impressive murals to be seen and a giant waterwheel in a pleasant garden at the end of the street but unless you are a serious browser the whole street can be visited in 30.mins. We only went as our hotel offered a free shuttle, but there are certainly no bargains to be had and personally I would pay a taxi to take me.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 January 2024

I am at The Perfume Shop to buy a friend a cologne he had been searching for for months. The woman in the store followed me so closely that I could not concentrate. I asked her to give me some breathing room and she stepped back 1/8 inch. I told her I could not shop with someone standing so close to me. She still stood there! They had the cologne for the excellent price of $88. I left without it.

Beautiful little shopping center. People are so nice and happy to help. My best friend and I got our hair braided by a local at the very end by the water wheel. Great prices too.

The hotels shuttle people for free to this tourist trap. Like a Disney version of a mall. Street with shops full of tourist merchandise at very expensive prices. We stupidly thought we were being taken to the actual local mall. It was amusing to see, but literally only go for the comedy value - not for a real shopping experience.

Are prices fixed, or is it worth bargaining?
I7002ZUinfo
Montego Bay, Jamaica
Good day,
Many brands are fixed but at Duty Free prices, so they are 15%-30% lower than the US pricing and there is no tax. The jewelery is not fixed but stores declare a discount in advance with some leeway to bargain.
The souvenir store prices are competitive and depending on the amount purchase they may offer a small discount.
