- NorthStar153328783750 contributionsYes to the Fireflies, No to the tourThe fireflies were nice to see (not as specacular as in the pictures), the boat ride was fun. However, I had some issues: 1) Price: The value for money on this one was just not good for me (note: booking via tripadvisor one day in advance the tour was around 350MYR for me!). Taking a grab from KL there and back would have been cheaper in total. They ask for 50MYR for the tour on site. 2) Even though it was so expensive, the "blue tears" experience had to be purchased extra for 50MYR. 3) The food. You can book this tour without the food for quite some money less. I highly recommend to NOT book the food, it is very average and way to expensive for it (was over 100MYR for me!). Also, our driver was also our guide, however there was not much information. He was very nice, but I would have liked a little more information about the river, the area and so on. For this price having a dedicated guide seems reasonable. All in all an average experience, I would book with another (cheaper) company.Written 17 March 2024

- MarkMyWords670 contributionsNot sure it's worth the effort of goingWe visited Melaka in middle of March 2024 which happened to be the first week of Ramadan. We caught a coach from TBS in KL and it took around 2 hrs and cost around MYR 50 for 2 people return - approx £5 each. The tourist bit of Melaka is a very tiny bit of the whole Melaka city - which is quite big and just like any other modern Malaysian city. The old tourist area is a very very small area and you can easily do the main bits in half a day - it's is a pure tourist spot. Being Ramadan, the majority of tourists we saw were non-muslim and we're about 99% Chinese. Most tourists seemed to be brought in by coach so quite literally swamped the place from around 9am to 5pm - the place is packed with big groups who take over the place and are very noisy . Getting a nice photo without loads of people is impossible - no idea how the travel books/website do it. The main sites in Melaka are all close together and typically for Malaysia could be presented better - in my view it's not that great a place and personally I wasn't a fan but it's a 'tick box' place to visit. As it was Ramadan, many restaurants were closed due to lack of business - the coach loads either didn't eat in Melaka or seemed to eat at one big restaurant ( where the coach companies had a deal ?). There may be more choice at other times. It's not a pretty city really, and although the tourist books tell you about places to get 'great' views, we couldn't find one - all you can see is a sprawling modern city that isn't that pretty Overall I'd say Melaka is massively over-hyped and the tourist books make it seem far more attractive than it really is. It is only a short drive from KL (80 miles approx) and cheap to get to, so worth a short visit. Really don't recommend anything more than an overnight stay otherwise you will end up with nothing to do.Written 16 March 2024
- faisalk9130 contributionsEnchanting Evenings at iCity: A Family AdventureOur visit to iCity Theme Park, with its dazzling digital lights, was a fantastic experience. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the rides, and the staff were notably helpful and kind. The park left us with positive feelings, and we're looking forward to visiting again.Written 16 March 2024
- Od10 contributionsTwinkling Fire Flies and Cute MonkeysOur driver guide Rajan was excellent, informative and friendly, excellent vehicle, safe and comfortable. Fair value for tour. Option to do eagle feeding out in the boat, 50RP, before the firefly trip, and blue plankton on the sand trip, after the fire flies, where the ocean meets the river, also 50RP. All 4 on our tour declined, I guess that you would have to wait if some went, if you choose the share option in the first place, but there is a restaurant where u can wait. The boat is basic, one engine, fits about 30 people, so others join you for this part of the tour. I loved the fireflies and was very happy, but others in my group were disappointed, I guess it depends upon what u expect! I saw the odd one, then groups of five, then a few groups of about twenty or more, all flashing very bright. Great what a little bug can do! Meal was fine, nothing to sing home about, but good and plenty. Monkeys were georgous, seemed gentle and not scarey, but beware of feeding them if u dont want to be jumped on!Written 15 March 2024
- artemp2650 contributionsGood trip for one time visitingHey, buddies. What to share my experience with this trip. 1. Overall trip was really nice. Drive is super kind and vibe was cute and comfortable. Places were pretty simple, but local and interesting. 2. But, it turns out that the information in the description is rather incomplete. Keep in mind that you will be asked for an additional 50RM if you go to see the blue ties (and you won't have much choice), and also if you go to feed the eagles (but it's understandable). It is not in the description and you need be care about it and clarify with your company before start. Enjoy your trip and take careWritten 11 March 2024

- Brett L0 contributionsMediocre trip for the time poor.Just do it yourself, this is a 'dive to' experience and from this trip the Batu caves and waterfalls were excellent, everything else was forgettable, unfortunately. The driver was a nice chap but I feel like I spent double what the tour was worth and sadly would only recommend it if you're cashed up and lazy 3/5. Sorry.Written 11 March 2024
- W4892XKelenaa0 contributionsGreat serviceThe ride was very smoothly and fast Albinhar was very kind by waiting extra hours since my flight got delayed the company itself very communicate and also had my name and the signed written very easy to find them and very kind in waitingWritten 10 March 2024
- JackieH4760 contributionsDay out to MalaccaOur driver Rajan was great - very informative and funny with his information. Gave us great commentary about all sorts of different aspects of Malaysia. Gave us plenty of opportunities to take photos, stop for comfort breaks if necessary. Asked us if we were happy with what we were seeing, the pace we were going and gave us free time to explore too. Our lunch was good, local Malaysian food - all fresh and tasty. Transport was very comfortable and cool - good for the long trip. We enjoyed our day - would recommend.Written 9 March 2024
- ashleylG3451LO0 contributionsEvening tour of KLThe tour was wonderful, my driver/guide Al was engaging and shared interesting facts about the stops and the history of Malaysia. Getting to see KL at night was fantastic and very different from during the day.Written 8 March 2024
- Jet523988425230 contributionsAn interesting eco-experience.It was well worth the visit, with a 20 minute stop at a beach accessible only by boat. It was depressing though to see the waste such as pastic bottles and detritus left by other visitors, as well as flotsam. the veiegation above the level of the mangroves was depressingly stressed by the lack of water (no rain since October) - global warming? The Sea Eagles performed for us and we met the monkeys and visited the bat cave; the lunch provided was simple but what one needed. The lack of obvious bird activity may have been a function of the time of day or perhaps the very arid conditions. The fish ecosystems seemed however to be teaming. Be prepared to pay to use the loos shoreside.Written 7 March 2024
- IlovebelizeCA0 contributionsTake Time To Visit The Butterfly ParkTake time to visit the Butterfly Park while in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the variety of butterflies in the middle of the city. They have created a rainforest habitat with a maze of footpaths winding through lush vegetation, across bridges over koi ponds, past waterfalls, gazebos and turtle ponds. They also had a collection of beetles, stick insects and other insects, millipedes, etc. that we checked as well.Written 7 March 2024
