About
Living a rich life is about experiences, not stuff – our spectacular backyard is full of adventure and we want to share it with you. Get out of your comfort zone and be rewarded as we conquer the highest waterfall cable climb in the world together. Our beginner climb involves approximately 1-hr of climbing and 4 bridge crossings. Our Via ferrata tour is perfect for those who love the outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. This tour is suitable for beginners, families and hesitant adventurers with basic fitness. No experience required. Your tour starts at the waterfall where your friendly guide will fit your safety gear and teach you how to use the equipment before starting the climb. You will be climbing on steel ladder rungs and crossing wire bridges to finish at a beautiful picnic spot. We then walk down a mountain trail and back to the base.   If you are more adventurous and are looking to explore more in this incredible vertical world, we recommend our intermediate climb.

Looks great in photos - even better in person!
Apr 2021
AMAZING! Our group of five locals - three adults, two 9yr old girls - had an incredible day over the Easter break thanks to the team at Wildwire. We'd always seen the stunning advert before movies at Cinema Paradiso, and we booked the trip as soon as the kids were old enough. The whole experience was even better than our wildest dreams. The staff were friendly and approachable while always keeping things calm and organised. Safefy was paramount, with fun a close second. We had plenty of photo ops along the way as the views got better and better - both in towards the waterfall and out towards the lake. We all want to come back to go even higher; the kids will have to wait a few years but the grownups might come back much sooner. Guide Frank was top-notch.

Can You Do It? Yes You Can!
I was really nervous about this wondering if my fitness, and knees were up to it now I am in my fifties. Frank, our guide was wonderful with helpful suggestions, reminders and chatting away to me.
All the gear makes it extremely safe and doable even for this unfit shortie.
The views were gorgeous.
So proud of my achievement!

Great fun
We loved our level 1 climb and if we’d had more time would have upgraded to the next level like most of our group did on the day.
You have time to practice the skills needed before setting off and the guides are really clear in their explanations and happy to go at whatever pace the group needs.
The setting is beautiful and they take health and safety very seriously so you always feel totally safe.

Great fun, great views
Nov 2020
This was a great climbing experience, the views were breathtaking and it was a fun climb. The option to go higher was there which we would have done if we didn't need to get back for the babysitter!
The waterfall is stunning and the guides let you go at the pace that is comfortable for you. Highly recommended.

Fabulous experience for those with a touch of adventure in their DNA
Oct 2020
For someone that is scared of heights but adventurous, this was a fabulous experience. Kevin and I are in our late 50's and thought if we don't do it now...Wild Wire was the highlight of our 10 day South Island adventure trip. Connie was a fabulous guide/host. We felt well guided and safe and only a little out of our comfort zone. We dive, ski, canoe... Highly recommended.

It was a great climbing experience and the staff were very nice and always there to help you on hard parts. I’m only 9 and I would do that all over again. It was a bit scary at the start but it gets better and you get the hang of it
