New Orleans Cocktail History Walking Tour in the French Quarter
From US$70.00
Overview
Bypass the tourist traps of Bourbon Street on this tour of authentic New Orleans bars. Visit four local-approved French Quarter venues—cocktail included at each—while hearing quirky alcohol-related tales from New Orleans' history. From pharmaceutical cocktails to “absinthism,” learn how the Big Easy has always let the good times roll.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a cocktail in the intimate courtyard of Evangeline restaurant and bar—the venue specializes in Southern classics such as the French 75 and Mint Julep.
Continue to a bar favorited by locals for a twist on the classic Sazerac, a recipe attributed to a 19th-century Creole apothecary. At the next stop, Bourbon ‘O’ Bar, choose from a selection of craft beer or pay homage to New Orleans’ last French mayor by ordering the signature Roffignac cocktail, an obscure yet beloved classic.
Your tour concludes at Tujague’s, one of the oldest authentic Creole restaurants in New Orleans and birthplace of the sweet and minty Grasshopper.
Throughout this cocktail history tour, learn about the obscure history of alcohol in New Orleans from your guide.

We started off our visit with the cocktail walking tour and were fortunate to only have 4 people (plus our guide, Ben) on our tour. Loved everything about this tour: the history of the drinks and the area, the actual drinks we wouldn't have tried...More

Amazing tour with an excellent guide!

We were lucky enough that my husband and I were the only guests on the tour. Four stops and four drinks are included, but because we essentially had a private tour, we were able to not only sample some appetizers, we also had our guide...More

you walk between bars, the longest stretch between bars being about 5 blocks. If that’s ok, I suggest taking the tour! It’s great.
