Explore Louisiana’s beautiful and mysterious bayous on this covered boat tour departing from New Orleans. You’ll visit secluded Mississippi River swamps—keep an eye out for alligators and other wildlife—with a guide who’s familiar with the area and its Cajun culture. Included round-trip transportation from the French Quarter saves you time and money.
  • Travel deep into the Louisiana swamps with a guide
  • Safely search for alligators under the guide’s supervision
  • Stay dry in rainy weather with a covered boat
  • Convenient round-trip transportation from the French Quarter included
  • Choose from multiple departure times to fit your schedule
What to Expect
Your tour starts with pickup in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Relax on the bus ride out to the bayous, leaving the navigation and driving to someone else. Once you reach the area, board a covered boat with your guide, and take to the swampy waters. Listen as your guide informs you about the area’s history and ecology, and get the opportunity to spot alligators and other wildlife native to the bayous.  Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year. Learn about the local culture, such as the origin of gumbo, and how the area’s residents work hard to guarantee the survival of the wetlands. Snap pictures of the swamps to take home, and gain a better understanding of this beautiful, often-misunderstood area. Your tour ends with a drive back to the French Quarter.

Nothing like promised. There was no way to enjoy it through the horrible noice comming from the air botas. Worst of all the guide pulling out a poor baby alligator and handing it around for every one to hold and take photographs of. To use animals like that is appaling. The

Really a good tour, but it runs closer to 3 or 3.5 hours, including transportation from New Orleans. We even saw an alligator in the wild, and the boat driver had a baby alligator that we could hold.
