1-Hour Winter Dog Mushing and Sledding in Fairbanks

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Enjoy the power of a team of happy hounds pulling you through a magical winter landscape. Pose for pictures in the beautiful snowy scenery. Learn about the ever popular sport and what it takes to lead a team of dogs. Then warm up in a cozy cabin at the end of your 1-hour dog mush.
  • Enjoy a dogsled ride on a half-day tour from Fairbanks
  • Learn about dog mushing in the present and past
  • Ride across the snowy terrain on a sled pulled by pups
  • Treat your dog-loving friends and family to an unforgettable experience
What to Expect
After pickup from your Fairbanks hotel, transfer to the dog-mushing base where you can get ready in a warm cabin. Today, dog mushing is primarily for sport and hobby, but it was once the only transportation available in the snowy wilderness of Alaska. Meet your guide and the dogs, and get bundled up in your cold-weather gear. Then take a seat in the dog sled and watch as the canine athletes work to pull your sled across the snow. Observe the dogs running through Alaska’s snow-covered landscape on this exhilarating ride. You can even take the reins for the chance to steer the sled. After your ride, you can visit the kennel to pet some off-duty pups, then warm up in the cabin before return transfer to your hotel.

I don't know about this tour specifically, but there are dog sledding tours in summer. They are on wheels, not snow, because, well, it's not snowing in summer. We did one several years ago and loved it.
