What to Expect
Meet your guide at the corner of Ninth and South streets to start your South Philly walking tour. Explore Philadelphia’s charming Bella Vista neighborhood and peruse the delis, bakeries, and food stalls at the 9th Street Italian Market, the nation’s oldest open-air market. Catch your first glimpse of local artist Isaiah Zagar’s murals and recreate a scene from the blockbuster film Rocky. Then skip the ticket line at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and spend about half an hour exploring the indoor galleries and outdoor mosaic art installation. Learn more about Zagar’s one-of-a-kind mosaics and hear stories about the city’s history. Next hop on a public bus and ride to the historic Queen Village neighborhood. Wander among narrow city blocks lined with pubs and cafes, and stroll past Fabric Row to see the city’s largest concentration of fabric shops.
