    Best Walking Food Tour!
Fantastic tour lead by Emmeline! Had a blast trying all the awesome food and getting a historical tour of the area. Emmeline was a joy to have as our guide and would want to take more tours with her.

    Eat around Greenwich Village
Ian is a fabulous tour guide. We ate and listened to fun and historical facts all through Greenwich Village. We had an artichoke pizza that I never would have had if not for this tour. It was delicious. Just such a beautiful part of New York. Washington Park is so beautiful. Will def do another tour with this company when we come back to New York

    Wonderful time.
We really enjoyed our walking and food tour with Ian. We learned a lot about the area and the history or Greenwich. The food tastings were very good and no one went hungry.

    Another great tour with Emmeline!
I hadn’t visited Astoria yet, so what better way to get to know a new neighborhood than a food tour. As far as I know, Nice Guys is the only company offering a food tour of Astoria. Having already done a tour with them (Lower East Side), booking this tour was an easy decision. The Astoria tour was a great introduction to foods and cuisines I had never tried before and I’m looking forward to having them again. If you’ve done the traditional NYC food tour already (pizza, bagel, etc.) and want something different, this is a great tour.

Great tour by Ian. Highly recommend! Six food stops over three hours, but it went by quick. Not a lot of walking, so anyone can do it. Good history of the West Village.

Just awesome. Dante took my group of 50 students and 5 chaperones out on an awesome tour of Greenwich Village. It was one of the highlights of the trip and was the bar other tours were compared to for our group. In fact, myself and the other chaperones agreed we might have to do this tour last next time because it made it hard to enjoy other tours as much. Dante and his crew had the right personality, patience and humor to entertain and inform my large group teenagers for the three hours of the tour. The insight and wit they provided along with their appreciation for the history of New York and its food made it truly memorable. Students felt such a connection many asked for photos with him at the end of the tour. If you are going to New York you MUST sign up for this tour with Dante, you will not be disappointed. I plan on using him even with family visits to New York. No matter the size, the make up of the group, the tour will be fantastic.

Dante has an effervescent personality without being overwhelming or "too much." His tour was informative, highlighting historical developments of the neighborhood and the background behind the places we visited. The portions of the food samplings were just right, and Dante had everything lined up when we arrived at each location. It was well put-together.

Pur November 2021, Lower East Side Tour was well paced and arranged so that our small group could easily walk from restaurant to restaurant. Dante is an excellent guide. He makes sure that each person on the tour has a great experience. He gives you information on the restaurant, why specific food items are popular, and also the background to the food and culture. No to mention the food selections are delicious and ample. My husband and I met Dante on our first tour with him to Greenwich. That tour is also excellent and well worth your time. Dante is personable and just a lot of fun. If he offered a third tour, we would take it. Nice Guy Tours is a hidden treasure for those wanting to explore New York as a New Yorker.

I highly recommend this tour if you want to visit authentic, tasty, historic, famous and some hidden gems of restaurants and eateries in the Lower East Side.

My wife and I enjoyed every stop. The food started off great and only got better as the tour went along. Highlights include the pastrami from Katz deli and Vanessa’s dumplings.

You could go to these iconic and yummy places on your own, but you would miss the camaraderie of your fellow tourists and the insightful, funny, and friendly tour guide Dante.

Dante takes care of everything. All the food is already paid for and Dante is able to cut long lines to get the samples for the tour group making the experience hassle free and VIP.

Dante’s friendly banter with the the vendors and merchants was part of the fun. Also the food and locations are very photogenic, so don’t forget your camera.

The portions are perfect so you feel satisfied without feeling stuffed at the end of the tour. You could feel stuffed if you take advantage of all the second helpings Dante offers along the way.

It is a walking tour, but Dante paces the destinations out perfectly with hilarious stories and fascinating history lessons in between the stops.

This tour was definitely a highlight of our NYC vacation and I would highly recommend it to family and friends. I am eager to take his other food tour next time in NYC.

Dante was very knowledgeable, and friendly. He made the guests feel comfortable and addressed everyone by name, minutes after the tour started.
Between the funny stories, the history of the buildings, the sampling of delicious food and the jokes he cracked, I had a great time!
I highly recommend this tour!

Dante was the favorite part of the tour --his knowledge of the area, history and ins and outs of the community made it like we were part of NYC. When we walked into the restaurants, the owners made us feel like locals and were very welcoming. The food was super tasty and we did not leave hungry! For people who have never been on a food tour, I highly recommend this as it is a great way to combine a walking tour with history and sightseeing, and education of the area as well as information of the people and culture of the locals and food culture. Once you've done one food tour you will seek out others. Our favorite place was Katz's Deli, Vanessa's Dumpling House and The Pickle Guys. We also learned was a bialy is. Suggest to take a water bottle to stay hydrated, we went in April 2021 and there were 8 in our group.

Dante has an engaging personality and a palpable joy as a tour leader. Lots of fun stories about the areas we saw. Food sampling was delicious and he accommodated those of us with "special: palates.
It was obvious he is genuinely liked by the store owners as well, and it didn't seem at all related to bringing them business.

Highly recommend this fun tour And suggest you allow time afterwards to return to your favorite places or peruse the Lower East Side even more.

Thanks Dante!

My husband and I were lucky enough to be the only two on a Wednesday morning tour and we had a blast. Dante was a riot, and a true New Yorker who knew all the ins and outs about foodie spots. All of the food was delicious, and we visited spots and general areas I never would’ve known to visit if it wasn’t for this tour. We learned a bit about history, got our steps in and tried great food at places we will definitely be revisiting when we head back to the city. The doughnuts were probably our favorite with the bagels coming in close second. Or maybe Katz’s was our favorite... can’t make up our minds! A big thank you to Dante for being so kind, funny and accommodating! We will be back for his Greenwich tour next.

Dante was an excellent guide, very personal, very smooth filling in all the gaps in a conversation, and helping disparate groups of people feel like a single cohort. He dealt with each situation with grace and humor, even when tripping over a very sneaky piece of luggage, managing to save 3/4 of Vanessa's dumplings on a tray! (You will have to ask him about it). The places we visited were very charming, and the food was excellent! You come away very full, and a firm appreciation of the food variety available in NYC.

Tour was better than expected. David was very personable, passionate and knowledgeable about the city and the link to the different types of food and their cultures. Don't hesitate to ask questions about other areas as well. He was more than helpful guiding us to other great areas for the balance of our stay. Would highly recommend this if you love food and want to learn more about this area and NYC in general.
