This ain't your Grandma's museum tour! In two hours, explore the often-overlooked, most scandalous, most amazing objects in the Met's massive collection. This Met Un-Highlights Tour departs at 2:30pm
From US$69.00

Get a different take on New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art during this fast-paced, interactive, “renegade” tour that’s far from an ordinary museum tour. Focused on the weirdest and most scandalous artwork and accompanied by insider secrets and behind-the-scenes information, this guided tour isn't recommended for participants under 16 years of age. Plus, skip-the-line access means you'll save valuable vacation time.

What to Expect

Make your way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to meet your guide and group. Move past the crowds and enjoy skip-the-line admission with your guide in the lead.

Put aside any idea about stuffy museum tours as you enter this huge, hallowed art institution for a most unconventional tour. Expect your guide to focus on the strangest and most scandalous works of art as you move through the galleries.

Your guide customizes this tour based on your small group's interests, with no two tours ever the same. This tour goes beyond straight art history to tell the juicy backstories of the artists and the art itself. You'll play games, participate in quizzes, and find spots to take the best social media-worthy photos.

Booking this popular tour ahead of time ensures that you'll avoid disappointment in the case of a sold-out day.

My fault, mea culpa. The tour started without us and we connected about halfway through. We did have trouble communicating with the administrative staff trying to find out where to meet the tour. What we saw of the tour was ok. Not great, just ok....More

There is an Egyptian statue in the Great Hall. Right in the entry. That is where they meet you. They will have a sign.
