Overview
A visit to Alcatraz, one of San Francisco’s most popular attractions, can require planning far in advance. Combine your trip to the island prison with a hop-on hop-off San Francisco bus tour, which includes an admission ticket to Alcatraz and a round-trip ferry ride. The bus route features 24 stops, which you can explore at your own pace, and you can choose from a 24- or 48-hour pass option.
What to Expect
Jump aboard the bus at any of the 24 stops along the route, hopping off at any sites that pique your interest. You’ll see city highlights including Embarcadero Center, Japantown, Lombard Street, Union Square, the Golden Gate Bridge, Haight-Ashbury, Pier 39, Chinatown, and North Beach. Hear fascinating commentary about each spot along the way.

Your pass also includes two walking tours, option to buy 1 hour get 1 hour free bike rental (only available with the 48-hour pass), and an admission ticket to Alcatraz with round-trip ferry access from Pier 33. You can also take an audio tour of the prison before catching the ferry back to San Francisco.

Note: 48-hour tickets must be used for consecutive days.

City tour

The guides can vary In style and quality. The bus times can be very inconsistent. Good way to get around town.

Convenient but inconsistent service

The night tour runs every night so no problem there. No places are reserved. They tell you what time to be there so just get there early so you aren't last in the queue.
