I wanted to do something special with my daughter on her birthday. I was visiting her during her first away-from-home job in the PNW. I always value experiences over things, and this trip fit the bill. When she suggested it a week before, I was a bit nervous, as I had never done this before...and I am 54 and a plus-sized woman. However, Scott and the guides were true professionals and made sure they answered all my questions, even before I had a chance to ask them. Sharing this experience with my baby was everything! It was exciting and beautiful and fun, fun, fun! I can't stop talking about it almost two weeks later. One thing I would recommend is to hydrate beforehand because they don't bring water on the raft for the customers.

We had the most amazing time rafting with these guys. The guides are great, insightful and a lot of fun, and just all around good people. They knew a lot about the river and the natural environment and the history and were great at answering any questions. Excellent and professional tour guide, was a ton of fun to see the river. Lunch was a delicious bonus as well - bbq wraps and salad.

Our guide was the best. He knew so much about the river and history of the land. The ride was fast paced and fun for our whole family with teenagers plus a Grandmother. The rapids were exciting and we got great photos. We loved jumping off the rock cliff and the beautiful surroundings. So happy we did the full day. The second part of the day is not to miss!

Great opportunity to advance one’s kayaking skills, while working closely with experts. Excellent instruction, incredible experience. Pushed myself and reaped rewards. Would recommend to a paddler who feels confident in class 3 water. Prepare to be challenged, Mary and Naomi are incredible teachers and super nice people. No regrets. I've been rafting with these guys for 3 years now and it's always a blast. We went for the half day on the White Salmon the first year and had a blast. Did the full day last year and this year and it was even better. Our guide was Tom the first two years and Henry this year, and they are both incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. These guys know what they're doing; the prioritize safety; and they keep everything fun, funny, and lighthearted. Husum falls is a phenomenal experience that might be very scary and seemingly dangerous with amateurs, but these guys make it seem like a cake walk. I also had the opportunity to jump a couple of cliffs as well, which was great. I highly recommend a trip on the White Salmon with Portland Rafting Company.

The full day trip (as opposed to half day) is highly recommended. The second part of the day includes a really good lunch and a trip down part of the river which is spectacular and less-traveled... we pretty much had the river to ourselves on that portion of the journey. The whole thing was magnificent. Derek and Tom were our guides - Derek in the raft and Tom alongside in his kayak. They are super knowledgeable, resourceful, thoughtful, kind, and funny. All of our dealings with the company were impeccable and the river and scenery were amazing. We have done a LOT of these river rafting trips in various locations. This was by far the best - it was the most exciting and beautiful scenery and the guides were the best ever. Highly recommended!!!!!

We took our two teenagers and had a ball! First time white water rafting for all four of us. They supply all necessary gear and gave a 20 min safety lesson before we left. There was another guy who took awesome photos from strategic locations on the bank as we made our way down the river. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the River itself and the history of the area so we were in good hands and we learned something! 2.5 hours was perfect. The price was right too. Definitely do this trip!

Soo much fun! We had a great time and would love to do it again. Natasha was a great guide and was very detailed in giving us information about the river.

My family and I were set up with Patrick, he is an amazing guide. Tons of info while river rafting, and you can definitely tell the whole team is really passionate about what they do. I highly recommend this experience, you won’t be disappointed!

What a great experience! The river was beautiful as well as the weather for our full day rafting trip. The whole group at Portland Rafting Co. made this a truely memorable experience. Our guide Andrew was especially awesome as he shared experiences with us during the day and guided us safely through our adventure. He went up and above as he helped us with one of the members of our group through the portion across treacherous terrain as we went around the falls and reboarded the raft. Andrew we can't thank you enough. Thanks y'all for the memorable day and we will definitely look forward to doing this with PDX Rafting Co. again later this summer!

White Water rafting on the White Salmon River was an epic adventure. PDX Rafting made it fun, safe and exciting. We had a party of 10 that ranged from 50 to 70 years old. They gave us clear instructions that told us what we needed but gave us confidence we were being taken care of by the best in the business. Our guides, Andrew and Derrick were both amazing. They were patient, friendly and competent. It gives you confidence when your guide (Andrew) has hundreds of trips down the White Salmon river each year for the last 9 years. The water was incredible! The river captivated you with fun rapids and beautiful narrow canyons. PDX Rafting supplied everything we needed - wet suits, booties, helmets, jackets and a great lunch! Scott patiently answered all our questions in advance. He even arranged a special lunch for my wife who is GF and DF. I have done white water raft trips on the Arkansas in Colorado and on the Snake river in Wyoming. This trip topped them all. We cannot wait to do it again. Just a little over 1 hour from Portland and less than 10 min from Hood River. I highly recommend PDX Rafting on the White Salmon River. You will not be disappointed.

This was my first time rafting so I was nervous. The guides did a great job of putting us at ease and teaching us what we needed to know to have an incredible experience! I loved every minute of it!
