- rital7260 contributionsEast and fun rideThis tour was wonderful. Our guide, Kelly, emphasized safety and fun, which was perfect. Four girlfriends had not been on bikes in years, but that did not matter. The bikes were comfortable 3 speed cruisers, perfect for the relatively flat ride that we took. Kelly gave us lots of Portland history, as well as many opportunities to take a rest (which we did not need). We would definitely recommend this activity.Written 28 September 2024

Overall, it was nice but we wouldn't do it again. You should definitely rent a car a do the hikes on your own, at your own pace. The waterfalls are absolutely beautiful, but you're not able to spend as much time visiting them as you may want to because the group is on a schedule. I would also recommend riding a bike in a safer area as opposed to a windy road without a designated bike lane. Cars get inpatient and will often speed around you. We simply felt anxious and unsafe and would prefer an off-road bike path/trail.

Hi Brittany! I’m sorry you felt unsafe; I do agree that, for people who aren’t comfortable riding with some traffic, it’s tough to feel confident when you are new to that kind of dynamic. Your tour was on one of the busiest days we have yet experienced and several motorcycle and sports car clubs were doing unpermitted rallies, which the staff of the state parks and I tried to prevent but were unable to really address given the impossibility of a couple of women against a group of 80 vehicles. As it was the last weekend before permit requirements went into place on the highway, I think you unfortunately were exposed to the very worst of it.
The area is absolutely more pleasant when permits are in place — which happened May 24 — and on weekdays, when very few zoomy sports car drivers are out and about.
I hope you’ll come see us again when you are in town, we’d love to give you an opportunity to try the tour on a calmer day.

This might be one of our favorite excursions ever! The weather was perfect for a hike and bike! The van was nice and clean, the bikes were in great shape, and helmets were provided. Edwin was our guide and on the drive out to the gorge he provided lots of information about history, plants, and waterfalls along the highway. The bike ride was so beautiful! The hike was fairly easy and the views were phenomenal. Our entire family of four loved this adventure and we highly recommend it and this tour group!

Really great! I am a very active person, so any time I can combine activity with sightseeing, I’m all in! The staff at the meeting point were all terrific. We got fitted for our bikes and helmets in a timely manner and were in the van ready to explore. Angela, the tour guide, was informative, friendly, and helpful. She did a wonderful job communicating how to get to each waterfall and gave us lots of information about Portland and Oregon as we drove to and from our destination. I had such a great time talking with all the members of the group while fitting in some hiking, biking, and taking photos. Thank you for a memorable experience! Highly recommend!

We just did the half day bike/hike at Columbia River Gorge, and it was a great experience. There were only 4 of us in the group and we bonded well with the other couple. We ended up biking for about 13 miles (most of it was downhill) and we enjoyed the hikes to the falls. We feel that this outing was reasonably priced for about 5 hours.
We paid a small additional fee for e-bikes.

This was the tour we booked. but when we arrived for the tour we were informed that we would not be able to do the tour due to some road closures. The closures had happened earlier in the week so I did not understand why we were not notified ahead of time. Be that as it may we were given the option of changing the tour to a hike only. We decided to do that, and off we went. Carrie was our tour guide and she was great. During the ride out to the falls she was full of information and shared her vast knowledge of Portland with us. At each of the falls she provided us with more interesting tidbits of information. She was also very conscious of our safety. Carrie made the tour very worthwhile. It was a great way to spend part of the last day of the year.

This tour was fantastic!! Was about 7 miles of biking total and took us to 4 different waterfalls. Ana was a great guide—was super informative, fun, and had a lot of local knowledge to pass along—I’d highly recommend riding with her. A great way to spend a day near Portland.

I actually went to some main sights the day prior to the bike day, but friends of mine drive me along the way. To experience the same routes again but on bikes is much more exciting and new. Especially the first few paths, no need for pedals but only control the direction all the way down.

Hello,
Do you have a bike for an 8 yr old? or do you have a tandem bike for our 8 yr old? thanks
Written 5 September 2022
The company does “fit” you for your bike prior to the excursion. I did not see any kid bikes, doesn’t mean they don’t have them. It is a great excursion, I would call ahead and ask if they could fit a 8yr old.

I can't tell if this is entirely by bike or if parts/most of it are by bus. I'm looking for a 3/4 to all day bike or hike near Portland, even if we bus to the site.
