- indyfan990 contributionsGreat donut & walking tour of PortlandThis was a random find after googling things to do and places to eat in Portland. Our tour guide was Ian & he was awesome! We had a great time! The donuts were very unique & so tasty! While we ate really great donuts at all of the donut stops, the tour wasn’t just about donuts! We were able to see a few sights of Portland along the way. We also got tons of great Portland food recommendations from our tour guide that we can’t wait to try out! This tour was well worth the price & we would do it again!Written 11 November 2023
- Rob U0 contributionsBring your appetiteThis was a great way to see a bunch of Portland's most famous cuisine in one go. Four stops, all delicious in their own way. Bo was hilarious and the tour was a great way to spend 2 hours in the morning walking around the city. The tour is approximately 2 miles long and linear, so you end in a different section of the city than it begins.Written 3 June 2019
- Duska_Lou0 contributionsBring insulin - 🍩FUN! Informative, and tasty 😋 ! Gentle 2 mile walk with a sampling of Portland’s doughnut 🍩 offerings. Bo was a hilarious and educational guide. I don’t think my pancreas has had to work this hard in years. Be forewarned, there is such a thing as too much doughnut 🤪.Written 21 April 2019
- Kathy B0 contributionsIndulge Your Sweet Tooth & Explore PortlandGreat experience and affordable way to say "yes" to your sweet tooth (and the kids!) Take a walking tour of downtown Portland and stop to taste the city's best doughnuts. The guides are friendly, knowledgable, and deliver their info with a tongue-in-cheek humor that will have everyone laughing. Enjoyed this very much, and learned about some other places to check out while on the tour. If you're from out of town and want to explore the city, or even a local looking for something new and fun to do, give this a shot!Written 12 April 2019

We love donuts, and we loved this tour! Our tour started off at Sesame Donuts. It was easy to locate and right on the park. Complimentary coffee was offered at the start. The tour had several large families joining us both internationally and from across the States. The pace is just right, not too difficult to walk and no strenuous hills.
Covid precautions were followed, and at each of the four stops our wonderful guide would go in, pick up the donuts in a box, and dole them out to everyone while wearing gloves. The donut shops all have clean restrooms that you can use along the way.
Our personal favorites were the beignet style at NOLA donuts and the exotic flavors at Coco Donuts. What a fun, filling, day!

Beau definitely knows his business- from being very well informed about the Portland food scene in general to specific donut vendors/history to making sure we were comfortable the entire time. It was a great way to start the day and celebrate a birthday. Thanks so much, Beau- we'd do it all again!!

What a delicious way to enjoy downtown Portland! I would recommend this to any donut enthusiast visiting the area who wants to learn about the city, see some of the city and have truly amazing desserts. Our Guide Kayla was wonderful and we appreciate (what ended up being) a private tour experience. Thank you, Kayla!

This tour was great. Not only do you get a large sampling of donuts, the tour guide was fabulous. He didn't focus solely on the donuts, but we felt like we received a walking tour of the city. He had good energy and gave us a lot of information on all the donuts we sampled. He gave us a bag to keep our samples; there is no way to eat all the donuts that we were provided.

I had very high expectations entering this tour due to my amazing Portland dining experience so far and let me say this exceeded my expectations. The tour guides Bo and Ian were always willing and excited to answer any questions. Not only did they give rich history to each important spot but the tour gave a perfect amount of history, walking, and food. By the end of the tour my whole family was stuffed and enthusiastic about possible dining spots for upcoming meals by recommendation from Ian and Bo. I would very highly recommend this tour for many reasons and encourage people to try there upcoming ice cream and pizza tour as well for I do not live in Portland and can not.

Ian & Beau were amazing tour guides. Despite having already lived here for 5 years in the past, I learned a lot about Portland's history, got many great restaurant recommendations, and feel better informed on the city, as a whole. Entertaining, wholesome, and informative. 10/10 would recommend

We did the donut tour on the morning of the day we left Portland, and it was the perfect way to spend our last few hours in the city. It would, however, be a great way to start a stay in Portland as Ian (our tour guide) gave a lot of fantastic recommendations for things to do, places to eat and drink and so on, which would really help you plan your trip.
The donut shops whose donuts we tasted were really well chosen. They each make donuts in different ways and we enjoyed experiencing their different takes on donuts. Being able to sample a few from each place, rather than having to pick one, was brilliant because it meant we could try ones we wouldn't necessarily have tried otherwise.
Ian was a fabulous donut tour guide: he got the tone exactly right for the group (the group was lovely - perhaps this tour attracts particularly nice people!) and gave us interesting information about both donuts/donut shops and Portland itself, as well as the aforementioned recommendations. He was friendly and funny and clearly loves the city, the places he talks about, and, of course, the donuts!
It's such a good way to get to know a city and we thoroughly recommend it. However, there were a couple of kids on the tour who didn't like a number of the donuts, so it might not be suitable for younger people. That said, you get so many samples that there's sure to be something they'll like, so just being aware that they might not like a few might mean it's okay.

This was definitely one of the best tours my group of 9 did while in the Seattle/Portland area. These guys were hilarious and informative. They began on time and introduced themselves not as historians but rather "fat guys who like doughnuts." In spite of this, they provided a running commentary as we went along. Most of what they said gave us a sneak peek into the daily life of a Portlander, which was an interesting perspective to sample. Speaking of samples, bring your appetite! Each location provided very generous samples. Most of the items were massive doughnuts cut into fourths, providing a multi-bite piece for each of us. A few times, the same was a little different, as we tried some sesame doughnut holes, fried Oreos, and beignets. There was a lot of walking on the tour from shop to shop, but this made us feel a little bit better about the sugar we consumed. We were warned at the beginning, and we quickly verified that one must pace oneself. If you go all in on the samples at the beginning, there will be little room left at the end. This held true even for a group of teenagers. It was a great time led by some great guys. We would definitely do this tour again!

What a fun way to burn off some calories, a walking tour! Oh, but wait, 12 quarters of 12 different types of amazing donuts from 4 very different style donut shops while walking, skip the calorie burn and just enjoy the experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the shops and their donuts and had so many little tidbits to share about the neighborhood. He went the extra mile and in each of the four neighborhoods we went to shared restaurant/bar/sites to see. This is a fun way to start your day!

As someone that loves donuts I was very excited for this tour! Sampling 4 donuts at each of the 4 locations is a lot of donut but awesome to try lots of them without just buying a half dozen at one location. They also gave us a little paper bag for when we maxed out on the sugar overload. Ian was my tour guide and was phenomenal. He was very welcoming, knew so much about each donut, the Portland area, as well as gave other great recommendations for my short visit in town. I would recommend this tour for solo travelers, groups, and families of all ages! Very satisfied with my experience!

Are you able to walk for the entire tour or do you have to drive from location to location?
Written 17 June 2019
You walk for entire tour. Also, where you start is not where you finish. We parked at the start of the tour and walked back to our car, which took about 15-20 minutes., after tour was finished. We were happy to walk more after eating all of those donuts.
