- T8620FGcaitlins0 contributionsTen Year Anniversary TripTrust me when I say Wayne and team are the Michael Jordans of wine tours in the valley. Having Wayne as our guide made our trip an unforgettable experience. Wayne was a wonderful host and managed to add two phenomenal wineries to our list at the last moment. It was our ten year anniversary and he made it very memorable for us. We will most certainly be back and be contacting A Great Oregon Wine Tour for another private tour! Thank you!!!!Written 25 September 2024
- davidwJ1912UX0 contributionsWine tasting in Oregon Willamette ValleyWayne arranged for six winery visits/tastings over two different days. One included a food pairing at Soter Vineyards which was excellent. We also visited Knudsen, Bledsoe|McDaniel, Ayoub, Evesham Wood/Haden Fig, and Bethel Heights. The vehicles were fine, and Wayne (owner) was knowledgeable and entertaining. Would use again!Written 18 September 2024
- pascale4160 contributionsAmazing!I strongly recommend A Great Oregon Wine Tour. We had a great day with Camille. She is extremely friendly and pleasant and most importantly, she is very knowledgeable of the Oregon wine industry. We had a great day!Written 30 August 2024
- riverae30 contributionsWonderful, special experience!Excellent experience for my wife and I. A great variety of locations and our guide was wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable (and very knowledgeable). We would certainly recommend to anyone!Written 30 August 2024
- Y4262PXmikec0 contributionsA Great In Depth Introduction to Oregon WineAn amazing day guided by Wayne around some of the vineyards of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Knowledgeable, informal and entertaining (and doing all the driving) made for a relaxing, but educative day. New to this wine region, we learnt a lot and that he knew so much of the area and the individual wineries, their history, owners and production made it all the more special. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and do another visit with A Great Oregon Wine Tour!Written 29 August 2024
- J9503URlaureng0 contributionsHands down The Queen of Oregon Wine Country! Can't think of a better day than touring Hood River Wine Country with Camille-- she was incredible, entertaining and knew more about the wines than some of the folks at the wineries. We're already planning a return trip to the area next June and a day in wine country with Camille is at the top of our list. Thank you for sharing your day and expertise with us (and HBD Sweet!)!Written 26 June 2024
- jsI6738YV0 contributionsJust Pick Wayne and Don't Worry About ItBooked a private tour for my wife and myself. Wayne made the day most memorable. If you are undecided as to which wine tour company or if you think you might want to do it yourself - just pick A Great Oregon Wine Tour and ask for Wayne. Let him do all the planning because he knows EVERYONE in the region. We visited 3 wineries and that made for a great day trip. Plus Wayne will take you to a nice stop or two to begin your day, as most wineries in the area don't open til 11am anyway. The box lunch was also fantastic and allowed us to keep moving to the next winery. We will do this trip again and ask Wayne to take us to all his favorite small wineries.Written 16 May 2024
- Sara F0 contributionsFun casual educational wine tourMy daughter and I did a full day wine tour yesterday with Great Oregon wine tours. We were with Camille who has 20 plus years working in the Oregon wine industry and could answer any questions we had. As we drove around she told us all the backstories of the wineries and when we stopped at vineyards she took the time to explain the way they prune the grapes and why. She had immense wine knowledge and took us to three great wineries. We did 3 for the day and had plenty of time at each place to explore - nothing was rushed. At the second winery we had a great lunch that she had made sandwiches for. She adjusted the plan based on the weather for the day being a bit took cold/rainy for a picnic. She made us enjoying our day a priority. I would strongly recommend a Great Oregon wine tour if you want a casual fun wine tour where you will taste great wines but also leave understanding a lot more about the Williamette valley. We will be back.Written 28 April 2024
- Flyer034388091940 contributionsGreat tour, fun day!Our tour into the Oregon Willamette Valley was exactly what we were looking for as this was our first visit to this wine region. Dasha was a wonderful host. She was very friendly and very knowledgable about the region and history. The ride was relatively short, but she provided enough detail of how and why the Pinot grapes do so well here. We were a small group, so she was able to listen and answer all of our questions. It was a great ride. The lunch was awesome and the selection of wineries was perfect. We were picked up and dropped off at the hotel door in Tigard, so we had no worries about the road. I’d recommend this tour to anyone looking for a very comfortable and educational day!Written 30 October 2023
- margaretsY5133GB0 contributionsWonderful times tasting wine in Oregon! We have toured with Camille for several years. This year we did the Willamette Valley with our Girls Who Swirl wine group, and then took a second day and went on a private tour to Columbia River Gorge wineries. Camille really has great relationships with boutique wineries and caters to us completely. I cannot recommend A great Oregon Wine Tour enough!Written 30 September 2023

- pikefish9640 contributionsAmazing Willamette Valley Wine TourOur friends and us had a private tour for 4 with Wayne on Saturday 6/17/23 and had the most amazing time. He picked us up promptly from our VRBO and made our way to organized tastings during our day. Toured Hyland, Durant (for olive oil), Resonance, White Walnut Estate, and finally Gran Moraine before he dropped us off to our place. Along the way, Wayne educated us on the area’s agricultural and viticultural landscape, provided a perfect lunch (charcuterie board), and had plenty of water. No better organized tour to take in the Willamette Valley than with A Great Oregon Wine Tour!Written 21 June 2023

Wayne was a great host! Even though we requested a tour at the last minute, on a HOLIDAY, Wayne was extremely friendly, professional, and got us everything we wanted from a wine tour. He really took the time to learn our party’s tastes, and recommended a custom itinerary of top-notch wineries that featured wines we wanted to taste. Wayne was punctual, respectful, and edu-taining for the entire day. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an amazing day in Willamette Valley. Also, for those wondering, Wayne’s ride was clean, comfy, and well-stocked with water – perfect for those hot summer days.

Oh My Gosh.. what a great review. Did Wayne give you a Review Template to use? 😀
He works hard creating these moments for our guests, and our team works hard to support him from helping with lunches, cleaning vehicles and also giving tours . It's always nice to hear our efforts are appreciated.
I'll share this with Wayne, boost his ego just a little bit more.

Highly recommend this tour! We were picked up by Teri in Portland and once the doors closed on the van she started the tour. She gave us a wealth of information wherever we were at (history of everything in sight). Once we arrived in the Williamette wine country the education continued along with backup of her information from those at the wineries. We started at Hyland Estates then to Zerba Cellars. We then went to Utopia where we had lunch and had the honor of spending our time with the owner/winemaker Daniel Warnshuis (just us). We ended the day at Domaine Divio. We were then taken back to our hotel where we carefully carried in a case of the wonderful nector of the day and 2 wineclub memberships so we could be reminded every few months of our wonderful time and smile!
We also returned home with some Hazelnuts (let Teri tell you about that)!! On a side note, if possible travel via Alaska air. A case of wine is complimentary to fly home with!

My fiancé & I took a tour with Wayne back in the Summer of 2019 and completely forgot to write a glowing review then! It took going on a few not so great tours in California to remember what an absolute pleasure and unique experience it was going on a tour with Wayne. He was funny, entertaining, but had so much information to share with the intimate group of ~15 while we were going to and from vineyards. Overall, we hit up around 4-5 quality Vineyards, all of which had fantastic wine and great service. If we were to ever go back to Oregon, we’d absolutely sign up for another tour with Wayne. So, if you’re looking for an intimate wine trip with somebody who is down to earth and can explain wine in an easily understood language, I cannot recommend him enough.

I took this wine tour two years ago while on a girls' trip and sadly, did not take the time to post a review. This tour was absolutely phenominal and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. Camille was our guide and she was very personable, funny and knowledgable about the wine and vineyards in the area. The vineyards we visited had delicious wine and the countryside was simply stunning. Ask specifically for Camille because she made the entire experience super fun and enjoyable.

Willamette Valley is beautiful. The drive from Portland out to the valley gave us time to learn more about the area and take in the sights. Wayne was the best tour guide, giving us the perfect mix of information about different grapes and wine, with an extra pour of great laughs. The lunch on the tour was delicious and paired perfectly with the wine tastings. I would highly recommend Wayne and his team for your Oregon tours. I hope to visit again and go on another tour!

I had an amazing time on this tour in the Willamette wine country with my best friend. Teri was a very sweet, kind and hilarious tour guide. She was very knowledgable of all the things that go into a good bottle of wine and knew the wine makers first hand. I HIGHLY recommend this tour if you're looking to visit some wineries/vineyards that are a little smaller and less commercial and hopefully you'll get Teri as your guide! I also really enjoyed that we got to talk to the winemakers and/or owners at all the spots we stopped at (Lange, Roots and Compris). That isn't something I have typically been able to do at larger wineries. The only thing I would've liked more of is a more substantial lunch (like sandwiches or something). We had a lovely charcuterie board with delicious cheeses and smoked salmon and fruit, but over a whole day of drinking wine, I was very hungry by the end because I think I needed more hearty food. Overall, 5/5 stars, definitely book this if you're looking to explore Willamette!

WOW!! What a very nice and detailed review. I will show this to Teri, she will be so appreciative of it. She truly is a gem of a person, we know how lucky we are to have her as an important part of our company. Thank you for your comment on lunch, we work hard on the lunches but maybe once in a while we could beef them up a bit. It's a balancing act I'll tell ya. Some days those trays come back empty and some days they come back still half full. You probably worked with
Wayne getting this set up, he is my husband, we own and operate this company together and we actually met at the first winery you went to, Lange Estate. We met there 13 years ago in May. We LOVE that place.

My wife and I live in Portland, so we weren't 100% sure how tourist-oriented a wine tour like this might be, but Wayne absolutely blew away our expectations. What an amazing day! Wayne showed us around to four different wineries near the Portland area. Each one had seriously delicious wine and very friendly hosts.
Wayne himself was an absolute joy to spend time with, and he provided us with a super delicious charcuterie board lunch that went above and beyond what we'd expect from a tour.
We'd both recommend this tour to anyone who likes wine, whether you're visiting Portland or you live here. Thanks so much Wayne!

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Oregon and this was by far the highlight! Wayne was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable, personable, hilarious, entertaining and just a great time overall. There were 3 couples total on the trip and we stopped at 4 different wineries- each one knowing Wayne by name since he’s been doing this for 10+ years. He also supplied great tips for places and restaurants to hit while in the state. I will recommend Wayne’s wine tour to anyone I know going to Oregon. If you’re debating—- just book it!!

Thank you for that great review.
We haven't organized many combined group tours since the Pandemic but everyone in the group was game and followed the safety guidelines.
Wayne said it almost felt like one of our "normal" summertime tours.
So glad you had a great time.
Wayne IIZZZ the man.
Stay safe and we hope you come to Oregon again some day and we will take you to 4 more beautiful wineries.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was Jessie, and she chose 3 excellent wineries. She was very knowledgeable, and explained a lot about the history of the wineries in the Willamette Valley. It was a very hot day, but she kept us comfortable, providing cold water and always having the van cooled off before we got in. She also provided a really nice lunch. I highly recommend this tour.

Wayne is the best tour guide and his knowledge of wine is unsurpassed. He gets a gauge on everyone’s likes and dislikes on the drive out to the valley while sharing his wealth of information on the history of the area, keeping everyone entertained with his comedic personality. His winery picks for the day were beautiful and all offered a vast selection of wines and of course had the best pinot noir. My fiancé and I highly recommend Wayne’s tour.

I am going to be in Portland in August and was thinking about taking your tour.
1. I'm staying with relatives in Raleigh Hills. Would you pick me up there, or would I meet you somewhere else?
2. About what time does the tour return?
Thank you,

Laurie we are staying at an air bnb 5 miles outside of Portland and we were told we have to take an uber to a hotel directly in Portland so I wouldn't count on it.

We did not. Wayne selects different wineries every trip. Give him a call or text if there’s a specific place you’d like to go and he’ll let you know if he can accommodate. I wanted to meet up with friends and he picked a good meeting place...a couple places changed on the itinerary due to special events he wanted us to experience but he kept that rendezvous point on the agenda so I could visit my old pals.

Hello! Is there a vegetarian option for lunch? And is a pick up possible in Hillsboro where I live?
Written 13 April 2019
The "lunch" is a combination of things you pair with wine; grapes, cheeses, figs, crackers, some charcuterie, nuts and such. I don't eat meat, and had no problem finding stuff to eat in the spread they offered us for lunch. I can't answer a question concerning pickups, I was staying at a hotel at the time, and when I inquired if they'd pick me up there, they said, "yes." Just call them.
