Website does not disclose that the aquarium would’ve been closed for two days the only two days we are in town. It also does not disclose that the planetarium and the art museum are one or the other which significantly devalues this city pass. I feel scammed.

If you plan on visiting the Museum Campus and other attractions, this is the way to go. Your City Passes have a separate line for admission, and is often shorter. You can also get select discounts on add-on tours, such as the behind the scenes at the Shedd Aquarium. If you are going to do the museums, it saves you about half! I recommend them.

I got City Passes for my family trip to Chicago in March and I think it could have been cheaper to buy individual museum tickets. The savings with the pass assumes that you want to see a movie at each of your destinations. But the pass does not cover admission to most ticketed exhibits (eg Pompei exhibit as Science and Industry). We had a party of four but wanted to split up and go to different museums on one day. I was able to arrange it after a lengthy text exchange that required splitting the group. I think the pass is only worth it if you really want to see movies and not exhibits at museums.

Its a pretty good value and purchase, reservations and printing of tickets at hone was easy. However because of possible severe weather anything considered a possible danger wasn't available. Had a disappointed kid and the logistics of changing our itinerary and reservations made it kind of a money loss. If you're going above ground level or on the water maybe check the forecast before spending for tickets.

Definitely worth the money if you are going to be in Chicago a few days and want to see the highlights.
Being able to bypass the admission and ticket lines and “walk right in” was wonderful at the Art Institute, Willis Tower and Field Museum. Other people wasted 20-30 minutes or more waiting in line at each, without CityPass.
Highly recommend!
Be alert: for some attractions you have to book a specific admission time in advance; however, I did not find this difficult. (Instructions are clear.)

The Chicago City Pass was totally worth it for us. We were there for 3 days, and bought the 5 attractions pass at one of the outdoor kiosk when we arrived at the Navy Pier on the first day to do the River Cruise.
That same evening, we wandered our way to the Skydeck building without a prior reservation (I promise it was unintentional - just a last minute girls weekend trip). But we got lucky as we did not realize that the City Pass includes the 'expedited entry' to the Skydeck, so we were able to get our last minute tickets fairly quickly instead of waiting in line.
On the 2nd day, we did the Aquarium and Planetarium, and then spent all day at the Field Museum on the 3rd day. We did have to book our desired time of visit for the Aquarium the day before though.
I think the City Pass was a good value compared to buying those tickets separately. Highly recommend.
As a side, we also bought the 3-day CTA ticket for $15 at the airport and traveled everywhere by public transportation during this trip and were able to cover all the 5 attractions plus other parts of the city with the CTA ticket.

Don’t expect the perks. While attending some of these attractions that told us that we needed to have a reservation time. Something that CityPASS did not tell us about in any form. This caused us to wait in a forever long line, and then get turned away because we didn’t have a “time” picked out. Especially with the SKYDECK, something that we really wanted to do. They said that they were sold out and could come back at 9pm but we would have to give up our CITYPASS express perks for the experience, if we really wanted to. 9pm was really inconvient, but if we knew we should’ve reserved a time ahead we would’ve done that and that would’ve saved us time and parking money as well. Disappointed.

We purchased the 5 attraction pass and utilized the advance reservation system to make the most of our four days in Chicago. The pass allows purchaser to select timed entry on specific dates, expediting entry to several popular tourist attractions. Purchasers have the ability to choose from several major attractions while saving on individual entry fees.

Don't let the price tag scare you away. If you're doing a handful of Chicago Loop tourist-y stuff, then this is for you. The savings alone vs. individual passes is > 50%, but the you skip the lines! Watch all those non-CityPASS fools waste their time in line while you skate to the FRONT. It's like being a Kardashian. Well, except they don't go to museums...

This was quick and easy to purchase and use. The one thing to be cautious of is attraction tickets can be available to the general at a particular time but it is not available to City pass ticket holders at those same times. So the earlier you can plan ahead the better. Accessibility to all of the exhibits at the Field Museum was definitely a convenience as was the expedited entry into Willis Tower.

Does it matter when you go to the attractions. Or can you jus buy it for a weekend. And go to half of them one day. Other half the next day?

Hola!
Saludos

We downloaded online, but you can get it at some of the attractions. My understanding it is the same cost either way.

No, I had the costco confirmation and when we arrived to our first attraction, we presented them the order and then they gave us the booklet for the rest of our trip. Hope this late reply helps, didn't see it till now.

Does this cover Jazzin at the Shed?
Michelle L
Brampton, Canada53 contributions
No I don't believe so, the city pass only includes an animal show and a 4D experience when we were there. There were other things you can pay extra to see, so its safe to assume the Jazzin at Shedd is one of them. Hope that helps!
