      Great sunset cruise
Loved all aspects of the sunset cruise! The captains and crew were professional and friendly- enjoyable music- comfortable cruising and a dolphin leaping out of the water escorting us out of the harbor.

      The Pelucan sunset tour
We set out on a sunset cruise leaving St. Pete's harbor heading for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The views of the bridge were spectacular. The captain gave us some history of the bridge and channel in Tampa Bay used by ships. Going under the lit up bridge was amazing. The crew was great! Highly recommend this tour if you are in the St. Pete's area. Excellent tour!

      Absolutely fabulous experience
Absolutely fabulous experience. We had a live musician with a guitar throughout the trip, people breaking into impromptu karaoke style singing, Percy weather for the perfect sunset, superb hosts, couldn’t ask for more

Great trip. Awesome crew and owner.
I took this trip with my 14yr old son. We really had a great time. They had some awesome live music...shout out to Taylor Leopold. The crew were all outstanding and so was the owner. I had a chance to chat with him a bit. If you are considering it, do it!

Nothing on the Pelican St Pete website indicates it is an adults only. We purchased 6 adult tickets for a family cruise and were refused boarding as we had a 3 year old & 7 month old in our party. We were refused any type of refund. Will NEVER recommend them again although I had in the past.

      Unmatchable experience
The views were great & the crew was even better!!! The crew was very intentional in making sure that we enjoyed the cruise by being available to take photos (shoutout to Lou, thank you), taking requests for music (even allowing my wife to be the DJ), and answering all of our questions (shoutout to Captain Bobby). We look forward to booking with Pelican during our next visit to St. Petersburg. Thank you again Lauren, Lou & Capt. Bobby.

      Easy Booking, Fun Times
I booked this event for a party of 5. I picked this charter because of the price. The event was well organized and the dock was easy to find. We had a great time with our friends. The sunset was beautiful and the Skyway was amazing at night! They have an onboard bar with some brews for sale that were good. The weather was beautiful this time of year. I was concerned a bit that we would not have time to view the whole sunset as we were going to depart at 5:30 but the day before the captain called and told us he’d like to leave at 5:00 and the timing was perfect!

A Great Tour of the St. Pete coastline and Sunshine Skyway Light Show
Great cruise of the Bay and the sunset! The crew was friendly and Wade remembered all our names. The captain played all the tunes we requested over a great sound system. The boat is awesome and the Sunshine Skyway light show was memorable. Plenty of room and the seating was very comfortable. Will do another tour again with these guys!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a business. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I would never want someone to experience what we have. My husband and I were on our short honeymoon (2.5 days) and we booked and paid for this excursion in advance. This is the only excursion we planned. Honestly, this was what I was most excited to come to clearwater for. We were staying at a hotel in Clearwater which is a 45 min drive from this excursion meeting point. We got up early on our 1st day here to take the $50 Uber to the excursion only to find out that we weren’t being taken out bc they didn’t have enough customers to make the trip worth their while and had to take another $50 uber back to our hotel, not including tips. When speaking with the owner, Dan, and expressing my valid frustrations he was one of the most cold hearted and condescending people I’ve ever spoke to. He was instantly defensive and interrupting saying “how you get to me isn’t my problem.” Yes my transportation isn’t his problem but I paid for a service that he did not provide which in turn cost me over $100 in Ubers, disappointment and hours wasted. Instead of apologizing he was insulting saying “listen young lady.. not my problem..” etc. he claims they called to notify me, but I never received a call. They did email me however it was AFTER they sent me a confirmation reminder that our trip was the next morning. The email was obviously looked over bc it was sent at 3 pm Thursday when our trip was scheduled for 9 am Friday. Again I received confirmation that the trip was still on so why would I be looking for a cancellation email. If the trip was getting rescheduled for weather or maintenance I could understand but this was purely for their convenience and no one can say they spoke to me up until that phone call. No one was even at the dock to speak to, just a locked up entrance. After getting no where with the owner, him interrupting me, insulting me and not being an ounce of compassionate I got beyond frustrated and told him I would be leaving this review. He then proceeded to say he was recording our conversation from that point and would post it in response to this review, how childish. After again getting nowhere with him I hung up. He then text me “trying” to act nice that he was sorry and accommodating which he was not in the slightest throughout our ENTIRE phone call, just so he can respond to this review with his screenshot and maybe the call of me being understandably frustrated. Which btw, he did not have permission to record me. Moral of the story this was the most disappointing, unprofessional and disrespectful experience I’ve ever had with a company. I would not recommend anyone spend an ounce of their well deserved vacation supporting this business. If I could leave negative stars, I would.

Well, we went on this boat to spend 2 hrs on Egmont Key. Only got 1 hour in total Egmont key on this trip. The boat and facilities was perfect but when you pay 300.00 for a family of 4 to get your destination for 2 hours promised by their company then by god it should be 2 hours. I’ve been on catamaran power boats before and either they had it on half power to save on fuel or something else. Just expect less time at Egmont key. Most important is to bring bug spray because mosquitoes are horrible inland but not the beach.

Not worth it. This was 2 hours of boat ride (1 hour each way) with nothing much to see to get to an island with nothing much to see.

To get onto the island, you had to climb down a ladder off the boat into water that is NOT ankle deep as their tour description says, it was over everyone's knees and would get your shorts/capris wet.

Once on the island, there is an undistinguished lighthouse that you can only view from the outside and very boring ruins of an old fort. (Fort DeSoto has better fort ruins and signage.) We did see two gopher tortoises.

You have to bring your own snacks and beverages, although they do offer small bottles of water to you. They have 2 full-size restrooms on board to use, so you could conceivably change out of a wet swimsuit after swimming.

The beach is not great, it isn't cleaned of dead fish like St Pete Beach and other beaches, although the ocean is fairly calm there.

It was hot with no shade on the beach. We walked around the island and waded in the water and that took up 1 hour. We spent the second day hout just sitting on the boat.

We did see a couple dolphin on the way back. But if you want to see dolphin and egrets, take one of the dolphin boat tours. I enjoyed that more.

November 2022 trip - We made it on the boat, but were told we could not go to Edgmont Pier because the water was too rough.

ALSO, we found out on the boat, that the pier for the key requires wading from knee to waste deep and other guests did not have swim suits for the wading as they were unaware of this condition. This should be in the advertisement AND on the ticket that spare clothes or bathing suits required.

All on the boat, they offered to do a manatee boat trip with a partial refund. We accepted.

Didn't see a manatee nor my partial refund.

NOTE: There is a ferry that will take you to Edgmont Pier from Fort De Soto park. I bet the ferry would have got us to our destination.

Regardless, completely unacceptable to offer a refund and not issue it within 24 hours.

Staff and boat were nice. Customer service non-existent.

The day was beautiful for a cruise! We enjoyed the boat ride, the group was small so we got to know our fellow travelers. The crew was super helpful and fun. The key is worth seeing but once you get there you see many small local boats that are also out enjoying the day. Overall, it was worth every penny and we will do again when company comes to visit. My hat blew off coming home and the captain stopped the boat and the second mate got out his binoculars before I even knew what was happening! It was so much fun! Pictures won't upload so I have none to share.

I had the opportunity to take my parents on this beautiful boat ride to this beautiful island. They have never experienced anything like this before so to be able to see their excitement was such a gift. I am on the bigger side when it comes to weight and body size and the stairs to get down the boat into the water was wide enough to feel comfortable to go up and down it. I am scared of Heights and the ladder was kinda high from the water up to the boat itself but the boat crew were amazing they made me feel comfortable and safe climbing up and down the wide ladder i would do this tour EVERYTIME i come down here from now on worth every penny. Best time spending with my family!! Safe for this swimmers who don’t feel super comfortable swimming.

Fantastic comfortable boat trip to beautiful Egmont Key! The boat left promptly once everyone arrived, and we were offered unlimited complimentary water on our trip. You are allowed to bring your own food/alcohol and they had nice bathrooms available to use should you need. The trip to the island was about 45mins- 1hr, and it was nice that they played classic rock throughout the trip. We were lucky enough to see dolphins on our trip, but even without it was a very nice boat trip.

Once we arrived at Egmont Key you have to step into thigh high water (I'm 5'10) to walk roughly 15 feet to the shore. The boat guide will tell you specifically where to walk and what trail to stay on, listen to them! If you stray off there are no signs, no lights, and no way to cross back to the beach (due to thick vegetation).

I stuck to the trail and it was amazing! We saw the entire island, lots of ruins, plenty of turtles, and even 1 snake. It was an amazing few hours on Egmont Key and I highly recommend it to everyone!

We arrived at the Pier not knowing what really to expect and to our Surprise we had a Delightful welcome upon the Pelican cruise boat. Our Day couldn’t have been more perfect as the Sunshine and soft Breeze welcomed us as we found our way to front seats on our voyage..The captain and staff were Top Notch providing humor, laughter and inspiring info to withhold our interest as we sailed away to Egmont Key. I highly recommend to all who are looking to spend a Beautiful Afternoon on the water. This 4 hour cruise has been the highlight of our St. Pete tourist attractions.. don’t hesitate if you are on the fence, it’s a must and very well mentioned as a Top Activity to do while visiting at the Pier!

We booked 1pm on a Monday and we had a very small group. Our boating staff was amazing. John, Vinny and Lauren made our experience memorable! It was a little chilly on the ride out, so I would recommend bringing long sleeves. We were lucky to have calm waters and a smooth ride. Vinny was nice to chat with! When you exit the boat to get to the island you will get wet so be prepared! The island was fun to walk around and we spent the majority of our time on the beach. The boat music was a great addition to listen to as well! Our girls were able to do a little boat driving as well and that was fun for them. Multiple dolphin sightings on the way out and the way back. We were lucky enough as well to have three dolphins follow us and jump in the waves. The whole experience was well worth it.

One of the best boat tours I have taken in my travels. One hour out to a beautiful key, two hours to swim, beachcomb, bird, see the remains of an old fort. One hour back, saw dolphins. Crew competent and courteous. Good with kids. Minor quibble is use local artists for music. Took early boat, great.
