    Totally worth the money
We had the best day on this package. Our tour guide was amazing, so knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. The day ran so smoothly. We did everything we wanted to do at least once. Saw the show and had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

    Love Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror night is a must for anyone that loves Halloween. Last year we attended the Orlando HHN and this year we decided to try HHN in Hollywood. Must say Hollywood had heaps less people we attended 30th October and 31st October which wasn’t too bad but if you want to experience every haunted house you either have to get a fast pass or we chose to attend 2 nights which worked out much cheaper than fast pass. Be prepared to walk a lot and wait in line, but for us this is all part of the experience. The scare zones were great and each of the haunted houses were unique. We loved ghostbusters and A Quiet Place and Terror Tram was great. We thought Halloween Horror Night was amazing and can’t wait to see what they have next year.

VIP experience we’ll worth the cost,, quick access to rides and tour guide educates you to behind the scenes history.
Our professional guide during the VIP tour was Brian, I greatly appreciated his professionalism and positive attitude during the tour. I was very impressed with the food that was included with the VIP tour, the lunch was particularly delicious with a diverse selection of salads and prime rib fresh seafood and delicious dessert. The coffee served at breakfast was delicious. The VIP pass allowed us to quickly bypass main lines and in one day we were able to see all the attractions. The park is easy to navigate, we took an Uber , there was a defined Uber drop off and pick up point.

    Nice, but small park
Really enjoyed the park. Most of the rides were fun. Some of the rides can use an overhaul (minions and simpsons). Wish the park had more rollercoasters (can't wait for F&F coaster). Some staff members weren't overly friendly (at the popcorn stands) The Studio tour was cool. The Mario area is meh. The theme is nice, the ride is okay, but the upcharge on some mini games is outrageous. Would be nice if the stores were open longer after park hours so you can shop without being rushed.

    Amazing First-Time Experience!
I had an incredible first visit to Universal Studios Hollywood! The park is well-designed, and the rides are thrilling, especially the Harry Potter and Jurassic World attractions. The Studio Tour was a highlight—it’s so cool to see real movie sets! The staff were friendly, and the whole place had an exciting vibe. Perfect for movie fans and thrill-seekers alike. Highly recommend for a fun, memorable day!

Only real scare was the cost on all levels 😱
Total rip off! Ridiculous queues, states you must buy park ticket & this pile of crap too! They never scanned or checked park tickets, over $700 wasted. Plus the park ticket. Family of 4 £1000! Literally queues so long you could only do 3 things. Clearly pure greed to sell fast passes for another £400, but obviously everyone had the same idea & those queues ridiculous. So still couldn’t do even half the shows. Not staffed enough so queue jumping & badly organised incompetent queue heading. The scariest thing was the aches, pains of shuffling the night away & the cost of them!

    Disappointing and Over Priced
Hadn’t been to HHN in 5 years. Took the family 10/27 must agree with many others just how disappointing it was. Just seems to be a money grab now. We have been to many, many HHN events, but this one will be our last. I can remember when it used to be really good, now it’s just……blah. Every year it gets more expensive and the quality of the entire event keeps going down. No more, I’m done.

    fun experience
Universal is a great theme park. It's less about the studios and more about the rides. The studio tour itself hasn't changed in many years. It's more like an interactive ride. Def worth a visit if you're in LA.

    Terrible humiliating experience
This is the worst experience I have ever experienced at a park.. I am disabled woman and I had to pay for my own wheelchair when the park was supposed to accommodate.. I cried three times because the rides were so small I couldn't even fit in them I was humiliated multiple times by staff and just telling me I can't fit they should accommodate everybody and every size. This is the worst experience I've ever experienced at a park Disneyland was by far the best park I've ever been to they accommodate for everybody and everyone is able to ride on the rides.. and we paid a lot of money a lot of money to be treated with such disgust from the park from staff and being humiliated..

Save your poor back the constant mile walks
Well everything was designed nicely and looked great, the scare actors in the houses were really predictable and they had the staff in robes with the guide lights? That really took my out of it as they were at every corner and it felt like I saw them more than the scarers. Another point with the houses is you had to walk a mile just to wait in line for almost half an hour, why were they only letting people in in groups of 8, even Knott's scary farm knew to keep it moving to save visitors back pains. And in the main areas like Hogwarts, I didn't see one death eater, one of the main reasons I wanted to go, and the dragon wasn't above gringotts either, very disappointed with that but the fish and chips in the tavern were worth it. The scare actors didn't really come out till 8PM when it was advertised as 7PM, and there weren't very many, they only brought the big birds on stilts out for a show before leaving immediately after too. I'm just happy I got a free scares from the chainsaw punkz, cute and very aggressive ❤️‍🩹. One last part on the transformers ride, there was way too much walk up for a minute long ride and when I got up there with my dad the ride broke down and they didn't tell us how long it'd take until 10 minutes of waiting at the gate to get on. Not common but that really put the hurt on me. Overall the experience was kinda dull and not very accommodating for people with easily strained backs, or people who actually wanna get scared without walking a mile or two for a predictable horror house. All the love for the chainsaw punkz who basically carried the place but I will not be returning

Not a patch on the Universal Studios of the 90’s!
Universal Studios Hollywood is in pretty bad shape at present,Jaws and Jurassic World are currently closed due to maintenance The tram tour is pathetic ,most of the main sets are out of bound’s including Court House Square and Colonial Street the latter has been closed for months. The Jaws ride past is no miss though but they still have Spielberg talking about it and when it does work if that’s the best they could come up with that is mighty sad but I have always thought he is overrated and laughable how he admits to trespassing while at the Studios as the guide warns up if we leave the tram we would be trespassed for life shame he wasn’t as that would have saved us from the awful War of The Worlds and the 747 crash site that nobody on the tour has any interest in. Stuff covering up The Bates Motel for Horror Nights ,no reason the hoardings couldn’t be moved during the day and the final ride through before F+F Super Charged has to be the biggest low point ,crappy looking sets from a movie called NOPE I have never heard and don’t think anyone else on the tram had either! Jupiter’s Claim needs evicting without notice! Waterworld is ok and now the only theatre style show. All in all USH is well over priced and the powers that be need to look into improving it quick and wasn’t over busy.

$$, UNSAFE GROUP AND HUNGOVER RIP GUIDE = Knotts Scary Farm next time
My daughter and I just completed a RIP tour for the third time ( first was Universal Florida) and second/ third were Universal Hollywood. The first two RIP tours were excellent, safe, and amazing experiences. Sadly this time was not such an experience. Our tour guide was "M". Two members of our group were 15 minutes late - no big deal- but a sign of things to come. We started with the buffet. After the buffet the same these same two were 15 minutes late again- showing up with big cans of beer and reeking of marijuana. During the tour, these two individuals were visibly drunk/ high and began harassing others in the group- as well as scare actors and generally ruining the experience for the rest of the group. At one point members of our group were sharing that someone was smoking marijuana in the bathroom during one of our early breaks in the tour. This couple then joined the group again, reeking of weed. Our guide "M" honestly was not a great host and seemed checked out . She was informed of the unsafe couple but they remained until finally removed from our group by security toward the end of the tour- after ruining a majority of the experience of the RIP tour. We have no plans on doing RIP again- or VIP- which we have done in the past. This was an unsafe and unnecessary bad RIP tour. Our tour was overshadowed by aggressive drunk/ high people that i felt the need to keep my teenage daughter away from. I didn’t feel like M represented RIP or Universal or HHN very well and allowed the group to be unsafe and not very enjoyable. It felt like she was phoning it in- and even told us they had a cast party the night before and everyone was “tired”. Probably won’t be back

    Halloween Horror Night Disappointment
We paid for the Express pass for Halloween Horror Nights. Pass was $319.00 each. I am glad we paid for the pass because we did get to all the attractions that we wanted to get to. The negative was there are 8 haunted houses. They were all essentially the same, nothing scary nothing interesting. The park was so oversold that they were rushing you through each attraction. You could see what was coming because they were pushing you through. I was shocked that Universal did such a poor job with these Haunted Houses nothing at all seemed to be creative or original. Everyone in our group of 4 agreed. Would never go back or recommend it to anyone.

    A revisit with good memories
Came back to the parks after 6 years since our first visit. Lots of rides are still the same a few are still as good as the first time. Generally if find there are more stores and things to purchase than last which I find sad. Would have preferred to have more activities than there is. We will not be returning as I find the prices are too high compared to the number of activities

Like their Halloween event but not as bad. For Halloween, you will enter the park right when they open and lines will be 60-90 min. Within an hour of the event being open, the lines will be up to 2.5 hours. Universal should be ashamed of themselves for the greed they exhibit. To have people pay so much money and only be able to go on 2-4 mazes the entire evening is just wrong. I am convinced that the fire department would shut this event down of being overcrowded but they have their OWN Fire Department, so nothing will be shut down. The place is going to have a major disaster one day and a lot of people are going to get hurt because there are just too many people in that place to exit 4 turn stalls. God forbid there is ever a fire or earthquake;

I have complained to Universal about the safety issues more than once.

I will save a copy of this message for the day when a disaster hits them and people are trampled on. Do not bring your little ones to this park. It's not safe.

Dec 2019 • Friends
Went to Universal in December 2019 for a guys trip and had a blast. We didn’t have any skip the line stuff and still had no problem hitting every ride during the day. The Hogwart’s ride is by far the most popular so we did a run for that first thing and then just looked to see what ride had the shortest wait time and headed there.

The park has excellent WiFi coverage so download their app and you can see wait times etc.

One piece of advice, if you buy clothing, try it on at the store. I bought a shirt a size larger than I normally wear and when I got back home couldn’t even get it past my shoulders. Totally my fault for not trying it on there.

As it was December the park was decked out in Christmas decorations and they had The Grinch there and do a tree lighting show at night too. Quite well done.

The lines are too long and they let in too many people: no bueno!!!!! Covid infection rates are spiking and we were packed in there like sardines.
We bought the tickets through the official website: $134 of pure robbery… we were there around 9:20 am and able to do one ride. As people started coming in the lines were just too much: even my two 16 year old sons gave up after two rides….. i expected a better time for the money we spent. Big disappointment.
Universal Studios you are way too greedy: let less people in so they can actually enjoy the experience!

Really enjoyed the resort and learning more about how movies are made. For adults I think it needs to be a little bit cheaper than children because there is more for kids than adults to be honest. Overall it’s a good day out for a couple/family.

It was unbelievably overcrowded. Possibly 300% overloaded. Wait times was 2+ hours on all rides and express tickets sold out. They also closed down all single rider lines early in the morning to accommodate oversold express tickets. Most horrible experience ever. Why would anyone pay 300$ for this including express when Disney offers much more for less and more meaningful crowd control. Best ride in town Resistance has only 90 minutes when mediocre ride times 3 hours in this park. This is week of Dec 28th 21.

A real ripoff - 140$ (560$ for 4!) to spend the whole day waiting inline and just a few rides completed. What a waste of time and money!
There are indeed very few attractions for the number of tickets sold, hence completely overcrowded ; and even less are hardly worth the wait. Quality is overall quite low, queues have virtually no animation or decor making the wait boring.
All waiting times are systematically underestimated as all “express” folks will freeze the general queue as they proceed, and they are many! We were always standing still with the queue not progressing ; 60’ wait time announced on entering, ending over 180’ actual time!!! Never seen anything like this !
Plus on many attractions you have to leave your bag in (tiny) lockers (sometimes for a fee!) to access the tour and you finish your waiting 1h in the heat with no water. A real nightmare!
To complete the picture, without any mention of maximum height, and after 3h of wait I had to step out of the Harry Potter ride because the restraining bar was pushing hard on my shoulders and the attendant pushed down even more, arguing that it should go 2 clicks further! What kind of entertainment is this ? Torture ?

The park used to be really worth it 30years ago for movie enthusiasts, but now I do not recommend this park at all, unless you are ready to spend 300$ per person to get express pass. Never, ever again as far as I’m concerned.
Save your money and go to the beach! Or go to Disneyland Paris or in any Europe park where things are far better organized and the guys know how to make your experience enjoyable, even in the crowds.

Purchased nearly $500 in tickets in the beginning of the year through a special groupon deal....I contacted support to see if they would refund or extend my ticket beyond a year as everyone in my group is immunocompromised. At first I was told no and then the person admitted they don'tknow anything about my ticket type. I kept contacting them to have policy reviewed and no response for weeks now. They haven't done anything with my ticket type and I may have to eat that cost, which is especially difficult as I have been furloughed since early April.

Update August
I have been in touch with customer support who are attempting to rectify the situation. Appreciate the prompt replies and dedicated customer service.

Spent one day at this park. Had made several visits to the sister park in Orlando and was pleased with those trips, this on the other hand we will not repeat. We purchased early entry for the Nintendo experience as our young son loves Mario. Entered the Mario Kart ride and did our thing within the first half hour of the park opening for a great start to the day. We tried to enter and do it again knowing the demand and the wait was already 90 minutes just after 7:30 am which is what we were trying to avoid. Didn't do it the rest of the day as the wait times are obscene. Not only that once 8 am hits the Nintendo area of the park is unbearable, especially as hot as it is this summer in California. They really need to either build a bigger area or limit the number of people entering. That part of the park is great visually, but really a let down when it comes to execution. Be prepared to drop another $40 per child if you want to have the full experience as you need a micro chipped Mario wristwatch to enjoy the features. Same concept as the Harry Potter wand only lamer. About 9 am we headed out to the rest of the park. I tried to buy some yogurt at one of the restaurants. Made the purchase and then found out there weren't any spoons. Was told I could look for them at other food stops in the park. Uh no I won't and certainly not for a $12 yogurt that should cost no more than $3 outside the park. Just obscene greed at this place, it's utterly disgusting and a HUGE turnoff. Also bought an $18 refillable cup for soda, powerade, etc only to find out that Universal refuses to restock the machines with ice or drinks only lukewarm water and the queues at the restaurant are so long that it's pointless anyway. Did not get one refill out of the deal. We rode less than 10 rides the entire day (we were there over 12 hours) throughout the park and paid over $2k between lodging and park tickets. The studio tour was great as the wait was short and the ride interesting, but that's the only positive I can say about the ride experiences. We also visited other parks during our visit to Southern California that did not gouge the customer in such obscene ways that Universal does. California is expensive, however this Universal location is even beyond that. We as a family all agreed that we will never go back.

Universal studios was a lovely visit! So much fun. The park was clean, employees were kind and courteous, and the snacks/food were available when needed.
We purchased the admission tickets with the universal express addition. It can only be used once per ride per day. On hind site- we didn’t need to spend the extra money because the lines were short and the park wasn’t crowded. We went on a non holiday Sunday. But we considered the express purchase an “insurance policy” in case it was super crowded on the one day we were able to go.
LA county law states that masks must be worn indoor AND outdoor in public settings at all times. The park staff did a great job of enforcing this without being rude or overbearing.

Wondered if we needed more than a one day pass but we didn’t. At this time of year (January) lines were fine and we got there for the opening and spent whole day, leaving just on dark. Rides were great. Glad we didn’t get talked into getting VIP which would’ve cost an extra NZD$1000 approx for five of us
