Bjarni is a great warm host and guide! And Biggie is really warm with the local interests too! And SILFRA is other worldly. Came to dive as the center piece and it was! 🧊🍃🪨 it’s also in the golden circle so you can experience more when you are finished with your tip - get the go pro photos you’ll wanna remember this one!

Most of these other reviews are going to be about Silfra. So when I dropped my phone into Nauthusagil waterfall (close to Seljalandsfoss, 2 hrs away), I started calling every dive-->tour-->Vik company that I could Google, knowing that everyone would be at Silfra (and potentially unable to go elsewhere). Freedive with Birgir and Bjarni were the only ones who said they would be willing to try. I get where the other companies are coming from, with larger businesses, layers of mgmt, legal waivers, etc., but I can also see how smaller family-run businesses provide a personal response and flexibility that should be so highly respected and supported (I try not to eat at chain restaurants or stay at chain hotels for that reason). Bjarni made for great company on the long drives, keeping conversation to keep my mind from spinning; and he found the fully functional phone near instantly. I could not be more grateful to Freedive, and just from the caring and thoughtfulness from this essentially private tour, I can only highly recommend Freedive for any tour you decide to take with them.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! I can not put in words how great this tour was and so worth the money Biggi the owner was our tour guide and he was so GREAT and did an outstanding job with the equipment and taking care of my wife and daughter who had never done this before. I am so glad I booked with Freedive Iceland, the only company that offers wetsuit Freediving on Silfra while the rest are cumbersome drysuit snorkel tours that bob around on the surface. Birgir was a top bloke and excellent guide with a good sense of humour. He gave me a nice set of carbon fins and I had no trouble getting down to 10metres. The 7mm suits were very warm. If you have any Freediving experience, do this tour.

Check your gear! I went dry suit diving in the continental divide. I specifically got my dry suit certification for this dive. The owner and dive master were very nice and professional. The gear was brand new and nice. The moment I got in the water I felt a leak. I was told that it was impossible because the gear was brand new. They told me I could either keep diving or get out and cancel the dive being that I traveled all the way there. I trusted them, and continued with my dive, thinking that perhaps I was just feeling some of the cold water between the suit and my skin. When I got out, I had 2 gallons of water in my dry suit Upon checking the suit it seemed that they did not tighten one of the seals. I was so cold during the days that I couldn’t pay attention to anything else, other than the sensation of feeling cold water rush through my suit. It was only made worse by the fact that I was told it was impossible, and then it must be something I am just feeling. If you do decide to dive with this operation, I highly suggest you go over all of the equipment yourself before getting in the water.

The tour itself last 45 MN but it worth the money Water is 2C but your face is used to it after 2mn and your body is protected by 7mm suit Guys are fun. No clown fish seen

What an incredible experience!! We were a little nervous about how cold it would be, but all of the gear they provide is great and you really don't feel the cold. Our guide, Marcelo, was super friendly and made the whole experience very enjoyable. We would recommend this experience and company to anyone.

Best gear, best guides, best experience. Loved the vibe with Freedive Iceland, also as a freediver between snorkelers there was more then enough space to do what I wanted.

Amazing experience, mostly did snorkeling, but also got to do a little bit of diving. Silfra is beautiful, I could stare at and float in that turquoise water all day! Also now I have a new hobby I want to pursue ;) small group is always the best way to go for tours and I couldn't have asked for a better guide 😊 if and when I come back to iceland, I will definitely look up free dive iceland again!

One of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had! Marcelo was an amazing guide and teacher. The colors were incredible and exploring the depths was an amazing challenge.

Experience was brilliant, guide was very knowledgeable and very laid back so gave you plenty of freedom to enjoy it as you wanted whether you wanted to just snorkel or have a go at free diving. Very fun and not cold at all in the suits provided!

My partner and I both agree this was the highlight of our trip. Birgir and his team are amazing. Fun, friendly but I couldnt feel safer and more looked after, so professional while being fun. My partner did freediving while I snorkled and Birgir was amazing to ensure we're both getting the best experience. Views are stunning, water is not that cold and hot chockie tastes like michellin star meal after. And the drive there is amazing too. It's honestly the best. What a team, what views, what an experience! If I were to only do one activity in Iceland - this would be it! Thank you Birgir!!! We will be back

Absolutely INCREDIBLE experience! Highly Recommend . A great briefing , felt very safe . The equipment/ free dive wetsuit, gloves& socks are unbelievably warm so there is absolutely no need to worry about water temperature! A very relaxed free diving experience, nothing was rushed .

Highlight of my Trip to dive between two tech tonic plates and have an amazing guide. You have to experience it to really know how clear and clean everything is down there.
