Clean and just one of those Iceland experiences that you wouldn’t want to miss . My kids called it the red monster truck . It drove through piles of snow . The ice cave was awesome . Don’t think twice . Book it . They were very communicative when I checked about weather updates and a cancelled tour . The tours in Iceland are all weather dependent . I’m so happy that they took this tour out when we were thereWritten 20 February 2024

- 706jnk0 contributionsGlacier tour like no otherWe had a fantastic trip on the Sleipnir monster truck. Progress is sedate but the views en route to and on the glacier are amazing. We did experience a mechanical malfunction in the sub-zero temperature but our guide was brilliant and we got back safe, albeit slightly delayed. The trip was brilliant nonetheless.Written 15 February 2024
- jscopper0 contributionsAn experience that cannot be duplicatedVery cool truck. Fascinating scenery, narrated well by our guide. Crawling into the ice cave was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. Imagine yourself surrounded above and below by 300 year-old ice, perfectly lit. Magical!Written 11 February 2024
- mateuszp9480 contributionsAbsolutely amazing!I can honestly say that the experience was absolutely amazing! Driving this unique vehicle through deserted areas fully covered with snow was an adventure in itself. And of course, visiting a real ice cave is an experience that only a few can feel - completely unusual.Written 24 January 2024
- 785maddiep0 contributionsNatural beauty, incredible experienceThe tour guide and driver were so friendly and full of great information and stories! We had a fantastic time seeing the beautiful scenery on the drive up to the glacier, and then being able to go into the ice cave was an unforgettable experience. My glasses fogged up but their handrails helped me easily walk down the steps. 10/10 would recommend to others!Written 10 January 2024
- Jessica D0 contributionsRough weather but one in a lifetime experience!Odin’s Horse went over the river and past the one tree to get to the ice cave & it was amazing! The snow was deep and we saw other people get stuck but not our truck! It did take longer than usual to get to the ice cave but it was worth it! Be aware you have to crawl in backwards and the stairs down are very steep. You also can’t stand all the way up in the cave. We had hot chocolate and Jökla(like Bailey’s) and little donuts to warm up. Our group made snow angels while we waited. The ride back went much faster. It was amazing to be there knowing the glaciers will be gone someday! Thank you!!!Written 29 December 2023

We were looking forward this tour but were slightly disappointed by the structure of it. I would imagine the tour is difficult to arrange in a different way, after all this is a glacier, but the perhaps the short and limited amount of activity during the tour could lead to a lower price. 23,000 for 3.5h hours on the bus is really excessive. The journey from Gullfoss to the glacier is pretty long, with 2 stops on the way to take photos. You are simply taking photos of the mountains around and standing in snow, this does not lead to a magnificent experience to say the least. The final and longest stop (about 30 minutes) is far from exciting. The staff brings out little sleds for children so that you can slide up and down the mountain as if you are a child on a school break. The stop included cocoa powder and kleinur, presumably purchased at Bónus, the cheapest supermarket in the country. Although cute, these little details of the tour do not make it any more exciting; you are still a hefty price to join a bumpy ride on a massive truck whose stats, ironically, require an enormous amount of gas, and you´re en route to a melting glacier.

Dear Traveler,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
It helps a lot to improve our tours, so that it can be more enjoyable for the price.
We would actually love to know what day you were on the tour so that we can take a better look at it.
Sometimes the Icelandic weather is challenging, especially in the highlands where our tour takes place. For example, if it is too windy, unfortunately we are not able to play glacier golf and do the activities that we previously planned. However we always try to do our best to make sure that our tour is going to be as enjoyable and interesting as possible, for example offering some traditional snacks, Kleinur and some warm drinks. We noted your comments and we are working on better solutions towards offering better drinks.
Our truck consumes 40 liters of fuel/100 km and it can take up to 47 passengers. In other vehicles that drive on the glacier, for example a Benz Sprinter with 18 passengers takes 30 liters/100 km. If w
Additionally, we try to raise awareness towards sustainable tourism in Iceland, so we decided to give the option to our travelers to pay a small fee (optional) when they book directly with us to take responsibility for their own emissions. This amount then goes to United Nations, and here you can read me compare those two vehicles, then our truck is actually way more efficient and environmentally friendly.

The weather was poor and we didn't get to actually go to the glacier, but that's fine, weather happens, and there was the option to return again.
What really bothered us was that the girl who was our tour guide spoke very poor English, got a whole bunch of facts wrong, and wouldn't stop saying "uh.. uh.. uh..." every other word.
They played a string of Icelandic songs during the drive, trying to hype it up, but it was really just all a bit annoying.

This was a fantastic trip! Riding in the MASSIVE glacier truck was so fun, it was a bit bumpy but that just made it more exciting.
The view along the way was crazy; it was just white! So much white! You really noticed how small and insignificant you are (as well as this massive vehicle) compared to the vastness of the glacier.
Then, armed with crampons, we got to step into the ice cave. The cave was beautifully blue and you could see tiny air bubbles trapped inside the walls. There was also a streak of ash from a previous volcanic eruption. It was unbelievably cool!
I highly recommend this tour. It was so much fun and so cool. The guide was amazing and the company's customer service impeccable!

The expérience was amazing, you take place in a very very big truck and you climb on the glacier, we made some stop to take pictures, play golf, slide on sled directly on the glacier. We were able to taste Icelandic specialties during our stop on the glacier in the middle of nowhere.
During the trip you see the wonderfulls landscapes over Icelande.
The driver was so funny and our guide too. They have explained a lot of things about the glacier and some anecdotes all along the trip

On my bucket list for a long time. What surprised me most about the trip was how smooth the ride was. The truck almost glides through the glacier and the seats are wide and comfortable. My favourite part of the trip was visiting the ice cave. I had never seen one before nor imagined what it would look like. Being there in person I was blown away by how amazing those ice caves are.

This was an absolutely fantastic trip. We booked to go to the golden circle first and then met the Monster Truck in the afternoon at Gullfoss. The company were the most professional and organised of all the trips we went on during our stay in Iceland. We got regular email updates. It was such an amazing experience to ride on a glacier in the incredible monster truck. The guide and driver were excellent. We were very lucky with the weather and had beautiful blue skies. The ice cave was also a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this!

This was a great fun trip with our teenagers, even they were impressed with how rugged and tough the truck was bouncing and clawing it’s way across the rutted glacier.
Once we’d stopped and climbed down on to the ice it was a strange feeling to hear the water gushing beneath the frozen surface under you feet. A nice addition was the hot chocolate which was needed as you soon started to fell the cold up there despite the warm temperatures we had. A great day out!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! It's thrilling to hear that the adventure resonated with your entire family, even impressing the teenagers with the rugged capabilities of our glacier truck. Navigating the rough terrains of the glacier is a feat we pride ourselves on, and it's fantastic to hear you enjoyed that aspect.
We completely agree—the sounds of water flowing beneath the frozen surface are a unique and surreal part of the glacier experience. It brings an extraordinary dimension to the tour that we're glad you could witness.
We're also delighted to hear that our hot chocolate hit the spot. The glacier’s environment can be chilly, and it's the little touches like these that we believe make a difference.
Thank you for choosing us for your family adventure, and we’re thrilled you had a great day out! We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another exhilarating experience in the future.

Fun tour in the monster truck to see the glacier. We went during the 'in between' time of the off-road approach to the glacier being too slushy for safe driving on it so we didn't get to drive onto the glacier. Had we gone maybe a week or two earlier, or a week or two later once the snow had fully melted on the approach to the glacier, we could have gone all the way. Even so, Katrin and Martin were great guides. Martin guided us on a walk closer to the glacier and Katrin set up a drinks/snacks picnic. It was too slushy that day to go sledding. The views were spectacular and we learned a lot from both guides about the history and environment. The Icelandic music while driving was great and the scenery while driving was amazing. They were nice enough to give us coupons for another tour since the conditions made us unable to drive onto the glacier that day.

THE TOUR- This is a very well thought out and fun way to see the glacier. Our guide, Silke, was amazing with lots of information about Iceland and the glacier. You really feel on top of the world! It’s the perfect combination of indoor (riding the truck) and exploring the glacier “on your own.” They have fun activities and so much knowledge. Really is the best way to be on top of the world!
THE STAFF- Talk about going above and beyond. It just so happens that this particular day our guides were able to show us just how kind they are. First, a family joining our tour had car trouble, and we were all asked if we could spare ten minutes. Very considerate of everyone and making sure to accommodate. Then, on the way up the glacier, there was a tour truck that was stuck in the ice. Our driver, Helgi, took the time to pull him out of the ice! Made me very happy we were on the one and only custom built Sleipnir and not the modified trucks that say they don’t get stuck but do. Finally, they went above and beyond for us. We lost our keys on the glacier while sledding and didn’t notice until we got back to the parking lot. Helgi looked for them in the glacier the next day and Silke coordinated their return to the car rental company.
IN SHORT- Not only is this tour breathtaking with just the right mix of adventure and awe, the staff are really welcoming and kind people who do the right thing. This isn’t just customer service, it’s human kindness exploring the wonderful world!

It was indeed an eventful tour! In Iceland, and especially on a glacier, people help each other. If it is waiting for a few minutes to make sure a family will have a great trip, getting a stuck car back on track, or finding lost keys! ok, that last one was amazingly lucky ;)
Thank you so much for your kind words. We were happy to make your stop in Iceland special and worth remembering. We, Driver and Guide for sure will!
Take care :)
