    What to Expect
    Pilanesberg game reserve is in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province of South Africa, adjacent to Sun City. Pilanesberg National Park is the home of virtually every mammal of Southern Africa. Also home to the Big Five. Come and enjoy a day of Wildlife game viewing in specially adapted open 4x4 safari vehicles. Your guide will drive you through this nature reserve in search of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard). Not only will you search for these animals but also others that make the Pilanesburg their home, including Giraffe, Zebra, Hippo and various Antelope.

    After lunch, you will enjoy a closed vehilce safari drive in search of any animals that have elduded you on your safari thus far. We depart the National park between 15:00 - 15:30, depening on the game veiwing and return to your hotel in Johannesburg before sunset.

    Hi there Ely, We have different partners in the Pilanesberg,and with our 2x open vehicle packages which includes lunch, we unfortunately cannot take any kids younger that 6. However, we have another company that does take on kids younger than 6 years, but this is the half day option with the 1x open vehicle drive. Best regards, Michelle

    Decent, Not Great

    Good day, We are sorry to hear that you did not see a lot of animals in Pilanesberg. It is based on pure luck and everything that you do see is just a bonus to add to the experience. We have had guests see everything as they drive in, and we have also had many big 5 drives inside Pilanesberg, and then some of our guests complained that they saw absolutely nothing for hours and hours on end in the Kruger. It all just depends on when an animal decides to get up, walk across the road and make itself visible. Animals inside National Parks are very unpredictable because of the fact that they are not confined to one area of the park. The guide can only take you to places where certain animals were recently seen, and hope that they reappear so that you get to see them. Multiple sightings of lions and leopards can often occur in one day. It sounds like you have had a lot of luck with other National Parks. We wish you better luck if you do wish to return to Pilanesberg. Best regards, Michelle
