We booked directly (not through our cruise ship) and the excursion was overall seamless and enjoyable. Our party of six occupied all the seats in the helicopter. The views from the flight were amazing! We lucked out with beautiful sunny weather which I don’t believe is the norm. Our kids loved the dog sledding, taking turns as the secondary musher, and loving on the sled dogs. One downside to our experience was our family size, requiring us to be split (for the dog sledding) into one party of 4, with the remaining two combined in with another family. We would have preferred two groups of 3, since the photos will now have strangers in them. Still, we give a consensus thumbs up for this company and the adventure they provide.

This was an awesome experience. My family and I were on an Alaskan cruise, but I self booked this excursion. From start to finish the trip was fantastic. We loved our pilot Harley and Ashley our dog sledder were the best. I loved the fact that it was not crowded at all, we had the dog camp and glacier to ourselves. I will recommend this to anyone I come in contact with.

I have never been on a helicopter before and when they told me to sit in the front seat, I told them I was nervous. Our pilot Dane said not to worry and that I would be fine. He was right! Except for the times when he made turns and I closed my eyes, the flight and landings were so smooth! The amazing views were breathtaking and my fears just melted away. However, the highlight of our trip was being on the glacier with the dogs. We loved it! It was truly a magical experience! The sled goes around a few times and then stops for the dogs to rest plus you get off and play with these wonderful dogs. It also gives you a chance to just look around and soak in the beauty of your surroundings. We loved the dogs; they are friendly and ready to run! Absolutely worth it! This checked off a bucket list item but guess what? I want to do it again!
Checking in was a bit hectic. You need to have your documents ready and rush to be outfitted with boots, and then watch a safety video. The staff was good about fitting us in boots. There are waterproof jackets and pants if needed. We had our packable down jackets, gloves and hats and while it did snow a little bit, it just added to the experience. Use the restroom here in the office before flying because you won't get another chance until you return.
I wasn't as excited about the additional glacier landing because I was so over the moon with the dogsledding experience. When we got off the glacier, it was very icy, so my husband who just had knee surgery, and I walked around a little bit and then chose to stay near the helicopter while everyone else went a bit further. My adult son went with the pilot and saw deep crevices and blue ice and enjoyed hearing the pilot talk about the features of the glacier.

Definitely my worst experience I have ever had. Am on a special family cruise trip with my parents to celebrate my mom's retirement and decided to do this ultimate once-in-a-lifetime experience, but we ended up with a once in a lifetime stressed-out situation due to severe delays of the helicopter ride without prior notice. Our tour was supposed to start at 4.40pm but in reality it never began until 6pm. What's worse, nobody gave us heads-up about this delay prior to changing into warm clothes to prepare for the glacier. My old parents ended up in warm boots and heavy coats waiting for more than 1 hour in a warm room. Plus all of us are no longer in a relaxed mood to enjoy the ride but only to stressfully worry on whether we can make it back to the cruise ship in time which is due to depart at 8.30pm. We on the same ride as @274tedh and cannot echo more about all his points, esp. that the management here is lacking people skills. We ended up on a panic run to the van for the return to the cruise ship with our glacier boots on and almost missed our ship departure (we certainly missed our planned celebration dinner for my mom). This is for sure a once in a lifetime experience but in order to make sure it's a positive wow rather than a negative one would suggest to consider options from other operators.

My husband and I were on a cruise to Alaska and took this helicopter ride / dogsledding/ glacier walk last week. It was truly the highlight of our trip. Every single second was wonderful!
The staff on the ground - every one of them - was polite, professional and safety conscious.
The helicopter pilots that flew us there and back were informative and skillful.
The dog handlers and the mushers were friendly and really keen to have us get the best out of our experience during the dogsledding. They answered every question we had about their sport which I found fascinating.
The second stop on the lower part of the glacier was the cherry on the top. The turquoise of the melted glacier water was like no colour you can imagine regardless of how many photographs you may have seen of glacier water.
Luckily we had taken an empty water bottle with us like so many reviewers suggest, so we filled it up with this beautiful, pure, ancient water which tasted like it looked - magical, clear, cool and unique! Heaven!!
We have both said we never want to forget even a minute of that experience.
Thank you to everyone involved who made it go so smoothly for us. 10/10 **********

The staff met us on time at the said location. Unfortunately, they had bad news for us. Our excursion was canceled due to bad weather. We were so disappointed because this was the excursion we were looking forward to the most. The staff left and we were trying to figure out a plan "B".

Within roughly 15 minutes, they called us back to see if we could do it at a later time; the weather was clearing. We said yes, and around 12:30 they were back to pick us up.

After a short passenger briefing video, they got us the boot covers we needed. We were then led out to the helicopter and met our pilot, Ben. They made sure we were all safely belted in and had hearing protection. Once we were all set, Ben began our ascent to take us to the glacier where we would be dogsledding.

Upon our arrival, the staff there greeted us and talked briefly about the dogs and the camp there. Then they assigned us a musher and introduced us to the dogs. Off we went. It was amazing! We all took turns in different seats and standing on the back of the sled (simulating mushing). After we were finished, we got to visit with the dogs and even hold the resident puppy. They then packaged us up and off we went with Ben to land on another glacier.

Words cannot describe the beauty, tranquilness and smell of the glacier. The turquoise pools in the ice were incredible. We even drank water from one. It was the purest water I've ever tasted. After approx. 20 minutes,it was time to head back to base. Ben pointed out things along the way.

Simply can't say enough about the professionalism and safety of the staff. The excursion was outstanding and created memories for a life time.

I cannot even begin to express how amazing this experience was. I literally teared up posting our pictures the next day. We absolutely loved our pilot, Josh. He was so kind, patient and informative. The sights from the helicopter were breathtaking and the glacier landing was unreal. Not to mention the dogsledding experience! James & Josie were our guides and did an awesome job. (The entire staff was awesome, actually.) TBH, for our family, it was painful booking such an expensive excursion, but it was worth every penny and we CANNOT imagine our trip without it. The adventure of a lifetime. It will not disappoint!

We booked this through Coastal Helicopters not the cruise line. They were great from booking with prompt answers to questions and friendly service. The ground team was helpful and professional. Pilot did a great job and it didn't hurt that it was a beautiful sunny afternoon after a rainy morning. This really was one of the highlights of our cruise. The tour gave us plenty of time to dogsled and time with the dogs and puppies and time to walk around on the 2nd stop . Just beautiful! Would highly recommend them .

What a day, one of my most exciting travel adventures. Flying over Juneau in the helicopter was spectacular. Our guide, Josh, talked about the history and topography. The glacier was exceptional, with views all around, walking with special shoes and enjoying the best nature has to offer. What a treat to visit the dog camp. We learned about the dog's environment, were actually able to pet the dogs and then went for an actual sled ride. We even held puppies. Coastal was professional, organized and
the ride was so smooth. I felt safe the whole time. The entire staff was highly trained. Not to be missed... this should be Number 1.

We had a great experience on this excursion! The staff was friendly in the van on the way to the airport, and the crew at the base made it easy to get the right equipment (boots and coats, if needed). The beauty during the helicopter trip to the dog camp (and glacier) was truly breath taking. Our pilot(s) made us feel comfortable and safe. The dog sled experience was really neat! (I understand some *other* companies do dog sledding on grass?? Not here, only beautiful SNOW) The dogs were healthy and seemed well cared for. Our leader, Katherine W, gave us lots of details on the dog care. After we left the dog camp, we had a wonderful touch down on a glacier. I can't express how COOL that experience was! It is worth the extra $$ to see (and sip!) the bright blue water!
