About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BN3100 contributionsHiking and Swimming in WaterfallsSwimming in the waterfalls was amazing. The 2 hours of strenuous hiking from the bus to the first 2 caves was very difficult and not disclosed in the description of the excursion, however. Also very long 2 hours bus ride each way to and from the Presidente Figuereida National Park. Our guide, Miguel, was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, a great experience though.Written 16 January 2025
- im440 contributionsNot sure any valueIf coming in via a cruise ship you will see the mixing of the waters. In our forest walk produced nothing in the way of wildlife…Written 14 January 2025
- TrptMan720 contributionsSafely transported to hotel on time, but in a smaller, older personal car.The driver met us ontime and got us to the hotel safely. Unfortunately, we were not picked up in the van that’s pictured on TripAdvisor. It was his personal older little car that barely made it up the overpasses. I was a little concerned about getting to the hotel safely, but he did get us there.Written 14 January 2025
- Chris C0 contributionsBasic but amazing. Real TimeoutAn amazing trip. Everything was made so easy by the team. The lodge we stayed at basic but excellent the team couldn't do enough. Food was amazingWritten 3 January 2025
- mjadala0 contributionsJungle trek and River cruiseWe had a great experience. Our guide Daniel was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining and showing us the flora and fauna. We were picked up at 7:30 AM and dropped off at 5:30 PM. We drove for 1 hour where we got on a canoe for a jungle cruise on a smaller tributary of the Rio Negro. We did a 1.5 hr walk through the jungle. The followed a fishing experience for Piranha fish. Continued to visit a jungle lodge for lunch. More river cruise to reach the Rio Negro near the largest fresh water Archipelago. We felt like we got the experience we paid for.Written 2 January 2025
- Maps7812080 contributionsVery disappointingThe fireworks lasted for 15 minutes. For this, we were picked up at 7:30 pm, taken to an uncomfortable boat where we sat in plastic chairs for hours, and served inferior food. We would have been prisoners on the boat until 3 am (we had not been told this) except that 50 of us banded together and paid a small boat to take us back to the docks. If you want to see the fireworks (which are nice), I recommend hiring a small boat locally. If you are 3 or more people, it will cost about the sameWritten 1 January 2025
- steven r0 contributionsRewarding 1/2 Day River Trip from ManausThis was an awesome 1/2 day adventure. Our tour guide, Francineto, took us to the Rio Negro, an Indian village were we saw a show, swimming with the dolphins. Lunch was all you can eat and wonderful. There were a couple of stops to buy souvenirs. Francineto was a great tour guide. You could tell he takes great pride in his job. He was constantly interacting with all his guest (40+tourist). He and his team kept us safe while on the boat and everyone returned home safe. I’d recommend this trip if you are short on time in Manaus. Seeing the Rio Negro was the highlight of the tour for me.Written 25 December 2024

- B1159GXmattc0 contributionsViaje MágicoI wish I had more words to describe how incredible this experience was! From the time Francisco picked me up to the time Paolo dropped me off after an awesome tour of the selva and through the Rio Negro…it was magic! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants an authentic Brazilian experience. Truly I am so grateful to have gone and to have met such beautiful people!Written 18 December 2024

My experience with their Shaman was incredible - I have come back to Manaus multiple times and used this company. Highly recommend.Written 17 December 2024
- alexlY6499LP0 contributionsThree day, two night jungle lodge adventureI booked a three day, two night tour. The adventure was well organised, from airport pickup through to transport to the lodge and then transport back and dropoff at the hotel I was staying at in Manaus. I spoke with some other people who did the exact same tour though, and they paid half what I did, and I was guided by a different operator, and not Leo or his team. We didn't go to the Paricatuba region mentioned in the guide either, but to a different lodge, Ipanama Lodge on the Parana do Mamori, which has less stars on Google reviews. The lodge was ok, but very basic. Food was the same every day. The people were lovely, of course! I had an amazing, if sometimes difficult time, and the guide was awesome. We caught pirana, saw river dolphins and camped overnight and walked for hours in the jungle, but still, I think that I should have booked direct with a lodge rather than go through this third party. Also note that sloths, toucan, monkeys and other creatures are hard to spot! I emailed Leo about the cost, and about some details, and he responded with a grumpy email saying I accused him of being a thief, which was a little unpleasant.Written 11 December 2024
- S1862PIjosephm0 contributionsAmazing ExperienceBeing only able to speak English, and having done other tours where this was problematic, Billy made sure that he included me in all conversations, throughout, not just as a “tagline” at the end of the conversation in Portuguese. From the moment Billy met me at my hotel, I knew that this was going to be a professional tour, unlike previous tours I had done the two days prior, with another business. Along the drive to our boat, Billy kept us informed, not only about landmarks and historical information, but also about what they would be doing, e.g. stops along the way. The boat ride through the river, leading up to the Rio Negro, was full of beauty and commentary from Billy, who showed immense pride in his homeland, (with the occasional swim here and there). The lunch that Paulo and his wife put on, was amazing. Paulo’s teachings while we walked through the jungle, translated constantly by Billy, was amazing, allowing us to sample some of the liquids and excretions from the trees and plants, as is still practiced today. Even on the journey back to the hotel, Billy was still upbeat and effervescent. I cannot recommend this tour enoughWritten 5 December 2024
- Shezad S0 contributionsExcellent experience, friendly guides. Would recommendExcellent experience throughout. There was always an activity in the morning and the afternoon and plenty of time to chill out. The food was great and cooked fresh every day and the guides were knowledgable. The lodge was basic but has everything you needed - easily the best wifi I’ve had anywhere I’ve stayed. Thank you anaconda team.Written 4 December 2024

- K4931MEalejandrac0 contributionsBEWAREThe listing states a jungle tour, but the one listed activity for an "educational jungle walk" on day 2 says it was 2.5 hours, and it was actually only one hour. Those of us who did not pay extra for participation in a native ritual/ceremony had to sit outside with nothing to do, no one to guide us, until the rest of the group was done. We did not get to interact with the local natives or buy anything from them as souvenirs even though this was a huge selling point for the trip for us. There was no education on their way of living or farming techniques. There was no sunrise tour in the jungle. There was no free swim in the river. There was no canoe paddling. We spent most of our time on an uncovered canoe with a small motor for hours, unprepared with extra coverage for our heads or backs during peak sun hours. Many in our tour group were unwell from the heat by the end of our trips out, and one of our friends had extreme heat exhaustion, leading to us not going on the piranha fishing expedition. While on many expeditions, the guide would simply say "we're leaving now" and then head out, not checking we all heard or were going, when we actively chose not to go for the piranha fishing, he was rude and snapped at us, switching to Portuguese to say curses, assuming we wouldn't understand. They stated on day one the itinerary would be varied based on the weather, but the changes were not communicated to everyone each day, so we were told to dress for a jungle hike in long clothes the following day, and then actually spent the entire morning on a canoe under the scorching sun unable to get proper air flow or sweat to keep us cool. Toilets and showers were clogged and there was no toilet paper or soap.Written 26 October 2024

We brought our littles (3yo, 2yo, and 1yo) on the four-day excursion (including overnight in the rainforest) and every one of us had an experienced that was above and beyond any trip we have ever taken. The guides are sweet with kids and our littles already miss them. The schedule is comfortable and we could get naps in every day, and that’s without paying for a private guide. They take your preferences and needs into consideration. In our case, we love to swim, and they made sure to stop at great swim spots every occasion possible, like at sunset every single day. They accommodated when our toddlers were too tired to do the full trail hike after the overnighter outdoors. They provided a heavier-duty life jacket to our 3yo who prefers to sit at the front of the boat at all times, and they made sure he had a great time fishing for piranha and let him hold the baby cayman we found on the banks! The food is delicious and there are several nutritious and authentic kid-friendly options. They went out of their way to provide my daughter with cold milk for breakfast, which is outside of their custom and was very special for her. My favorite aspect of the tour was how respectfully and patiently they treated our children. We parents could enjoy ourselves and let our kids be kids without having to worry about annoying the adults around. They had a great time being kids, seeing animals and incredible plants, going on adventures, and swimming!!
I recommend bringing cash tips for the native visits, rubber rain boots, long sleeves and long loose pants to avoid bites, rain jackets, three times the amount of repellent you think you’ll use, a huge jug of water and plenty of snacks for the room if you travel with kids. Meals are at 7am, noon, and 7pm, which was less frequent than my littles were used to eating. Also, we brought water wings for our kids as it’s impossible to swim without floatation devices in the middle of a river. Also, I bought a bar of laundry detergent for R$2,00 before the trip and I’d recommend hanging clothes on the rails outside from Day 1. It’s very humid and warm and muddy if you’re having lots of fun like we did!
Oh, it was just fantastic. I am so glad we made this bold plan, and the kids truly rose to the occasion and had even more fun than I thought possible from planning it. It really raised the bar on all of our family trips and adventures from now on. Highly recommend! Just do it!

Absolutely unforgettable experience spending 4 days at the lodge!
I would 100% recommend this tour for the people who are coming to Manaus for the first time and wants to see the Amazon from close up.
I think 4 days / 3 nights is the best option, so you can experience everything. The program is well built with 2 activities everyday: Morning + evening, leaving time to relax, have lunch and not to overwhelm an overall experience. It also gradually builds your excitement for light canoeing and fishing experiences on the first day, to exploring the jungle and finally spending night at the rainforest.
I would rate this experience 9/10, as there some things that could be improved, but we didn't even receive information about possible options up front.
1st - on the day 3 you have a chance to meet 'local people', which for most of the tourists are understood as meeting indigenous people, but unfortunately that's not the case. Due to the local laws you could pay extra for this and I believe many people would do this, but it wasn't in the pack.
The same as sleeping in the rainforest vs dry land. Luckily our guide could take us in the rainforest for extra fee, but it wasn't provided by the company as an option.
Apart from these 2 points and minor facility issues (pluming wasn't working, buy they quickly changed the room, also not possible to pay with cards, even if advertised differently), the experience was AMAZING and major of it is thanks to Marcus - exception guide who made our stay truly special!

I did the 4-Day Amazon Jungle Adventure Tour with my Dad and we would highly recommend this trip - especially if you book with Leonardo. He is very helpful and quick to respond!
Food and accommodation were both great, just remember you are staying in the Amazon so don't expect luxury. Catching a piranha and eating it for lunch the next day was a definite highlight! As with any outdoor adventure, the weather can dictate the activities, but our guide Maxi was excellent and knew how to plan our activities around any rain.
One tip - make sure to take a printed copy of your included activities and itinerary. Some included activities we were asked to pay for at the camp, but showing a copy of our booking cleared up any confusion right away.

My trip to Brazil was my first time travelling alone and I was not sure what to expect. I booked this tour and it was fantastic. It took a while to get through to someone to confirm my transfers from Manaus airport, but once I got hold of a contact number everything was confirmed and sorted very quickly. The accommodation and food is basic but very good if you consider that you are going for a Jungle experience and not staying in a resort. I spent one night camping in the jungle in hammocks and that was incredible. The other activities were just as good. The diversity in the amazon is insane and the guides who run the camp and the activities are wonderful. They made me feel very safe and were very knowledgable about the local flora and fauna. As an ecologist I have done similar trips for either work or leisure and can say that for the price, this is the best have done so far.

I did 4 days and 3 nights adventure tour. It was an amazing experience- overnight jungle camping was an absolute experience - making plates, spoon with woods, cooking, sleeping on the hammock etc. Highlights - the nature itself, birds, fishing, alligator spotting, hiking etc. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Accommodation at anaconda resort was really good, considering the fact it's in the jungle. Internet connectivity was slow, but does work at some spots. It's a rain forest, can rain any time, so must have raincoat or poncho. I forgot, so I was getting wet in rain every day lol. Overall, if you are looking for jungle adventure, I would highly recommend.

My fiancé and I didn’t have a good experience with this operator. After reading all the good reviews, we were really looking forward to this tour and the contact with Leonardo before the tour was good. But it turned out our guide was very unmotivated, and at some times even rude. The information about (life in) the Amazon that the guide was supposed to share was véry minimal (while we were really looking forward to this), and we even had to ask/convince the guide to go spear fishing (which was on the programme), but he didn’t want to do it because he wanted to sleep early. I really think that we shouldn’t be asking/convincing our guide to do things that are already on our programme (and paid for!).
On top of that, during the tour we found out that a lot of people paid way less than we did (someone in our group even paid half of what we paid and she even had one day more!). We understand that there can be price differences and people can negotiate for a better price, but the price difference with the rest of our group just felt really unfair.
The rest of the activities were really cool and the Amazon is amazing, but the guide didn’t contribute to that in any way. We recommend to book with another operator!

I had a really great experience with this tour. The guide’s English was impeccable and so he could explain all the facts about all animals and plants that we saw. The trip works in the following way: you’re being picked up from the hotel and brought to the port. At the port you hop on a boat and cruise over to the other side of the Amazon river. From there it’s another 2-3 hour ride and another short boat trip to the lodge. The lodge itself was very basic but definitely sufficient. The food was homemade and great. You meet a lot of other tourists at the lodge and during the activities and especially the activities really create a bond among all the participants. We did a lot of unique activities like piranha fishing, hiking in the jungle, sleeping in the jungle and looking for baby alligators in the night. Overall a great and unique experience.

Wellington our guide was excellent - giving us a tour of the medicine trees, sleeping in the jungle in a hammock one night, and doing sunrise and sunset wildlife boat trips. The piranha fishing was really good fun too. The lodge was well equipped with a room with a fan, very tasty and varied food for breakfast lunch and dinner - fish, chicken and beef. Generally very quiet, pleasant and lovely to get away from WiFi!
Would recommend the trip - memorable experience.

We did 4 days 3 nights in November, which is near the end of the dry season. There were some positives, including many of those mentioned in other reviews. I enjoyed piranha fishing and saw plenty of interesting animals. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and was a great guide to have on some of our excursions. However there were some major negatives.
Firstly, whilst the tour guide was great on some of the excursions, he was very unprofessional at times. This includes drinking on the job, seemingly arguing with everyone else at the lodge (and trying to drag us into it), and knocking on our door hours after bedtime to ask us for booze in the middle of the night.
Secondly, the trip was limited by the dried up rivers. It was hard getting round, and so there just weren't enough things to do for 4 days. I wish I had known that before I booked. If you are going in November I would definitely not recommend a stay as long as hours.

I booked 4 days 3 nights in the Amazon rainforest. The lodge where we slept was dirty, shabby and often lacked water. The Guide was constantly confusing with excursions and groups of people, in fact in the end they made me skip a couple. Recommendation to go to another agency.

Is it advisable to pay when you get to Manaus rather than much earlier? I have been advised to send money via PayPal but automatically I become fearful about never hearing from a company again after they have my money...
Written 27 August 2019
We paid after getting picked up in Manaus, it wasn’t the the most usual transaction, which may be why PayPal is now an option (it wasn’t for us). I do understand your reservations, and I can only say that if we were to re-book I wouldn’t have a problem paying up front, but by all means pay in Manaus if it’s both an option and makes you feel better, I’m sure the very pleasant staff would facilitate.
