DC - Custom Tour - Excellent!
Aug 2021
Great experience! Tom did a great job telling us the history of each monument during out trip. I took my Vietnam Veteran father as part of his "bucket list"... a trip that he will never forget! Highly recommended!

Iowa loved this tour!
Myself and two children, 19 & 22, had the best all day tour we could have ever imagined. We had no set plan when the day started but after Tom asked us about what we wanted to see and some things he suggested we were off. We were all so thrilled at the end with how our day turned out. This was the best way to see D.C., Arlington, and even Alexandria. Best tour ever. Thank you for the unforgettable day!

Marnie, I’m so glad Tristan and Morgan enjoyed the day too. I love customers from Iowa as Hawkeye public education is the best in the Union. Therefore, Iowans are always prepared to learn, even on holiday. Best wishes. Tom

Fantastic experience! Tom is extremely knowledgeable and gave us in-depth information on each site we visited. Given the various site closures because of the virus restrictions, his expertise was particularly helpful. He really went above and beyond and provided an enjoyable, tailored experience based on our preferences. Highly recommend!

Amazing! Like one of the family!

What can we say? Tom is friendly, super prepared, always on time, extremely knowledgeable, and works hard to maximize “your” fun time.

We got to do things we hadn’t thought of (the stables at end of day were a highlight) and he made excellent suggestions regarding schedules, eating stops, and weather. Tom was helping us make scheduling decisions before we even got to DC. And, he always found ways to make it interesting for the teen-monsters too!

Tom also saves you soooo much time and effort by already having tickets on hand for stops and is hyper focused on service to his customers. This saved us a LOT of time by not standing in lines or derailing our schedule just to be waiting to gain access to activities. His efforts will allow you to maximize the time you have for seeing things and not waste it waiting around. This alone makes him a necessity in DC. There is so much to do/see and Tom makes this happen with low stress (none of those arguments you see other families dealing with).

And, as if these other aspects weren’t enough of a reason to work with Tom already, he has a wonderful personality. We all instantly took to him and were talking about our experiences like he was a close uncle we were visiting here.

Again, simply amazing! Do yourself a favor and book Tom early; it’ll make all the difference in the world for your vacation.

Washington DC tour with US Veteran deserves an A+
Aug 2019
After just a few phone calls with Tom I knew this was going to be a great day. Indeed it was! Tom picked us up (my husband, my daughter and I) at our hotel in a very comfortable car. Tom is very easy to get along with. Not only did he show us around Washington DC but he often had anecdotes to tell us which made our tour even more interesting. Even if our day was geting close to the end of our 6 hour tour, Tom crossed over the city to give us a tour of the US Army Horse and Caisson Barn. We were lucky enough to see a team coming back from a Mission at the Arlington Cemetary. This was just amazing and unforgettable. Tom has been very generous of his knowledge and his time with us. I strongly recommend this tour for anyone thinking of visiting Washington DC. This tour was the highlight of our trip. Thanks Tom and see you next time we go to Washington DC!

DC Military Tours is THE WAY TO GO!
Jul 2019 • Couples
We reviewed a couple companies and settled on this one due to their flexible options and best pricing. Tom (our guide) was AWESOME! We weren’t sure what to expect but he was great- the tours he provided were top notch every single place we decided to go. He was fun to talk to and knew all the insider scoop stuff to give us the beat experience in a short amount of time. Not only did he exceed expectations but he even took the time to help us plan our following day’s activities and give us tips and suggestions. We met us at Arlington, provided ice cold bottled water while he drove us to our destinations in his super clean and comfortable SUV with ease. GET this tour, we did the 6 hour and it was the highlight of our time in DC. You WONT regret it! Thanks so much!

Outstanding tour and outstanding guide!

My husband and I had a fantastic time with Tom this past Saturday on a custom private tour. I planned a weekend in DC as a surprise birthday getaway for my husband, who lived in DC for a summer so had already done most of the major tourists stops many times over, and who is a huge history (and particularly military history) buff. Tom worked closely with me to create the perfect itinerary and patiently answered all of my questions prior to booking. The day itself was seamless - Tom arrived promptly to pick us up at our hotel and drove us around in his comfortable SUV, equipped with bottled water. We visited some excellent sites that I would never have thought to check out without Tom's recommendation, including the Navy Yard and the fascinating Navy Museum, and the Caisson Platoon Barn at Fort Myer. Both of these were really remarkable and worthwhile visits - and we had them nearly all to ourselves on a busy Saturday during cherry blossom season! The tour also included lunch at the Army Navy Country Club, which was lovely. In the afternoon, we visited the Anderson House, home of the Society of the Cincinnati, which was a beautiful home, but unfortunately the docent giving the guided tour there was not terribly good - I would have preferred Tom to give the tour himself! Tom even drove us over to the National Building Museum so we could pick up our bibs for the following day's Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, and dropped us back at our hotel at the end of the day. I'm so glad that we booked this tour - it was certainly a highlight of our weekend and, though not inexpensive, was worth every penny. Tom was extraordinarily knowledgeable, personable and clearly loves what he does. I would not hesitate to recommend DC Military Tours to anyone visiting the area!
