- NorthStar153328783750 contributionsYes to the Fireflies, No to the tourThe fireflies were nice to see (not as specacular as in the pictures), the boat ride was fun. However, I had some issues: 1) Price: The value for money on this one was just not good for me (note: booking via tripadvisor one day in advance the tour was around 350MYR for me!). Taking a grab from KL there and back would have been cheaper in total. They ask for 50MYR for the tour on site. 2) Even though it was so expensive, the "blue tears" experience had to be purchased extra for 50MYR. 3) The food. You can book this tour without the food for quite some money less. I highly recommend to NOT book the food, it is very average and way to expensive for it (was over 100MYR for me!). Also, our driver was also our guide, however there was not much information. He was very nice, but I would have liked a little more information about the river, the area and so on. For this price having a dedicated guide seems reasonable. All in all an average experience, I would book with another (cheaper) company.Written 17 March 2024

- MarkMyWords670 contributionsNot sure it's worth the effort of goingWe visited Melaka in middle of March 2024 which happened to be the first week of Ramadan. We caught a coach from TBS in KL and it took around 2 hrs and cost around MYR 50 for 2 people return - approx £5 each. The tourist bit of Melaka is a very tiny bit of the whole Melaka city - which is quite big and just like any other modern Malaysian city. The old tourist area is a very very small area and you can easily do the main bits in half a day - it's is a pure tourist spot. Being Ramadan, the majority of tourists we saw were non-muslim and we're about 99% Chinese. Most tourists seemed to be brought in by coach so quite literally swamped the place from around 9am to 5pm - the place is packed with big groups who take over the place and are very noisy . Getting a nice photo without loads of people is impossible - no idea how the travel books/website do it. The main sites in Melaka are all close together and typically for Malaysia could be presented better - in my view it's not that great a place and personally I wasn't a fan but it's a 'tick box' place to visit. As it was Ramadan, many restaurants were closed due to lack of business - the coach loads either didn't eat in Melaka or seemed to eat at one big restaurant ( where the coach companies had a deal ?). There may be more choice at other times. It's not a pretty city really, and although the tourist books tell you about places to get 'great' views, we couldn't find one - all you can see is a sprawling modern city that isn't that pretty Overall I'd say Melaka is massively over-hyped and the tourist books make it seem far more attractive than it really is. It is only a short drive from KL (80 miles approx) and cheap to get to, so worth a short visit. Really don't recommend anything more than an overnight stay otherwise you will end up with nothing to do.Written 16 March 2024

- Od10 contributionsTwinkling Fire Flies and Cute MonkeysOur driver guide Rajan was excellent, informative and friendly, excellent vehicle, safe and comfortable. Fair value for tour. Option to do eagle feeding out in the boat, 50RP, before the firefly trip, and blue plankton on the sand trip, after the fire flies, where the ocean meets the river, also 50RP. All 4 on our tour declined, I guess that you would have to wait if some went, if you choose the share option in the first place, but there is a restaurant where u can wait. The boat is basic, one engine, fits about 30 people, so others join you for this part of the tour. I loved the fireflies and was very happy, but others in my group were disappointed, I guess it depends upon what u expect! I saw the odd one, then groups of five, then a few groups of about twenty or more, all flashing very bright. Great what a little bug can do! Meal was fine, nothing to sing home about, but good and plenty. Monkeys were georgous, seemed gentle and not scarey, but beware of feeding them if u dont want to be jumped on!Written 15 March 2024
- artemp2650 contributionsGood trip for one time visitingHey, buddies. What to share my experience with this trip. 1. Overall trip was really nice. Drive is super kind and vibe was cute and comfortable. Places were pretty simple, but local and interesting. 2. But, it turns out that the information in the description is rather incomplete. Keep in mind that you will be asked for an additional 50RM if you go to see the blue ties (and you won't have much choice), and also if you go to feed the eagles (but it's understandable). It is not in the description and you need be care about it and clarify with your company before start. Enjoy your trip and take careWritten 11 March 2024

The driver was a nice chap but I feel like I spent double what the tour was worth and sadly would only recommend it if you're cashed up and lazy 3/5. Sorry.Written 11 March 2024

Gave us plenty of opportunities to take photos, stop for comfort breaks if necessary. Asked us if we were happy with what we were seeing, the pace we were going and gave us free time to explore too. Our lunch was good, local Malaysian food - all fresh and tasty. Transport was very comfortable and cool - good for the long trip. We enjoyed our day - would recommend.Written 9 March 2024

- Jet523988425230 contributionsAn interesting eco-experience.It was well worth the visit, with a 20 minute stop at a beach accessible only by boat. It was depressing though to see the waste such as pastic bottles and detritus left by other visitors, as well as flotsam. the veiegation above the level of the mangroves was depressingly stressed by the lack of water (no rain since October) - global warming? The Sea Eagles performed for us and we met the monkeys and visited the bat cave; the lunch provided was simple but what one needed. The lack of obvious bird activity may have been a function of the time of day or perhaps the very arid conditions. The fish ecosystems seemed however to be teaming. Be prepared to pay to use the loos shoreside.Written 7 March 2024
- IlovebelizeCA0 contributionsTake Time To Visit The Butterfly ParkTake time to visit the Butterfly Park while in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the variety of butterflies in the middle of the city. They have created a rainforest habitat with a maze of footpaths winding through lush vegetation, across bridges over koi ponds, past waterfalls, gazebos and turtle ponds. They also had a collection of beetles, stick insects and other insects, millipedes, etc. that we checked as well.Written 7 March 2024

The trip hosted by Lawrence (driver) was great! I was able to fit in two extra sight-see's into my day which was a great surprise and much appreciated. There was a malfunction/miscommunication with the ticket I needed for the cable car up to Genting Highlands, which took time out of my day to troubleshoot and fix but got there in the end. The driver was very prompt and I felt safe throughout the whole experience. Highly recommend the Genting Highlands day excursion / one for my travel books, for sure.

Read a couple of reviews where people had bad experiences of queuing for the Cable Car etc, and yes, we did have to wait about twenty minutes, but the staff work really hard to keep everything moving in an orderly fashion. Maybe we were just lucky the day we visited (Sunday, 5th of January)
We had a fabulous day!
Will definitely visit again when we next visit Kuala Lumpur.
Thank you, to all the staff for a lovely day.

TIP BEFORE YOU BOOK:
It is cheaper to buy your own sky cable ticket when you are there instead of including it in your tour expenses. It was only 10 RM for a one way ticket, and 18 RM for a two way ticket.
This also applies to theme park tickets (both indoors and outdoors). I think it was around 170 RM only for the outdoors one. We LOVED it.
So get the cheapest tour ticket that will get you to Genting Highlands then purchase your own tickets there.
We unfortunately did not have a guide so we ended up doing our own research with the temples, but it was okay nonetheless! Also, the driver was really nice and polite so it did not feel like a completely bad thing.
It’s not a very far drive from Kuala Lumpur and it was very relaxing.

We were expected to have small stops at farm and caves, but basically the tour is your ride to the skyway with a stop at the chocolate shop and the ride back. That’s it. But the cable car ride is awesome!

It is very disappointing that we didn't touch your tour expectations, we are very really sorry but the issue you mentioned is uncommon and its a very rare case as you can check our all existing reviews and you will never find such a shocking experience.
We cannot overlook our valued customer's feedback and we always used that review to analyze our services to refine our weakness. Our itinerary is different for private and shared tours. Normally we cover more spots in private as compare to shared tour but to find the real picture, I want to investigate this issue personally but didn't track your Booking reference number starting from BR--------------. You are requested to please provide me your booking reference number
through +60196969325 or email us ota@asnitours.com, which will help us to sort out as soon as possible because low ratings directly affect our business repo.
Thanking You

Our driver was fine, but I would advise anyone over about 50 to avoid Genting like the plague! It was certainly not our cup of tea.
The gondola trip was good, but the technology required to get the tickets onto our phone was beyond us, resulting in our driver having to purchase other tickets. I trust he will be reimbursed by the company for this.
On arrival at the top, the sheer noise and confusion put us right off. And it was impossible to find somewhere to sit down with a decent cup of coffee. We took the gondola back down pretty quickly.
The outlet mall was OK, but underwhelming.
Altogether a waste of a day, but I would emphasise again that we had no issues with Rajan, our driver.

We hired a car with a driver to take us to the Skyway Cable Car. The views were spectacular especially going both ways. The Cablecar is very safe and the Staff were helpful. We also visited the Outlet shopping which was having Sales. There were extensive Food Outlets on the lower. We lunched at the Korean Restaurant

Punctual and decent driver but there was no guide. We had to google what we were looking at. The vehicle was comfortable and the drive itself was nice.
Genting heights was so beautiful. The chin swee temple so lovely, and so was the outdoors theme park.

A nice contrast from Kuala Lumpur. A pretty drive up.
It is an outlet location Many upmarket brands have shops there.
There are a few reasonably priced restaurants.
We took a Grab up and bus back down to KL.

Does the sharing tour allow you to stop and explore at Batu Caves?

I reached Batu caves on my own by taxi, spent some time there, then took another taxi to reach Genting Highlands. Both are in the same direction away from KL and it is advisable to visit both places in the same trip. If you hiring a sharing tour to Genting Highlands, thenthey may stop to Batu Caves for some time - Need to check with your tour organiser. I did not use any tour organiser. Went on my own by Taxi on the same day. Hope this is helpful.

You can spend enough time there, no restrictions, but it is always advisable to come back before the sunset. Reaching there early hours is a nice experience.
