About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 288klarad0 contributionsA wonderful guide, who knows how to navigate Tokyo. Our private tour with Masatoshi Fujii ( Masa) was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about Japan, the culture, the history. All our questions were answered and he was very good at organizing our chosen itinerary of visits. He is a really nice and friendly man who really went the extra mile to make sure we were able to do everything we wanted to do- including an out of the blue request to visit the Pokemon Store to buy gifts for the grandchildren! Thank you very much Masa San .Written 10 November 2024
- michelleann20140 contributionsThe Best Day!We had such a fun time with Yoshi and loved our day in Kanazawa, where there's so much to see and do. We saw the beautiful Kenrokuen garden, Kanazawa Castle park, the teahouse district and the Oyama jinja shrine. He went out of his way to find the most delicious sushi restaurant for us and we definitely enjoyed choosing artisanal soy sauce from the place that makes it. Yoshi is an expert guide and he and our driver took such good care of us. It was just the perfect day in Japan.Written 9 November 2024
- michelleann20140 contributionsWonderful Day in TokyoWe had a great day with Steve! He took us to see the beautiful oasis in the city, Shinjuku Gyoen Garden and the 3D cat billboard in Shinjuku, which I could have watched all day. We had the most delicious tempura lunch and learned about sake. We went to the Yaneka district and found charming shops. We saw many more places with Steve and appreciated his insider knowledge!Written 9 November 2024
- A1264EGalexc0 contributionsIncredible tour guide, incredible scenery, incredible valueThe tour guide, May, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of Kawaguchiko as well as any questions we had about the area/Japan as a whole. The tour encompassed several areas of kawaguchiko that we had not known about or seen before. All stops on the tour came with immense amounts of knowledge and history provided by May. We were able to see Mt. Fuji on a beautiful clear day in November (Picture attached) and walked away feeling like we got the best possible value for our money. Highly recommend and am grateful for the experience we had.Written 9 November 2024
- Marco M0 contributionsImpressiveMy 21 year old son and I had a great day with our guides. It was a retired man and a somewhat older lady who is in training. Sometimes a bit difficult to understand, but very friendly. They took us everywhere and explained everything. The nice thing was that you didn't have to think about which train to take or how to get anywhere. They arranged everything.Written 9 November 2024
- Joanne J0 contributionsGreat day in HiroshimaAya was amazing and had the day so well planned yet was able to adjust to meet our requests. She had researched all of the places we visited and was able to answer all our questions. She was easy to talk to, considerate of the time we wanted to spend in a place and had a general welcoming demeanour. Loved the day. Thanks so much Aya. We would recommend anyone to book with you.Written 9 November 2024
- lindasuehoffman0 contributionsRushed, Rigid Private TourMy daughter and I booked a private tour of Hiroshima just for the two of us to make sure we could learn as much as possible about its history and culture. Our tour guide reached out to us the evening before noting our meetup location at the Shin-Hiroshima Station. When we got there, we couldn't find her despite following the instructions she provided. I reached out via text and provided photos for our location. After about 20 minutes of back and forth, she came up to me and somewhat scolded me for not being at the "right" location. She then proceeded to rush us to another train to get to a ferry for the island Miyajima. During the 30 minute or so train ride, she sat behind us and chatted with another commuter for most of the time. Departing the train, it seemed like we were chasing our guide to the ferry. Once on the ferry, our guide sat behind us again and I had to ask her what body of water we were on, what island we were going to, what its significance was -- it seemed I had to do a lot of prompting to get basic information that I'd expected her to provide unprovoked. When we got to the island, she mentioned we would be eating lunch at a location she already selected and having Hiroshima Okonomiyaka and we needed to get through the shrine in time for the 11:30 am lunch. At no point did she ask us what we would like to do during the tour, what our interests were or food preferences. It seemed that we needed to rush through the tour to accommodate a rigid schedule. She also was insistent that she pay for the entrance fees and other costs and would collect from us at the end of the tour which I objected to as I didn’t want to spend the time keeping a mental tab of what that cost would be at the end of the day. After some back and forth, I told her we would be paying for our own fees as we went and as explained on the Trip Advisor site for this booking. A couple of times, I was given a map of the island with its points of interest, and it appeared the intent was for me to read the information rather than her provide it. I wanted to take a picture of the Shinto Gate that is submerged in the water and there was a line. The guide did not want to wait for the line for me to do so and gave a location to the side that had obstructed views. This was very frustrating. It seemed she was not interested in accommodating our taking pictures. My daughter and I ended up huddling to figure out what to do and we decided to let the guide know we would continue without her services as the rushing around, absence of pertinent details on what we were seeing, general lack of meaningful answers to questions, and not being allowed to provide input on the day’s itinerary was becoming increasingly frustrating. My assumption was that, like other private tours, we would be able to provide our expectations or desires on what we wanted to see, do, eat, etc. Unfortunately, the tour was a wash at $351 USD. We ended up visiting the rest of the island on our own, taking the ferry back, and navigating ourselves to the Hiroshima Peace Museum which was a great, sobering experience. Takeaway from this: Make sure to set expectations with the tour company before booking so that you get a guide who can accommodate. (Note that my daughter is fluent in Japanese so none of this was due to a language barrier. Our guide simply seemed to be fixed on a rigid itinerary and rushing us through it.)Written 9 November 2024

- samsJ3261JY0 contributionsA fabulous day!Riona was an excellent guide for a day in Hiroshima and Miyajima. She was very thoughtful in her plans and very knowledgeable about the places we visited. She considered my limitations as I had hurt my foot before the trip and needed some breaks. She even took photos so I could enjoy the sites and also have something to show my friends and family. It was an awesome experience and I would recommend her and this trip to anyone.Written 9 November 2024

Hi, thank you for your wonderful comment!
It was me who enjoyed the tour the most.
We've talked a lot about baseball, politics, food, culture... I'll never forget four beautiful smiling faces with cheese cake @Dotombori and OHTANI-san's two-run home run!
We have EXPO'25 in Osaka and see you soon:)

Our friendly tour guide Yuko was fantastic and took us on a personalized tour to Osaka castle, Shinsekai, Dotonbori, and Kuromon market. She was extremely knowledgable on the history of the locations and showed us around by train. She met my lunch requests and suggested great spots for fatty tuna, Kobe beef, and takoyaki. As a bonus, she knew great photo spots and helped us capture great photos. Thank you! I highly recommend this tour and guide.

I had an amazing day exploring Osaka with my guide Mimmy-san. Osaka is a perfect place for someone who wants to see both the historical aspects and the modern aspects of Japan. From the absolutely stunning Osaka castle to the more recent amusements like the Tsutenkaku, Osaka sky line and the Aquarium, it has everything. And I cannot stress enough when I say Osaka is the food capital of Japan. It's a treat for all those foodies out there. One could spend all evening trying the various Street foods at Dotonbori.Mimmy made me feel right at home in the beautiful place explaining not only the historical facts but also the local significance. I would totally recommend Mimmy-san for those of you who wanna explore Osaka with a wonderful guide! 5 stars!

We had the pleasure of having Kiriko as our guide through Osaka. Since we were coming into Osaka as just a day trip she was happy to adjust our meeting location to the train station and even offered to come earlier since our train arrived so much earlier than our tour officially started. We were able to see all the sights on our list and Kiriko not only allowed us to pace ourselves to where we wanted to spend more time but she was excellent at taking photos and had delicious recommendations for food and restaurants along the way. We ended the trip full and happy. Thank you so much for making our time in Osaka a wonderful memory!

We had a fantastic time on a 6 hour tour of some of the main sights of Osaka. We visited Osaka Castle, Shitennoji Temple, Harukas, Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine and Dotonbori.
Our guide Sachiko was excellent and provided a detailed explanation of the history and meaning behind these places as well as some of the cultural aspects associated with them.
I would thoroughly recommend Sachiko for any tour of Osaka and really appreciated the care she took in ensuring we returned home safely.

Our guide Sachiko was so thoughtful and intelligent. She was well-prepared and even had taken the time before our tour to make it easy for our children to navigate their way home after their basketball experience at a local sports center after our tour. We moved about the city efficiently and learned so many new things about local customs and culture. Thank you!!

Bell conveyed her love of Osaka very eloquently. She explained the history as we visited the Osaka Museum and the Osaka Castle. Bell then introduced us to a contemporary Osaka with a stroll through various markets and the bustling Namba. Over lunch she shared details of her life in her city. Bell was accommodating and flexible and we would have no hesitation in recommending her for anyone who wants an introduction to this vibrant city.

I had the most remarkable private tour with Noriko. She contacted me the day before and asked where I would like to go and made it all happen the following day. She has a deep understanding of the history of the area, which made the experience come alive. The way she presented the places and in the order she presented them, gave me a real appreciation of Osaka and its place in history. This tour is the best way to see sites in a small amount of time.
