Solo
At first I was uncertain of taking a tour as a solo traveller. I proceeded anyway.

This changed as soon as I reached the meeting point. Shun was already interacting with the group, and upon my arrival made me feel instantly welcome.

Gabi's anecdotes and knowledge of the area were intriguing and good for a laugh. Shun had a very engaging manner, keeping the group informed and entertained as we travelled through the Dotonbori area.

Oh, and the food was fantastic 🤤

Treat yourself, take this tour, overindulge and enjoy Japan!

As a well seasoned world traveler, I have experienced hundreds of tours, but none can compare with Arigato Japan Food Tours. The opportunity to experience Japanese culture and the history behind their delicacies from a local guide, added incredible depth to our trip.  We took several of their tours along our journey throughout Japan, and these tours were truly one of the most superior highlights of our vacation!  Arigato caters to everyone, including those of us with gourmet pallets, such as my own.  I cannot recommend this company enough.  I have huge respect for Arigato Japan's local tour guides, who consistently went far above and beyond to share their personal love and excitement for food, Japanese culture, and interesting historical facts!  We learned so much, and we ate a ton of deliciousness!  Restaurant owners personally catered to us, which added an even higher level of entertainment, and our guides were also very flexible if we saw some interesting street food along the way that we wanted to dip into!  Japan has the most delicious and interesting food options ever!                                                                                                                                            I HIGHLY recommend Arigato Japan for your food tours in several different Japanese cities.   I love the cultural depth they added to our Japan vacation, which we would not have experienced otherwise.
Also, a truly heartfelt thank you to Anne Kyle, CEO of Arigato Food Tours, Japan.  Your tour guides spoke very highly of your passion and dedication to ensure that each of your customers experience a tour of a lifetime, which we did!

Hiroo was a great guide! We were so pleased to have a Japanese guide teach us all about Osaka foods and customs! He was very helpful. Highly recommend this tour! The length is perfect and you hit just the right amount of stops. Hope to try another one elsewhere in Japan soon. Thank you Hiroo!

We had our food tour last Friday with Sabreena who is a very clever competent young lady who speaks English, Malaysian English and Japanese. She was very friendly and welcoming and took us all over Osaka.

We went to a a bar which fried numerous meats and quail eggs on sticks which was really tasty. Then to a tokoyaki food stall which are the fried octopus balls (must have in Osaka). Third place was a gorgeous restaurant where we had gluten squares (much more appetising than they sound) plus rice and beg you cooked on a grill in front of you.

We popped to a tiny shrine in the middle of the shops on the way through to places plus to a tiny fortune place too.

Finally (although I was so full) Sabreena took my wife and I to a food stall selling fish shaped sweets filled with red bean paste or sweet potato. They were gorgeous!

Would really recommend the tour to anyone wanting to sample the delights of Osaka and have a lovely guide too.

So glad you had a great time! The Osaka night tour is great because even in a busy famous area we try to show our guests things hard to find or try on your own! I love those desserts too, even when I am full. LOL. We will pass your comments on to Sabreena I am sure she will be happy to hear what a great time you had!

This was our final night in Japan as we were leaving for home early the next morning, after a full on 14 days of touring and sightseeing. We were all pretty tired and nearly decided to miss the tour. We were all so glad we made the effort. Taiga, our tour guide was fantastical. He's passionate, knowledgeable and full of energy. We had a wonderful time being taken around some of Osaka's most popular spots and eating at some delicious restaurants. Highly recommended.

I opted to get a tour during my stay in January and it was one of the best calls I made. There is so many options and different styles of venue and food that as being from the west am simply not use use. So having a fabulous guide Gabi showing and explaining not only helped me on the night but gave me a great reference for the rest of my holiday.

Gabi was great she really knew her stuff from little facts about Osaka while walking between places to the local food and drinks and she didn't seem phased by any number of off topic questions about Japan and the culture in general. So thank you!

The places we visited were fab! I loved the first place. Kushikatsu for the win! By the end of the night I was full and happy and what more can you ask for?

If you are new to Japanese food this is a great place to start.

Thank you all and I'll be back.

Met promptly by our guide Taiga. He then took us on a great walking food tour. First up was the best sushi we had in Japan. Then on to making our own octopus balls. What a hoot! And delicious! Finally some cooked skewers. Best food we had in Japan. Our guide Taiga was attentive and lnformative throughout! A well worth experience

Thank you for your feedback. Of course we are sorry that this tour did not meet your expectations, We have two evening tours in Osaka. The Osaka night tour is more geared toward people on their first visit. Our Osaka Retro tour might have been a better fit for a repeat traveler. Sorry we did not have a chance to match you up with a tour more geared toward your experience. The restaurants we work with are very popular with locals and we choose carefully but of course we will review based on your feedback as well. Happy that you enjoyed your guide.

This type of tour is dependent on the knowledge of the guide. In our case, Yoko did a great job explaining the food scene in Osaka and introducing the little alleys and sights most tourists would miss. Her English was very good and she provided a lot of information in 3 hours.

Our guide, Akari, was the sweetest, most sensitive, caring, intelligent and knowledgeable person we could have wished for.

She took us through six or seven experiences, mostly eating and drinking with locals in interesting spots but also walking us through a once theatre now a series of small bars on several levels.

Plus we went to an amazing (plastic) food replica shop.

As Osaka grew dark it became more fascinating and we again recognised that we could only have accomplished so much by having an experienced, committed guide. Akari, thank you.
