      Fab bike tour
Yuta our guide made this a wonderful trip. Despite a snow blizzard at one point & 4 degrees C we loved it. The info was all very interesting, the Zen introduction & tea ceremony in the temple & the amazing Kukaki Ji golden temple. Bikes were good & Yuta did everything to make it a memorable trip

      Amazing tour
We had a great time on the e-bikes. Awesome tour. Learned a lot. Michael was amazing. He was east to spend the day with. He gave just the right amount of information regarding the culture there. Highly recommend!

      Amazing e-bike tour
This was an incredible e-bike tour. Yuta was our local guide and he was truly amazing at sharing history, teaching us helpful customs, and giving us recommendations for good local food/activities. There were 7 total guests in our group, and we were all safe throughout the tour. It was an incredible experience getting to bicycle out to a rural area to experience a matcha ceremony (our group elected to do this extra ceremony) at Toujiin Temple, where there were hardly any other tourists. We then biked to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple and got to hear and see how the 1,200 disciple statues of Buddha came about. Appreciated the inclusive welcome nature of this temple. And we ended at the bamboo forest and elected to eat delicious snacks after before returning to the shop. The Panasonic e-bikes are manageable weight-wise and very responsive, so fortunately it didn’t feel like a highly strenuous workout. I really liked the e-bikes as well, as this was my first time using one. I felt intimidated at the idea of bicycling in Kyoto but was relieved to see that drivers are very patient and experienced in avoiding bicyclists. And Yuta was awesome at guiding us to keep us all safe. Overall this was a very meaningful experience that we’re grateful for.

      Great time! Really fun bike!!!
Lot's of fun. Wonderful route! Beautiful scenery! I was lucky--the weather was perfect--not too warm or cold. I want to mention that the bike was a lot of fun to ride! I've done other e-bike tours and I liked this bike a lot--definitely more than some others. I don't have corrections for this tour but I would suggest a tour focusing on gorgeous architecture and home/building design. I was so often wanting to stop and admire things. Kyoto really is very beautiful.

      Successful Outing Despite Raining Weather
Yuta was our guide and he was great. It was sunny when we started but we knew sprinkling of rain was coming. When the weather continued to worsen Yuta had the insight to offer us a different tour where we could warm up at several tea houses near a temple and near a shrine. He also provided ponchos and gloves to somewhat help from the weather. Even despite the cold and wet weather, it was totally worth the experiences and learning of the Shinto and Buddhism history in Japan.

      Exploring the outskirts of Kyoto
This was our second bike tour with Noru. Our guide Henry was very entertaining and knowledgable. The tour was a beautiful excursion around the outskirts of Kyoto filled with interesting facts and history by Henry. Highly recommend this tour if you want to spend more time on a bike.

Lovely e-bike tour in Kyoto culminating
Wonderful urban cycling through parts of Kyoto culminating at the bamboo forest! Ebikes were easy to operate and the route was appropriate for anyone comfortable on a bicycle. Pace was very enjoyable as was the scenery. Stopped at two interesting and diverse temples with time to tour the grounds after a brief explanation from our local guide Sean who was fantastic. The bike shop was easy to find and staff very friendly.

Kyoto by bike tour is a must
We loved our tour with Yuta! We learned a ton, had fun biking, and he made sure we were comfortable and saw some of the less crowded temples, shrines, and sites. It was nice to see the major tourist attractions like the bamboo forest while mixing in quiet and peaceful spots that are more accessible by bike. Would also recommend this tour to anyone who is overwhelmed with seeing the temples and shrines in Kyoto—no need to choose or create your own itinerary!

Highlight of our trip! Do not miss this!
Our guide Henry was incredibly knowledgeable and the route we took showed us a side of Kyoto area that we never would have seen otherwise. Fantastic stops at temples. We really appreciated all the Japanese history we learned from Henry, & his passion for the culture is palpable & contagious. Highly highly recommend this, such a great tour. So worth every penny and possibly our favorite thing we’ve done on our trip to Japan so far. We wish there was a Henry tour in every place we are going!

So much fun & the e-bikes are great
This was a really informative and fun bike tour. Yuta was an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and a great communicator. The zen shrine and garden was a highlight. We went to some lovely locations with not many tourists, as well as the bamboo forest, which was easily the most busy of the locations. For those unsure about doing this tour, the e-bikes were really good and made the hills very manageable even though it has been more than a year since I rode a bike regularly.

      Magical secret Kyoto tour
The secret Kyoto cycling tour with Mike was magical and one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We visited beautiful temples, gardens, a geisha neighborhood and tea house which were quiet and not over run with tourists (in sharp contrast to our previous day’s sightseeing). Mike was knowledgeable, engaging, fun and a gifted communicator and gave us excellent insights into Japanese symbolism, culture and etiquette. If you only do one tour, make this the one!

      Excellent
This was excellent. One of the highlights of our trip to Japan. So good in fact that we did both this tour and the longer one hidden Kyoto tour. We had Henry as a guide and he was fantastic. He has lived in Japan for years and had a good mix of culture, anecdotes, stops and cycling. Highlights were the lake stop and the cycling round the countryside. We booked this to see the bamboo groves but it was so busy and touristy that many of the other things we saw in the tour were better. Cannot recommend this highly enough. The e-bikes make it so easy that it would be good even for nervous cyclists. Cycling in the city in Japan is far less stressful than cycling in the city at home!

Best guide on a great tour
Our guide, Henry was the best guide we have had in Japan. He clearly loved Kyoto and shared in a fun memorable way. I have new respect for the shrines and temples and a better understanding of Japanese solitude. And the bamboo forest was beautiful too!

I can only warmly recommend the bike tour.
Our tour guide Michael was super friendly and has lived there for a long time.
As a result, he was able to navigate the narrow streets of Kyoto with ease and show us small, hidden places.
The guide paid for entry to the Golden Pavilion Park and the meal in a traditional restaurant, and despite detailed explanations of the sights, there was enough time for photos.
I particularly liked the fact that we were shown and explained many interesting little things in the Geisha District that we had never noticed before. After the tour, we walked through the streets with a completely different perspective.
The tour does not require any physical fitness, the e-bike practically drives itself.

It was such a wonderful experience and definitely the highlight of our trip in Kyoto!

Sean is a great guide with deep knowledge about Japanese culture. The interesting stories he told about each temple and other historical sites make them come alive. Raised in England before coming to Japan at 18, he tends to view Japanese culture from a western perspective. He’s also very attentive to everyone’s need throughout the tour and took good care of every guest. He brought everyone a bottle of water, and made sure everyone kept up at every turn and traffic light. He kept it at a comfortable pace that no one felt rushed. We went on a day supposed to be at the highest temperature of the year - but it was such a pleasant experience we didn’t feel it at all; and we stopped by a 1000 year old shop to taste their mochi and tea - it felt like a stop in heaven :-) At the end, he gave us a recommendation of restaurants nearby, and send us a summary of the places we went with highlights. What more could you possibly ask for?

I highly recommend this tour to everyone coming to Kyoto - by biking, you get to see Kyoto up close and personal. And the e-bike makes it easy for all ages. Anyone who’s comfortable riding a bike should have no problem with this tour. I guarantee that you will not regret!

HENRY!!!!! He is a wealth of knowledge. His stories are entertaining. His memory is incredible. He remembered everyone's name, where they were from, and then sprinkled little nuggets of information about each person's home country/state/city that he somehow knows. He brought to life so much history which made the tour so interesting! We would highly recommend this e-bike tour to anyone that knows how to ride a bike and wants to be more than satisfied by the quality experience you will participate in. Henry, if you happen to read this, we would love the picture you took of us yesterday (October 13) as we rode away from you. And, of course, Jim would appreciate the names of the Shoguns and monks you so effortlessly shared with us.

This was a fantastic tour to places that I would never have gone on my own! Our tour guide, Michael, was definitely the primary reason for such a great tour (I'd give him more than five stars if I could!). As a former history teacher and an American who's lived in Japan for 20 years, he had an interesting perspective on the country and was incredibly engaging and informative. He also made sure we all stayed safe, together, and well-hydrated on a hot day. And he had a great fried chicken lunch recommendation! I had never ridden an e-bike before and am not super comfortable on bikes in general, but the bikes were easy to use and made even going up hills a breeze. My favorite part of the tour was a stop at a 1000+ year old tea house for aburimochi and tea. Tickets to the shrines/shrines, water bottles, and the snack break were all included in the cost. The one disappointment and the reason I'm removing a star was that we didn't actually visit the Golden Pavilion. While I realize that isn't exactly a "hidden" spot, I had been looking forward to visiting it since it was advertised as part of the tour. If it hadn't been advertised, I wouldn't have been disappointed because what we DID do was excellent, so maybe they should just take that off the description if it's not a guarantee.

All what they care is money!
Our train got delayed so we missed the trip, we were trying to call them since the morning of our trip to inform them about the situation but no one answered and they called us back just on the time of the trip and were very rude talking to us
We asked to reschedule but they refused asking for full new booking !!
I do not recommend as if anything happened out of your control they will not understand or try to help

Dear Nada Thank you for your feedback. We regret to hear about your experience and the inconvenience you faced due to a delayed train. Unfortunately, our guide was on a morning tour and unable to answer the phone at that time when you rang. Arriving in Kyoto on the same day as the tour can indeed be quite challenging, and as per our booking policy, we are unable to offer refunds on the same day of the tour. This policy is clearly outlined during the booking process to ensure transparency and fairness to all our customers. We were unable to hold the tour for you as this would have meant guests that were on time waiting for at least 30 minutes as you stated you hadn't actually arrived in Kyoto yet and were at least 30 minutes away when we rang you before the tour went out. In future if timing is a challenge it might be best to book private tours as often these are more flexible with delayed start times. We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding. We strive to provide the best service possible and will take your feedback into account to improve our customer support in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Sean was an amazing guide for our bike tour of Kyoto today! So much insight and detail about the sites visited that my wife and I never would have gotten if visiting on our own. The bikes were great and easy to manage even on pretty big hills. The stops were all well managed and true to the advertised “off the beaten path” appeal of this tour. It was nice that admission to the shrines and temples was included with the fee of the tour unlike some other recent tours in Japan we took. Only the Golden Pavilion at Kinkaku-ji shrine was crowded but that site is always crowded but well worth battling the crowds as one of the most spectacular places to visit in Japan. We were so happy with the stories that Sean shared about each of the places on this tour and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a different way to experience part of Kyoto. 5 stars only because I can’t give more!!!

The e-bike tour was a great time, and I would recommend it to family and friends if they were passing through Kyoto. The e-bikes are easy to use, and they add to the experience by letting you see the side streets and country paths that you otherwise likely wouldn't encounter. Our guide, Michael, was engaging and used his extensive knowledge of the area and its history to enhance the tour. Michael explained the background and customs associated with the various points of interest, which helped us gather a better understanding and appreciation of what was in front of us. This tour is an excellent opportunity for anyone trying to learn more about Kyoto and Japan while enjoying a cycling trip through the city.

A truly amazing experience! Our guide Henry was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He did a great job of explaining Japanese and Kyoto culture, and was able to answer all of our questions about the area and the history of the places we saw.

The bikes themselves were also great. Aside from one long hill section, the e-bikes made it so you can basically coast around the city, and even the long hill was made so much easier because of it.

The sites we visited were interesting and unique. Henry helped explain the differences between all of the shrines and temples we visited, and we went to many places that wouldn’t have been on my radar without this tour.

Couldn’t recommend this tour enough, especially if you get the pleasure of doing it with Henry.

This e-bike tour of Kyoto was truly incredible. Our guide, Yuta, made the experience unforgettable by tailoring it to our group. At the start, he asked if we were okay with skipping the crowded Golden Pavilion in favor of a more peaceful spot—and we all agreed, which turned out to be a perfect decision.

We visited a few serene temples, explored a smaller geisha district, enjoyed some amazing mochi, and ended the tour in a stunning zen garden. Yuta was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely kind and funny. He made sure to answer every question and ensured everyone felt comfortable on the e-bikes throughout the journey.

10/10 experience—I cannot recommend this tour enough!

The weather forecast called for chilly rain through the morning, and I considered cancelling our 9 am- 1 pm Kyoto bike tour. Really glad I didn’t! Michael is a great tour guide. He made this a fun group activity, and gave me confidence for my first E-bike experience.

He was a middle school history teacher in a past life, meaning he can hold your attention and tells a great story. Highly recommend. He’ll ask you if your group wants to go to the hidden temple- say yes!
