Such a nice experience. Nara and Kyoto are must do's! The experience is so different to Tokyo away from hustle and bustle.
This guided tour of Kyoto and Nara helps you discover many of Japan’s dispersed ancient sites in one day. You’ll learn invaluable historical information from your guide and travel with ease in a coach. It’ll be a hassle-free day with entrance fees, lunch and dinner, and pickup and drop-off from select Kyoto hotels included. Highlights include Nijo Castle, the wild deer of Nara Park, and Kyoto Imperial Palace.
This jam-packed day starts with a pickup from one of four specified Kyoto hotels. Kyoto is famous for being ancient Japan’s former capital and is home to many important historic sites. You’ll see UNESCO World Heritage Site Nijo Castle and then move on to Kinkaku-ji—a Zen temple with impressive Japanese gardens and buildings covered in gold leaf.
Next up you’ll see Kyoto’s Imperial Palace before having a break for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to Nara and visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site Todai-ji temple which has one of the world’s biggest Buddha statues.
You’ll finish the day with a stop off at Kasuga Shrine with its 3,000 lanterns and then visit Nara Deer Park, which is home to semi-tame deer who are used to being fed by hand. The day will end with a return trip back to Kyoto.
