Overview
Seeing St. Petersburg independently on a cruise stop means covering a vast amount of ground and history. This 2-day visa-free tour does the work for you with two daylong itineraries that leave you to concentrate on the sights as a guide provides historical commentary. Plus, it features benefits such as early access to the Hermitage Museum, tours of the Catherine and Yusupov palaces, lunches, and included canal, hydrofoil, and subway rides. Cruise passengers generally require a visa for independent travel so this tour saves the hassle with its visa waiver.
What to Expect
The itinerary below is a sample: Your actual schedule will depend on your ship’s arrival and departure times. Sightseeing order and timings may vary according to the day, tourist volumes, and museum capacities. The itinerary content will remain the same unless your specific ship has a shorter time in port than usual.

Day One: St. Petersburg
Meet your guide after visa-free immigration clearance and enjoy a panoramic city drive, viewing highlights including Vasilyevsky Island, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and the Bronze Horseman.

Next, visit the Peter and Paul Fortress and Cathedral, and ride a hydrofoil to Peterhof Palace to explore its Lower Fountain Park and Upper Gardens. Then, after a boxed lunch featuring Stolle’s pies, visit Catherine Palace in Tsarskoe Selo, seeing its Amber Room and gardens before returning to your ship.

Day Two: St. Petersburg
Greet your guide as on Day One and ride St. Petersburg’s metro to see its most beautiful stations. Then, take a boat ride along the city’s canals before enjoying an early-access tour to the Hermitage. After a traditional Russian lunch, explore the Church on the Blood, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and Yusupov Palace with its Rasputin exhibition, before ending with a port drop-off.

Alla website indicates maximum of 16, that is the number of guests on our tour. They include headsets when not in the mini bus and the narration throughout the two days was invaluable.
