One of the most scenic villages on Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Phluk is also one of the least visited by tourists. On this tour, learn about local life as you cruise around stilted houses and floating markets, and take a canoe ride through the beautiful flooded forests. Hear commentary from your guide along the way, choose from a morning or afternoon tour, and enjoy hassle-free hotel pickup and drop-off.
What to Expect
Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

guide was great, timing was good

we had Sarat, he is so nice and knowledgeable. He answered a lot of questions we had. He patiently waited for us as he came early to pick us up and had towels and cold waters ready

Best tour ever!😊

We loved this tour because of our guide Sela. He was very knowledgeable, interesting and his English was very good. Good to see the floating village and be able to be rowed through the trees by a local lady.

The tour operators are really good. If you mention it to them they will advise if it can be done. There are many hotels along the stretch to the airport, so it most likely will not be a problem. The only issue may be... More

I am sure you will be fine. There is a minibus ride, a boat ride and then a tour through the village. The rainy season must mean the waters have risen through the village now. It was on stilts and dry when I was there in... More
