If you choose one water park in Dubai, make it this one!

It was our first visit to this water park

The place is vast - in order to take in the most amount of rides it is important to arrive early. Consider upgrading to the "skip the line" option for even faster access to the rides. At peak times the wait can be 50-60 minutes.

I would recommend renting a locker to store your stuff, a towel (otherwise you will need to rent one), and to bring a waterproof phone case if you want to take pictures. Avoid the changing room at the entrance as this gets super crowded - go to Atlas village instead. Bring your own water shoes, but if you forget then you can get (for free) a pair of Aqua Socks. Walking barefoot (while possible) is not something I recommend as the ground can get pretty hot. Slides/slippers will come off on the rides.

The rides are of a very good caliber. Despite the potential for being scared, there are more than ample staff/lifeguards there to assist. Let them know if you are not a strong swimmer and they will tell you the (few) rides to avoid.

The downside for us was the variable interaction with the staff. Some were fantastic, very informed, friendly, and fun. Others seemed overwhelmed and provided limited information.

If you choose one water park in Dubai, make it this one!

Premium seating
We visited the park and had premium seats in a private section with towels and lockable storage box included. The premium sections cost 95 dirham each from memory. Quen was an amazing host, he was friendly , helpful and made the day a very enjoyable time. He was happy to help with any of our requests and checked up on us regularly to see if we needed anything. He is a top host, as well as the two others who were also working in this section. When we visit in the future we hope to see him again. We visited in the July and the water temperature was perfect, the maximum wait queues were 15/20 mins but I suggest it’s better to do the rides further away first then make your way to rides near the front.

Brilliant park, stayed in atlantis took us 2 days to get around , I travelled with a 6 and 13 year old. my 6year old is 1.25 metre and for all rides in the towers need to be 1.2 so he got on everything which was ideal. It took us 2 days to get around the park including the smaller lagoons, river rapids ect.. If only planning going to the park for 1 days and kids are above 1.2 metre i would recommend going to Neptune, poisoden and trident tower ( the best and newest tower) and skipping everything else. This is where the biggest thrills in the park are. Also i would advise buying a aquaexpress pass slightly dearer , but saves queing which can be long on busy rides up to 40minutes and being able to go on multiple times.

Great Waterpark
Great day out at the waterpark. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn’t super busy. We arrived before 9am as it opened at 9:15 and we were some of the first people in the park. We bought fast passes and a small locker. We didn’t need to use the fast passes for the first two hours but as we were only there for one day we were happy that we purchased them as it saved us hours of queuing in the afternoon. They check your bags in the morning but not thoroughly so you could take some snacks in. You’re allowed two bottles of water. There is a Starbucks that is almost the same price as other places in Dubai so the food wasn’t as bad as what we were expecting. The rides were fun, overall we had a great day. If I were to go back again I would 1) stay at Atlantis for a couple of days and 2) go at a slightly warmer time of the year.

This really pains me to write such a negative review since we have visited Aquaventure many times and always had the best day out. We visited between Christmas and New Year 2021 knowing full well that it would be busy but were happy to spend a lot of time on the lazy river and maybe not do too many rides as the crowds began to build. However, the length of the queues for the slides were not the issue, but how the queues were managed. It seems that many people had Aquaexpress (fast pass) wristbands and because some of the rides do not separate out the fast passes from the regular riders from the start, the fast passers spend their day pushing through the queue to get to the front. Not only does this mean social distancing goes out of the window despite the signage, obviously no one at a waterpark is expected to wear a mask.
One group managed to separate us from our daughter by pushing past us and took offence when I pointed this out saying 'we paid AED400 for these wristbands' as if that was an excuse. The staff looked overwhelmed, one security guard said he felt that too many fast passes had been sold that day.
Also had a grim experience in Shark Bites restaurant, 30 mins for fast food to be served, some people had waited an hour and were demanding refunds.
Altlantis: you know how busy you are likely to be based on the occupancy of the hotel, customers who quite rightly should have priority as entrance is included in the accommodation rate. So, why then sell more tickets to non residents like us OR allow huge fast pass sales if you are not going to manage the system properly?

Average 40 minutes spent in one queue, because of the "aquapress" people with ultimate priority you never get in

For me it was the worst spent money in Dubai. The queues for each slide are so long that it is impossible to try few of them even if you are there the whole day. We've spent on average about 40 minutes in one queue. In 3 hours we've tried 2 slides and were absolutely exhausted from the standing and waiting, so we gave up and just spent the day at the beach, because other than the slides the attractions are mostly for kids and families. So for us it was a beach day for 700 AED (2 people), terrible. The thing that bothers me the most is the system how they deal in the queues. There are two types of tickets - regular and aquapress (almost tripple the price). At the end of each queue is a security/lifeguard who lets people to the slides. And here it comes. The aquapress people have ABSOLUTE priority and the guards won't let you go to the slide unless the aquapress line is empty. Which happens once if a decade, so there are hundreds of people waiting in a "regular queue", standing in one spot and watching people with aquapress ticket going to the front and taking the slide. For examle we were standing first in the regular line, right in front of the slide, for 10 minutes because the aquapress people kept coming and coming and the lifeguard just won't let us in. One family with aquapress took the slide for five times while we were in the queue, before it was our turn. I understand that they pay more and that they have the priority, that is not my point. However the park need to realize that even "regular" people paid huge price to be there and they should come up with some system and not only care about the aquapress people. For us it was such a dealbreaker that we left absolutely furious. I will never go back nor recommend it to anyone.

Worst water park experience in 40 years

Absolutely awful waterpark. The staff don't have a clue what's going on, the lockers are a 15 minute walk from the entrance, they take your money to top up the band but then keep hold of it for a week before refunding the change, and you have to have a different arm band for lockers, paying, express, etc.

Total joke, I wish I hadn't wasted my time or money.

Oh and don't think you'll be able to buy an express pass on the day, you'll get to queue for 40 minutes only to be told they're sold out.

4 hours in the park, 2 rides completed and one of those was the tube river rapids.

I wouldn't come back if you paid me, go to Wild Wadi instead

Had a great time and great fun, but your impudence for the price of pictures goes beyond the limits

The staff welcomed us kindly. We bought the tickets in advance, online, along with the ticket to swim and meet the dolphins, which was also the first thing on our agenda.

Although we bought tickets in advance, the seller advised us to upgrade our tickets with a fast pass which costs 425aed per person (expensive, but in the end it turned out to be a total hit considering that we went around each ride at least twice, while people are in normal queues waited for two hours for a single ride).

The experience with dolphins is fantastic, I count it among my best experiences so far. The staff is very friendly and they all try to provide complete comfort and get the most out of you while you are in the pool with dolphins. The feeling is really amazing while petting them, hugging them and while swimming with these beautiful animals. You are not allowed to bring your phone or camera into the pool, but there are photographers so you can buy pictures after your time with the dolphins. Cool, we thought, and then came a slight shock when we got to the cash register.

We had a total of 52 pictures of us. We did not want any pictures live, but to be sent to us in electronic form, which is normal today, considering that pictures are mostly used in digital form. We were told that regardless of the fact that we want them in digital form on the email, we definitely have to buy a usb, and get them framed. And then the seller told us the price of 1,250 aed, which is roughly around 375 euros.

Amazing and crazy at the same time. My wife and I decided to go through the pictures and take only a few of those 52 (which is very difficult to choose, because there are two of us, and each of us participated in 6 or 7 activities with dolphins, which would mean at least 12, 13 pictures) . Don't get me wrong, the pictures are fantastic, but they are insanely expensive. So the two of us had a fantastic, unforgettable experience, but we were left without most of the memories of it. No filming is allowed, so you can't have a video as a memory, and in the end we left with 5 framed pictures for which we paid an incredible 675aed (205euros). You wouldn't believe it. Disappointment at the moment. I wouldn't regret paying double the price of the ticket for that experience with dolphins, but to be striked on my wallet like this, it's really sad. If you do such a vile thing, at least allow the possibility of buying only pictures in digital format, without stupid framing in some kind of frame that makes you charge so much for the price.

During the season peak, as it was during our stay, believe me, it is not worth entering the aqua park unless you buy a ticket for the fast lane. You'll wait at least an hour for each ride, you'll lose your temper and you won't see or experience anything, and it's stupid not to get the most out of your time while you're in such a fantastic and magical place.

Thanks for a great time!! We have kids of all ages and scare levels and there was something for all of them! I recommend spending the extra money on a cabana rental as it comes with water, towels and a con concierge service that will take care of your food orders. Our guest agent, Dorcas, was extremely kind, helpful, and punctual. We couldn't have asked for better. Everyone of the staff and lifeguards were friendly and helpful and made the park even better!! Our cabana was near Trident Tower which offers slides for all levels and is quiet for the adults, we recommend this area above the others which are busier and louder. Aquaventure is Amazing!

I have been to Aquaventure with my friends every weekend for the past month and it’s always such a fun day out. With my annual pass, which I just renewed, it is amazing value for money as well. It’s the perfect way to spend a hot summer day, as the water is nicely chilled and for a lot of the rides, the queue is in the shade. We went at opening time and there wasn’t a big queue to get in and the staff were very kind and helpful in the ticketing area and it was very well organised.

I have to say I am so impressed with the new tower of rides and slides and they make a brilliant addition to what was already an awesome water park. I always think the lifeguards at this water park are phenomenal as well. They really seem to know their job and they are vigilant and I feel totally safe in their capable hands. They are also very helpful, as is everyone I have met around the park. I have known Steven Schady for a long time and it was fantastic to see him working at the park now too. He is always happy to see me and he checks everything is good. He makes me feel very welcome as a guest. It’s always nice to know he’s around in case I need anything, as I know he would be there straight away and he would sort me out. As I go often, I have also got to know some other staff members well, especially Deepak and Maurice from the Guest Services Team. They always welcome me with a huge smile and offer to assist if I should need anything at all. This all helps make Aquaventure such a great place to go, as it feels like you have a family there!

Regarding the rides, for me, in the new tower, Blackout is awesome, so is shockwave and the cliff jumping is a must as well. Vortex is a thrill with a surprise at the end as you fall out into deep water! I also enjoy the surfing and my favourite ride if all time is the Leap of Faith!

The whole day at Atlantis is also just special because of where it is. The views while you are waiting of the hotel, the palm and the rest of the water park is so nice. We ate at Baracuda for lunch which has a while range of different types of food to choose from and used my annual pass discount. It was also indoors and a welcome break from the midday intense heat! I can recommend pool shoes during the summer months to protect your feet and they do sell them there.

If you’re looking for an outstanding day out with family or friends - or both, this is the place to be for sure. It’s the best water park I’ve been to and the staff make it even better.
