    What to Expect
Meet your guide in the lobby of your Panama City hotel. Climb aboard an air-conditioned minibus and meet your small tour group, limited to 15 people or fewer.

Arrive on the banks of Lake Alajuela, meeting some members of the Emberá tribe at Puerto Corotu. Board a motorized dugout canoe and, assisted by a motor, head up the Chagres River to the village of Embera Drua. On the way, visit an impressive waterfall deep in the park.

Native Emberá tribe members greet you upon arrival with a traditional dance and a presentation about their culture, history, and modern way of life in the forest. Walk around and explore the village at your leisure, chat with the locals, and take photos.

Eat a lunch of fresh fruit, plantains, and fried fish, then receive temporary traditional tattoos if you like or shop for handicrafts.

Step back into the canoe and return to Panama City the way you came. Your tour concludes with drop-off back at your Panama City hotel.

Embera Village Tour was a second tour we took with Panama Day Trips. John, our guide, did an excellent job in making the tour memorable. He shared a lot of information and the canoe ride from the village in pouring rain was fun and adventurous. Enjoyed learning the Embera

There are no words to describe how wonderful this experience was. We visited the Embera Drua Village and were humbled by the hospitality of the natives. Mateo gives a thorough overview of the culture of the Embera people, how they make their goods and the jobs of both the men

Having been shaken around in a coach along rough tracks to find the dugout canoes, our adventure started. Two Embera guided about 12 of us in single file onto seats in the canoe. The 15 minute trip up the river, powered by an outboard engine, was fascinating and atmospheric. The

Jerin and William are very nice people and great guides. They know a lot and they gave us a lot of information. The pick up was on time and the ride was smooth. Take comfortable hike shoes if you’re going to the waterfall because it’s slippery, you’ll need to walk/hike a little
