My husband and I came here on our first day in Hong Kong. We absolutely love tea and were very excited - it did not disappoint. It is hard to find from the outside but once we got in Vanessa was so kind and talked us through the different teas, the makings, and their process. We did two food pairings which was amazing to taste the difference of the tea with the food - like wine and cheese pairing, very interesting. we really enjoyed the quality, the experience, and the friendliness!

Never have I imagined a simple infusion of a handful of leaves and flowers (e.g. Jasmine) in hot water can do magic and put my taste buds on a roller-coaster ride. I sampled a few. The room was redolent of a variety of tea fragrances and I experienced a full gamut of tastes. Some tantalized even the most jaded palate. The "paring" is another ingenious idea ---- complementary both aesthetically and aromatically to the main theme "TEA". It is paramount for culture vultures not to miss out on this Chinese Tea Experience ---- an eye-opening and sensuously delightful afternoon indeed !

The overall experience at MingCha tea house is fantastic! I had a great conversation with Vivian, who introduced me to her signature Jasmine green tea and made me feel right at home. Definitely a hidden gem of Hong Kong!

I alway start the day with a cup of tea , in my younger day was always English tea after I discovered the benefit and well-being in Chinese tea drinking . I started searching for good tea, I will try tea from any reputable tea suppliers my search was over after I discovered MingCha , they carry a large collection that you bound to find one that you like . I walk with Ming Cha. I always put a box of Ming Cha in my duffel bag whenever I go on a long haul flight trip as it provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the airport as well as pleasant surprises it may bring about. On a recent trip to Canada, after a three-year long absence due to the Covid-19 quarantine restrictions, as the family got together to share our painful experiences of the long shut down, I took out my favorite Dan Cong and made tea for them. As the tantalizing aroma from the teapot started to fill in the room, they were awed. It is tea from heaven, they cried out. Thank God for letting the tea rejuvenate our love and energy. And thank Vivian for the wonderful pick of the tea.

It’s several years since the last time I was able to visit Ming Cha. The pandemic has prevented me from travelling to Asia. I few months ago I had an operation and it’s taken me several months to recover. I was very grateful therefore to receive a shipment of tea from Ming Cha in Hong Kong to aid my recovery. Included was my absolute favourite White Peony Supreme. It’s simply my favourite tea and much better than what I am to buy here locally in Switzerland. It was my first time to MingCha's work shop and my first meeting with the most important person of this well known brand Vivian Mak, who founded and grew the company since more than 2 decades ago. I had a comprehensive tutorial of a selection of her teas from longjin to oolong including chewing the dried tea leaves, steeping the tea leaves, smelling the wet tea leaves and sipping the tea soup like it's red wine... I had expected it. What really took me by surprise was that Vivian managed to lead me to a mindful experience with her different teas. Her choice of longjing brought me back to west lake when I tasted longjing tea for the very first time during my first journey to Hangzhou China as a little boy. The pairing of her teas with different food was the last part but not the least. The pairing made the experience of each more vivid and memorable...

I went there to buy tea and was received with a warm welcome and a tea tasting with Vanessa. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay too long. You can easily stay more than an hour while tasting tea and being taught about the process behind it. Great experience !

You will get introduced to the world of the. How to prepare, how often to brew, different types and aroma. With tasting a few teas you easily can decide what you want to buy. Usually we end up with lots of tea in our bags. And the price is worth it. Don't forget to try their Osmanthus or Rose Honey! ❤️ And if you like to have a workshop they offer some of them. I spent a fascinating afternoon at MingCha Tea House. It’s a bit like a wine tasting, but in more detail - I learned about the different types of tea, how to use the senses to get the most out of them and how to brew them properly. The staff, Vanessa and Vivian (the owner) were extremely hospitable and certainly know their subject. It was also great to chat over a cup about life in Hong Kong and comparing it with life in the UK. The teas are wonderful, with a whole pallete of flavours and aromas. They aren’t the cheapest but they are in a completely different league to your average British teabag!
