    Tourist attraction
Felt like this has been made to please tourists - the Buddhas are not very old - nor very detailed nor beautiful. A lot was broken or you could see damage and rubbish all around the place. The climb is pretty exhausting - and the top kind of pays you off with a nice temple and views. But I would not want to see this place again.

Brilliant intro to Hong Kong with fun and engaging guide
Ivan was our guide this morning. He was born in Kowloon and knows the city, culture and history inside out. He met us at our hotel, explained the MTR to us and off we went to Central. Ivan engaged both my husband, three kids (aged 11, 8 and 5) and me with fascinating history about HK and other cultural topics such as feng shui and religious traditions. He was friendly, personable and completely present. We visited an outdoor market where the kids loved seeing meat and fish being sliced and diced fresh. We went to an old temple where the kids got to make a prayer with incense, we tried some delicious French toast and a hybrid iced coffee tea! We learnt quite a bit about the history of HK as a colony. Three hours was perfect for little legs, however if it’s older kids or adults in your party I’d recommend booking Ivan for longer. Even after three hours the tour left us all feeling more confident to navigate HK alone. Ivan left us with restaurant tips for the kids and other itinerary recommendations. A truly worthwhile private tour that I highly recommend.

    Soon again, please
Booking the tour and getting to the meeting place was super easy. They even would have picked me up from my hotel but as I know Hong Kong a bit I opted for a meeting place in the New Territories. Maggie has been a wonderful tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoyed learning so much about Hong Kong, past and present, and seeing placing which as a normal tourist you would seldom. Maggie was very flexible and always made sure that my personal interest were met.

    Great tour with Ivan
Early June we spent 8 days in Hong Kong. We arrived Friday night and I had booked a Big Foot Walking tour of Kowloon for the next day, so we could get an idea of how to get around HK from the start of our holiday. We met Ivan at our hotel at 12 noon and he spent the next 4 hours showing us a part of the world that he knows so well. He showed us how to get an Octopus card, then how to navigate the MTR rail system. That was so handy for the rest of our trip as we used it daily. Ivan was very patient and so informative about the area and history of Kowloon. We walked, caught trains and had a lovely local lunch. Wasn’t cheap, but money well spent and it made the rest of of stay so easy. Happy to recommend Ivan as not only was he very professional but he was a very nice young man and no questions were too stupid and nothing was too much trouble. Cheers.

    day tour with Ivan
My daughter and I had an 18 hour layover in Hong Kong en route to South Africa. I decided to hire a tour guide...and boy am I glad I did. Ivan gave us a great 4 hour tour of the city. It was perfect. I loved how he took us to a small, local restaurant...and guided us on what and how much to order. He catered his tour to what we wanted to do. He was very flexible. My daughter loved the outdoor escalator. I enjoyed the temple. He was great with translating Hong Kong prices into US dollars so we could better understand local real prices. He gave a very interesting tour. What could have been a very intimidating experience in a foreign city, turned out to be a very enjoyable and laid back time. I highly recommend Ivan! Thanks so much for a wonderful tour of beautiful Hong Kong!

    A Hong Kong Adventure
Had a fantastic time exploring Hong Kong Island with Ivan on a 4 hour walking tour. I learned about the history of the city while walking through the busy streets with a stop at a serene Taoist temple along the way. I definitely discovered a whole new side to Hong Kong (Ivan also showed us some fantastic dining options, make sure you ask about them!). I would highly recommend this tour!

    Ivan is #1 Guide
Our recent trip to Hong Kong was made very special by the 4 hours we spent exploring Kowloon with Ivan. I am quite sure we would never have discovered all of these fascinating parts of Kowloon without Ivan and certainly not in just 4 hours. We used public transit and saw traditional Hong Kong and modern day Hong Kong. Ivan answered all of our questions and we would definitely hire him for additional tours of this magical place.

A great way to learn about Hong Kong history and food!
My wife and I had a great time touring Hong Kong with Celia. She was energetic and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Hong Kong history, geography, local culture, local traditions and of course food. Celia took us to all the local spots and helped us order the best things on the menu. We even had snake soup! The tour was a lot of fun and Celia adjust it to fit your preferences. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting HK!

    April in Hong Kong
Celia was a great tour guide. Especially helpful was that she took us to buy subway tickets and taught us the ins and outs of the subway in Hong Kong. April is a great month to go before the humidity!

    Would do it again
Just this one tour got us up to speed with knowing Hong Kong. Our guide was fantastic, listened to what we liked and tailored the walk. She was spot on with what she showed us, and her knowledge was fantastic. She also introduced us to a whole lot of things to explore on our own in ensuing days. The additional help in showing us local places close to us was great as well.

Ivan was a wonderful guide and made our Hong Kong visit very memorable
Ivan took us in a 4 hour walking tour which included the new and the old parts of Hong Kong. He was very knowledgeable but without overloading us with too much information. Also, he was essential in in introducing us to travelling on the MTR which proved a godsend for our other couple of days. He gave us good ideas of places to go that we hasn’t covered on our tour. If you only have a few days in Hong Kong do book this tour it will make the rest of your visit so much better. Many thanks, Ivan for such an informative and interesting day.

We had such a great "behind the scenes" tour of local places in Central and Western Districts of HK. Maggie was just awesome! It was ridiculously hot, of course that was partly our fault visiting in mid-July! She answered all my questions honestly - something you can't get from a tour guide in Mainland China because they are so highly regulated, so this was a refreshing change! We learned so much about the culture in Hong Kong, which is my favorite. If you like learning about current culture and food, this is the tour for you! Honestly, I can only see so many temples in Asia before they all start looking the same. This tour was different! Maggie did take us in a Taoist Temple which was different from the Buddhist ones and also very interesting because she explained all the rituals in great detail. She took us to a couple of awesome food places (local, not touristy) to try Hong Kong French Toast, Egg Tart, and tea. Everything was excellent! We also loved touring the local food markets, with all the crazy and different food for sale (ie pig's head and cut up fish with the heart that was still beating!) She explained the herbalist doctors and what they do. We sort of booked this tour last minute, but it was my favorite thing we did in Hong Kong!

Our guide Ivan took us on a 4 hour walking tour of Central on Hong Kong Island where we saw an amazing array of sights from the towering skyscrapers to the small alley ways with tiny restaurants jam packed with locals and an atmospheric Taoist temple.
The pace was easy going with plenty of stops and we finished with a ride on a double decker tram. Thank you Ivan. I can highly recommend this tour.

We booked this tour as a group of 4 adults pretty much last minute and so glad we did. We were only in HK for 2 and a half days and this tour really brought HK Island to life and ensured we got the most out of our limited time there. Maggie our guide was excellent and, being a HK resident was brilliant at showing us places we wouldn't have seen and, more importantly, explaining the culture and history around the places we were taken too (including some very out of the way and authentic HK eateries. Would highly recommend.

Thank you, Brain K, for your warm hands of friendship! As such, we treasure the chance to be your local friend in Hong Kong. We love to provide a behind-the-scenes look, for example, by highlighting how it feels for a local to live in such a dynamic city. We also can't wait to share with you our insider tips, from hole-in-wall eateries which are well-loved by locals, to our tips and tricks on maximizing your time in Hong Kong. We can't say enough, but we are tremendously grateful for your trust and support in us. We hope you had enjoyed Hong Kong as much as we do!

Thank you, Ashley R. Our Real Hong Kong Tour has always been our most popular private tour as it provides travelers with a perfect overview of Hong Kong in the most honest and entertaining way possible. Although the tour is based around Central District, we do not focus on shopping. Instead, we love guiding our guests to go beyond the facade of these shopping malls, flashy cars and designer stores. Through observation, participation and lots of fun, we cover a range of topics from history to culture to the everyday life of a local!

Our guide, Maggie, was superlative. We went with her for a walking tour of the mid-levels in Hong Kong and learned so much. Her depth of knowledge was incredible. She explained culture, architecture, food and religion. She took us to a tiny tea shop that we would never have found with the guide books and we were able to try the superlative Hong Kong French toast. We traveled past open air markets and she explained how the butchers and the fish mongers were selling their foods. We got to see the dried foods; from dried squid to dried sea cucumbers to dried fruits. Fascinating! Maggie expanded our horizons so much with her stories and facts. She was so pleasant. I thought that we had 'done' Hong Kong in the few days before going on a tour with Maggie. We found out that we had just scratched the surface. Our only regrets are that we did not go out with Maggie earlier in our stay and that we only went for a few hours. Thank you, Maggie!

Thank you, Charyl R, for allowing us to share with you our passion for Hong Kong. Yes, Maggie certainly has lots of enthusiasm! She has been in the travel industry for more than 25 years and always fancy meeting travelers who are keen to to have an insider look into her city! Did you have a good Dim Sum lunch after the tour? We hope you like the view at the Peak too, especially at our secret spot. It's definitely one of our favourite places for a panorama view of Hong Kong's charming skyline! Psst.. Thank You so very much!! My first trip to Asia and Hong Kong, and it was an incredible adventure! Arriving late yesterday, I scheduled my tour for 14:00-18:00. Ski, from Big Foot Tour was very accommodating for a later-day-tour. Emails were very informational - where to meet, how to get there, and what my tour would entail. Ivan was a delightful tour-guide. Very knowledge and comprehensive. He has a great sense of humor, and infused his personal life of being from HK into the tour. I can look back at my pictures and think so fondly of my first 24-hours! Thank you, Big Foot Tour. And immense thanks to Ivan, too!
