- jessicacP3492DL00Incredible and unique food tourThis was definitely the most extensive food tour I have been on. We tried so much delicious food and also got to learn about the history and culture of Hong Kong! Mel was a great guide, and he really went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great experience. Not to mention basically every stop was Michelin recommended… Cannot recommend this tour enough!
- beatah51500Fabulous food tour on Hong Kong IslandWe have just returned from a holiday to Hong Kong and one of the highlights of the trip was our food tour with Mel. Mel was a wonderful guide: he is engaging, professional and knowledgeable, and he made the tour very entertaining and interesting for our 7 year old and 11 year old daughters. Despite having lived in Hong Kong previously, we saw a side of the local food culture with Mel that we had never experienced before. After touring some local dried seafood and local medicine shops (our brief to Mel was "the more unusual the better"), we stopped at a tea shop where we enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony. We then moved on to a barbecue meat restaurant to try an assortment barbecue meats, noodles, rice and local drinks. Mel then found a couple of stores specialising in desserts requested by our daughters: egg waffles and egg tarts - both were delicious! We walked through a traditional wet market showcasing very fresh produce and ended at a Michelin-rated dim sum restaurant which served wonderful dumplings and another dish that our girls wanted to try, chicken feet. All in all, this food tour was a thoroughly enjoyable way to experience a more authentic Hong Kong. We would highly recommend Mel and the tour to anyone!
- 502mitchn00HK 4 Hr tourSinclair was great, and we got a real taste of Hong Kong despite the rain. We were able to see highlights, and had just enough time to squeeze this in during a business trip. Loved it!
- geraldc38800Great food Large portions.I’ve done food tours all over the world and this one is the absolute best. Mel was a great guide and personally knew the people in most of the Michelin Guide locations. Bring stretchy pants because this one will leave you full.
- Sojourner7100Great Snapshot of HKSinclair was on the dot to meet us at the hotel at the time we had scheduled. He has a pleasing and friendly demeanor and is very informative. He was receptive to what we wanted from the tour and was happy to take us accordingly. We got an overview of HK and we enjoyed our time with Sinclair. He was always checking in to make sure that we were ok and enjoying ourselves. Would highly recommend Sinclair !!Only downside was that the tour itself is a bit on the pricey side
- bradley a00Worth itSinclair was great. In addition to the food tour he explained interesting facts about Hong Kong. He also took great pics of us. Highly recommend
- 813aprillem00Best food trip tourWe had an amazing food experience as we get to have a taste of the authentic food in Hongkong. Learnt also about culture, tradition , and history of each restaurant we visited. Our tour guide Sinclair is very warm and friendly. He is so passionate in what he does and does extra mile to assist us especially that we didnt have the octopus card :) Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.
- bronwynf8100An excellent food tourFantastic tour with Mel. We saw and tried the best local food, his knowledge is excellent and the experience was really well thought-out. Highly recommend.
- MichelleL734000Great culinary journeyThe small group Hong Kong island food tour was a great culinary journey. The dim sum was a delightful assortment of dumplings, spring rolls and rice rolls, each bursting with unique flavors. The flaky and sweet egg tart left a lasting impression, and the wanton noodles were perfectly balanced in taste and texture. The rich and aromatic milk tea was a refreshing treat, especially under the scorching hot sun. Riding the iconic tram added a charming touch to the tour. Our food tour guide Sinclair’s knowledge of local cuisine and history added depth to the experience. Overall, the tour provided a fantastic blend of traditional flavours and cultural exploration.
- 859micheley00Can’t imagine the day without Sinclair!Sinclair made our trip to Tai O & Lantau island seamless and so fun. Although it was an incredibly scorching day, having Sinclair as our tour guide made the experience beyond worth it. He had everything planned out and we didn’t have to think about what was next or where to go. Sinclair had such great facts and information about places along the way- it made our trip that much more interesting. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and his warm and easy going personality made all of us feel comfortable. He felt like a great friend to us at the end of the day. I highly recommend having Sinclair as your guide around Hong Kong!
- dy91600Great tourSinclair was a great guide. Very patient with our family and friendly with kids. The tour was fun and ended up seeing some pink dolphins! Thank you Sinclair
- skyjockey9900Extremely pleased - a great tour & guideWe (my youngest son, 23, and I) were very pleased indeed with this tour and with our guide, Mel. We'd done our research and cam up with a hit list, and Mel reviewed that, suggested a few additions and proposed the route, and off we went. Communication before from the company and from Mel were excellent and timely. Mel asked us about our aims for the time we had, and made sure to cover loads of information about culture, history, Hong Kong today - all the tings to give great insight to this amazing place. Mel spoke near perfect English, shared loads of information, gave us ideas on what else we could do in our time there, and showed us how to master the various forms of public transport. I can't think this could have been any better!
- V6625SXmarcm00awesomethe top of the tram looking down to hong kong was gorgeous. Mel did a great job being flexible to our needs and questions. lots of history and fun facts.
- JLTU00Amazing Hong Kong in 7 hoursWe were met at the airport by Mel and taken to our private luxury car and driver - Keith. We had a 7 hour tour, visited some wonderful temples and visited the local markets. Then we visited the harbor and Mel knew the best spots for some great photographs. After some shopping and a visit to the Peninsula Hotel, we had lunch at the top of the tower with fantastic harbor views. It was an amazing 7 hours in Hong Kong. Mel was a great guide with lots of knowledge and Keith was a excellent driver. We always felt safe. If you have limited time in Hong Kong and you want to see a lot in a short period of time with an expert guide/driver then this is the tour for you.
- sdfrd00Great day in Lantau & Tai-OMy husband and I agree that our tour with Mel of Lantau and Tai-O was the highlight of our HK trip. Mel gave us the perfect balance of cultural and historical information while also making the day laid back and enjoyable. Transport was also seamless. We had a bit of extra time as well so he took the time to take us to a local tea shop before we went back to our hotel (though gave us multiple options of what we could do with the extra hour). A great day all around!

If you are searching for an authentic tour around one of Hong Kongs more local neighborhoods, bustling with markets of all sorts, and discovering delicious new cuisine, this is an worthwhile experience. Mel provides great insight on the various markets, and dishes commonly eaten and loved by hongkongers. I personally enjoyed visiting the eastern medicine shops, the Michelin star road, eating savoury treats such as mochi and black sesame cake. The dim sum tasting is unmatched, along with lovely conversation about Sham Sui Po, the cuisine, and the people. I'd recommend this tour for those wanting to know Hong Kong better, to those who are intimidated by the markets, and to those that love history and food!
We finished by the harbor, a wonderful spot to admire the city.

Mel was well-informed and courteous. The Temple and the Kowloon Walled City park were highlights. The street food tour gave us a glimpse of the local cuisine. We enjoyed the tour and learned something about this great city.

Alex was a great tour guide. This tour was a fantastic introduction to Hong Kong for us, especially considering our limited time here. We experienced many places and things that we would otherwise not known existed, and Alex had a great in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong history.
Most of the food was delicious, with one or two things not to our taste, but it was all certainly good quality.
Thanks Alex for being a great host in your beautiful city.

Would have been a wonderful exposition of the seedier side of night life in Kowloon, but for completely rushing through it. Guide (Nicole) meant well;was perky and fairly personable. However she was in such a hurry to check off all the boxes that 1) we couldn't really take in what she was saying 2) we were practically running through the crowds to keep up with her. In fact although it was supposed to be a 4-hour tour, we finished at 3-1/4 hr; no offer to linger or do more, just "Bye now".
I might have been spoiled by the other Hello Kong (day) tour which was much more satisfying, but I felt that this was not up to that standard, and was not worth the $107 per person that we spent.

Discovering hidden treasures and not so hidden ones with Ryan was a great experience for us. Having been in Hong Kong for 4 days already we thought we'd seen most places around Kowloon but Ryan kept us entertained and informed about things we'd never have found ourselves. We said we wanted to see some of the 'real' HK rather than the touristy things and he delivered. A ride on a red mini-bus was an experience in itself and we learnt about the 'no route' policy - glad we didn't do that one on our own! Learning of the Walled City Slum, visiting the now City Park, finding out that what we thought was the Ladies Market we visited the previous day was in fact the disposable market. Ryan then showed us the various markets - the actual Ladies market we'd missed - then the Goldfish marekt, a rare glimpse of reptiles, and then told us the reality of keeping pets in apartments and feng shui and goldfish. We also learnt about the reality in the size of living spaces for most who live in HK- visited the Chungking mansions and learnt of the challenges facing those who come to HK to earn money to send home to families. Then to the Peninsula Hotel to bring home the contrast. What a great 4 hours - learnt more in that time than the 4 days previous. Well worth it and with a guide who has a good heart, great understanding and really listened to what we wanted to do. Plus we had dinner as well. Definitely glad we did this tour.

This tour was really great. Our guide Mel was extremely nice and knowledgeable. We got to learn so much about Lok Fu first than moved into the surrounding areas, The Kowloon Walled City Park, Little Thailand, Mong Kok, and the TST Waterfront. Having a beer and just talking to him about how Hong Kong came to be was one of the highlights of our trip. You cannot go wrong with this tour and hopefully you get Mel, he was really awesome. I would definitely do it again.

If you just want shopping and resting in luxury hotels, you don't need to experience this amazing tour. BUT, if you want to know real Hong Kong life, History, and local culture, this tour is not optional.
We had great tour with great guide Don who is the kindest and the most humorous guide in the world.
One thing I regret is that I should have booked more tours.
Thank you very much, Don. I am sure we meet you again soon.

We met Mel, our guide, at Lok Fu MTR station. He then took us on a very informative walking tour where he explained the history of all of the places we visited, plus answered lots of questions. We visited the Kowloon Walled City Park; Kowloon City; where he showed us lots of traditional businesses, Mong Kok; and we finished by viewing the Symphony of Lights from the Kowloon waterfront. Along the way, we sampled some traditional Chinese and Thai foods, ate dinner at a local Chinese restaurant and even took one of the local minibuses. I would absolutely recommend this tour. Although I have visited Hong Kong several times, I have never really been given an insight into Hong Kong life by a local. Mel is a local who enthusiastically shares his knowledge and makes sure his guests have an amazing experience.
