Ryan was our guide for 7hrs in this tour and Amazing experience with him. Since we meet up with him he started to explain about the Islands in Hong Kong and all the full day itinerary. He always asked us about questions, including Chinese language questions. As we had late lunch we decide to lunch in small local cafe in Tai O and he found us the food we want! He shared with us also additional information about the culture, the airport, the cable car, and local activities. I really had a great day in Lantau and yes we climbed the 256 steps :)
I totally recommend this company for this tours or others excursions., Also it does not matter if you are on cruise ship. They reach out to you by car and then you move in public transport with him which is a great experience

Our tour guide, Stephanie, took us to Lantau to visit the Big Buddha site and the fishermen village Tai O. The places were very interesting, and definetely worth visiting. Stephanie was very knowledgwable, she knew well the history of places we visited and the people who lived there in the past and now, She conveyed the material to us in such a way that made the tour an exciting experience. We could not expect for more!

Mel was an amazing guide! The day was amazing since we arrived early and the Buddha was empty. He provided us with a great cultural experience. The lunch we had was delicious and had a great view. The fishing village was beautiful. The fried sweet Mel bought us was my favorite snack! Thank you very much.

Our family had the best day in Lantau with Sainclair. From the moment we met Sinclair, we knew we were in great hands. He was so knowledgeable, professional and kind. We learned so much from him and enjoyed every aspect of the tour. He knew I loved pictures and was so patient. He knows everything about Hong Kong and we feel truly blessed to have met him. You will love any tour with Sinclair and Lantau is something that should be a must do on your list.

My wife and I spent the day with Amy exploring Lantau Island and all it has to offer. Amy was a fantastic guide who showed us a beautiful side of Hong Kong we never would have experienced on our own. The private tour of Lantau Island was a bit of splurge -- but worth every Hong Kong dollar.

Ryan was a great guide who is knowledgeable about Lantau Island as well as all aspects of life in Hong Kong. He answered questions about everything from local burial customs to public housing. Ryan also knew to allow for snack and bathroom breaks which is crucial for a great guide. The Buddha, Monastery and Tai O were all fascinating and a great day all around.

My wife and I had the pleasure of touring Lantau Island with Mel. This was our first trip to Hong Kong and Lantau Island. Mel met us at our hotel and we spent the day seeing and learning about the Big Buddha and accompanying Monastery, Tai O Fishing Village and lunch at the Lookout Restaurant. It was a special day with an excellent pace set by Mel. There was much to learn and Mel explained all well. We will seek out Hello Hong Kong and Mel on our next visit to Hong Kong. Daryl and Eileen

We had such a brilliant time with our tour guide Mel on this tour, and in the 7 hours we were with him we packed in so many interesting sights and sounds.
The packed day went something like this :
From Tung Chung ( easily accessed from Central HK via MTR ) we took the cable car through Lantau Country Park to Ngong Ping where we saw the construction of the new bridge to Macau / China. We then walked to the base of the Tian Tan Big Buddha where we discussed Buddhism as a philosophy of life, the history and development of the Ngong Ping site and the building of the Big Buddha. Next up,we visited the monastery as well as the Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas ( staggeringly beautiful ) It was good to escape the hot day with a bus journey to Tai O where Mel educated us about the villages old industries of salt industry, fishing and dried seafood. We then took a small boat through the river, a squatter town built on stilts over the water and then sailed out to the sea where we tried to spot but didn't see the pink dolphins who live there . Lunch was a really lovely simple western lunch ( very tasty fish and chips ! ) at Tai O Heritage Hotel ( used to be the Police Station ) and then we ended the day with a walk to the centre of the village where we looked at some old shops in business and visited the Taoist Temple built in1600 which was built for Yueng, the Marquis.
The 7 hours spent with Mel flew by and we really felt that we had had a truly authentic experience of everything this fascinating corner of the world has to offer.

We highly recommend the private all-day tour of Lantau Island from Hello Hong Kong Tours. Our tour guide, Mel, was outstanding. This tour is a great value for how much you see / activities ... and Mel was a pleasure to spend the day with -- both knowledge about the specific tour sites but also overall for Hong Kong. Given the quality of this tour, we would definitely sign up for any other tour with Hello Hong Kong.

My parents and I took a full day tour with Mel to Lantau Island and I must rave that he is a great guide! He took us to places we otherwise would not have known of. It was nice to have a local guide you through public transportation as that can be quite daunting in a foreign country. We learned a lot of interesting history and facts about the area. And most notably, Mel was flexible and quick to adapt to our pace and needs, even making the walking portion of the tour more comfortable for us. He also takes great pictures of you and your group throughout the tour and emails it to you at the end of the day. Couldn’t ask for more!
The tour was a very memorable part of our trip and I highly recommend it!

I really want to visit the Big Buddha but am a little nervous about the 268 steps. I have one weak leg and am afraid I might be to slow ascending. Is it a very difficult ascent? Other than the number of steps.

My husband and I (we're in our 60s) enjoyed the steps up to the Big Buddha. There were some going quicker than others -- and you'd certainly be able to turn around at any point and head down if you decided it was too much. I would give it a try.

The page says "From 352 MYR" but when I select "1 Adult", it jumps to 2.300 MYR - no days have the low price, what is up with that?
is the cable car the one with the crystal floor included in the price?
Lenoj Anthony

Yes, it will be if you choose the crystal floor which is slightly expensive but I think personally it's worth it and a great experience.

I do not want to answer this incorrectly. It would be best to discuss this with Hello Hong Kong tours. I do know that at the Big Buddha there is the ability to take a van to the top instead of the stairs. I am not sure about wheel chair access to the cable car. I hope it works out for you and your wife as this was an amazing day.

I am confused about the price. It says approx £65 on the site but when I add 3 adults the price changes to approx £157? Can you explain this?

Hello, I’m flying in and arrive in November 8th. Do you happen to have airport pickup instead of hotel pickup?
