Delicious food and an hugely informative tour with a friendly, engaging guide!
I had a fantastic time on the Central & Sheung Wan foodie tour, it was certainly one of the highlights of my trip. Our guide Ed was brilliant, giving us tonnes of local insight and interesting conversation, so much so that often it felt like more a chat with mates than an organised tour. This was helped by the fact there was just myself and a lovely German chap on it- so we could just sit and talk round a table, or stop to the side of the road easily when out and about… Ed gave us some great tips on places to visit for the rest of our itineraries. Nothing felt rushed whatsoever, we visited multiple places and took our time over the courses, while Ed told us about everything from the history of the restaurants and families that run them, how the food was made and how best to eat it, through to chat about the history of Hong Kong. Between the food stops, we visited multiple places such as Graham Street Market and Man Mo Temple - where he gave us really interesting insights into these locations, surrounding history and the threats to the traditional aspects of Hong Kong life in the face of widespread development. The tour is clearly very well thought out, where a filling visit to a restaurant was then followed by some walking and smaller snacky things - we ate quite a lot all in all, but it was paced perfectly. The pre-tour admin was really well sorted too, with allergy requirements etc being discussed through WhatsApp. The meeting point was easy to find, and Ed was great in helping us in the right directions for where we wanted to go afterwards. I was attracted to this tour based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and I’m very happy to add to them! I wish I’d done it earlier in my trip as it really boosted my confidence in going into these little food places where the best meals can be found! Definitely make this one of the first things you do when you arrive in Hong Kong, you won’t regret it!

Central & Sheung Wan Foodie Tour with Silvana
A great experience. Silvana was an engaging and friendly guide. All the places we visited were family run and the food was delicious. We also really enjoyed learning more about the history of the neighbourhoods we visited. The tour was well paced and the mix of dishes ideal. I would highly recommend Hong Kong Foodie and will certainly be trying another of their tours the next time we visit Hong Kong.

Great fun even with a baby!
We had a great time with our guide Carrie on the Sham Shui Po tour. We ate a great range of food with interesting walks around the neighborhood to learn about Hong Kong as well as the food. We had our six month old baby in the carrier and he had a great time too- he had tofu pudding and a good look around at every stop. Carrie was very helpful making sure we had space to sit with him and everything we needed.

    Great Foodie Tour
Hong Kong Foodie's Sham Shui Po Foodie tour with Carrie was a highlight of my trip. She was fun and knowledgeable and I learned so much about food and Hong Kong in general. The neighborhood was far away from the usual tourist places which made for an authentic experience. As for the food? Delicious! I even went back to one of the restaurants for my final meal in Hong Kong. Must do!

Great way to learn about the food and culture of hong kong
I was born in HK and left at an early age. I've been to HK about 6 time in my life. I decided to take this tour to understand more about my food and culture and WOW, I was blown a away. My goal was to provide my American son more knowledge about his background and culture. This really hit the spot for us - tour guide was knowledgeable without being a lecturer, the food was a great gateway into hong kong, and the pace of the tour was good. So many interesting tidbits that I learned from the tour that really glimmed an insight in the history and culture of hong kong. Example: a typical person from Hong Kong eats BBQ meats about once every 4 days and from this tour, I know why. We did 6 stops. My son and I were very full by the end of the tour disclosure: i am a relative of the owner of this food tour.

Thanks Cecilia for a wonderful introduction to Hong Kong!
Cecilia was amazing! She took the time to carefully explain the history behind all the eateries we visited and walked us through some of the local traditions. In addition to trying delicious food from family-owned restaurants, we walked around Central and got familiarised with the history of Hong Kong. We even got back to one of the stops we visited the next day to bring some souvenirs home. Could not recommend this tour enough - ideally, you should do it early on in your trip to Hong Kong in order to make the most of your time in the city!

    Just do it.
I actually went on two Foodie Tours: Central, as well as Sham Shui Po. For me, food is one of the biggest parts of travelling, and we went to places that I never would have gone to on my own. It was a great learning experience with knowledgeable people and fantastic food. And as food is such an important component of Hong Kong life, I learned a lot about the city and how it's changing. Very much worth it.

    The World of Tea
If you are interested in Chinese culture, then learning about tea is a must. I was in Hong Kong for two weeks, and this was certainly one of the highlights. Cecilia is very passionate about tea and is talented at sharing her knowledge about this very big subject. The experience has opened up a new world for me, which I'm grateful for. It also made visiting the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware in Hong Kong Park quite fun.

    We went back!
Ed, our amazing, gracious guide was so knowledgeable and gave us so much insight. Not only about the food but about the locals, the area and the way its changing. The food selections were all so delicious, we went back to almost all of the restaurants we visited on the tour for meals later in our trip. Highly recommend.

Fun and delicious way to learn about HK!
This is a great food tour! Ed was our guide and he's amazing. He's really friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. He made sure our entire group was engaged and interested the whole time. Each stop featured food that was both delicious and relevant to Hong Kong. As first-timers, this was a great way to get the basics of the city's food and culture. Ed shared information beyond just food, which was helpful and much appreciated. I think this is a great way to spend an afternoon as you are both eating and learning at the same time. Great experience!

We live in Hong Kong and decided to do this tour to learn about a different neighbourhood in the city. Carrie was such an excellent guide - we learnt so much, not just about the food and local restaurants, but also about the history of the neighbourhood and family run businesses in the area. This was such a great experience that we will absolutely highly recommend to any of our visitors to the city.

Absolutely fantastic experience. I was by myself and ended up being the only person on the tour, and while this could have been awkward it never was. Kari (I'm so sorry if that's the wrong spelling!) was an excellent guide, and I really appreciated all the extra information about Hong Kong she included, besides just what was relevant to the food. And the food was great! It was a good way to try foods/restaurants that I might've been too intimidated by otherwise.

A fascinating tour around a local neighborhood. We got not only to taste very traditional dishes, but also talk to the charming owners and watch them preparing the dishes in their tiny kitchens. We walked through markets, with our delightful guide pointing out interesting items and explaining some of their history. We even got to see some knife sharpening in the back workshop of the kitchen utensil shop. Highly recommended as an authentic insight into real Hong Kong living.

We’ve been to Hong Kong many times but this was our first visit post Covid and we wanted to try something different. We’re glad we chose to do this food tour. Our guide Carrie was great. She navigated us through the streets of Sham Shui Po and provided interesting insights into the neighbourhood’s history, leading us to local eateries that showcased the city’s rich culinary heritage. We particularly enjoyed the steamed rice rolls, the soy bean curd dessert and the dumplings, delicious and true local flavours. Thank you for the memorable experience. We look forward to doing another food tour with Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tour on our next trip.

I had a blast today enjoying all the yummy food and interesting stories at Sham Shui Po. Even though I had been to HK for many times, but today's trip made me appreciate the generations of hardships and relationships. It made me learn about the life of the HK local people and how they helped one another through difficult times. Thank you my tour guide, Cecilia for this exclusive tour. Appreciate your professionalism to give me the most valuable experience! Did 3.5 hours just flew by! Oh my gosh.. didn't even realise that. :)

Sham Shu Po foodie tour was fantastic. I thought I knew ‘the po’ as a resident who adores zipping in to check out fabric, beads, and all things crafty. Wow, was I wrong. There was so much good food that I was walking by! Looking forward to my next Hong Kong Foodie Tour (Tai Po, here I come :).
