- Trail3058439813800Absolutely Amazing Experience With Even Better FoodThe tour from the start was amazing , got greeted by a very enthusiastic tour guide called Ivy. We then throughout the morning learnt so much about the food and culture. The food places we got taken were out of this world. Not sure many words can describe it. When you think of Michelin star restaurants you seriously do not think theses could ever be from first look but my god theses were some of the best restaurants I have ever had food in. Felt so welcome within the locals at every restaurant where our great tour guide looked after us so well making sure we tried everything we could imagine. Me and my partner had our expectations blown out the water from this tour. 10/10 for food , 10/10 for our tour guide. We couldn’t recommend this enough.
- jessicacP3492DL00Incredible and unique food tourThis was definitely the most extensive food tour I have been on. We tried so much delicious food and also got to learn about the history and culture of Hong Kong! Mel was a great guide, and he really went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great experience. Not to mention basically every stop was Michelin recommended… Cannot recommend this tour enough!
- beatah51500Fabulous food tour on Hong Kong IslandWe have just returned from a holiday to Hong Kong and one of the highlights of the trip was our food tour with Mel. Mel was a wonderful guide: he is engaging, professional and knowledgeable, and he made the tour very entertaining and interesting for our 7 year old and 11 year old daughters. Despite having lived in Hong Kong previously, we saw a side of the local food culture with Mel that we had never experienced before. After touring some local dried seafood and local medicine shops (our brief to Mel was "the more unusual the better"), we stopped at a tea shop where we enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony. We then moved on to a barbecue meat restaurant to try an assortment barbecue meats, noodles, rice and local drinks. Mel then found a couple of stores specialising in desserts requested by our daughters: egg waffles and egg tarts - both were delicious! We walked through a traditional wet market showcasing very fresh produce and ended at a Michelin-rated dim sum restaurant which served wonderful dumplings and another dish that our girls wanted to try, chicken feet. All in all, this food tour was a thoroughly enjoyable way to experience a more authentic Hong Kong. We would highly recommend Mel and the tour to anyone!
- anne39000A fast paced look at KowloonWe saw a lot of Kowloon in half a day with Alex. From fresh air markets and food stalls to the bright lights of Victoria harbor there were lots of sights and a few tasty bites. Alex knows a ton about the history and politics of the city and gave us a good overview of the contest between the riches and reality of Hong Kong.
- 502mitchn00HK 4 Hr tourSinclair was great, and we got a real taste of Hong Kong despite the rain. We were able to see highlights, and had just enough time to squeeze this in during a business trip. Loved it!
- 66rustina00Great Food & Great PeopleAn amazing tour. Food was great and Sinclair was just a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Im so glad I did this tour.
- geraldc38800Great food Large portions.I’ve done food tours all over the world and this one is the absolute best. Mel was a great guide and personally knew the people in most of the Michelin Guide locations. Bring stretchy pants because this one will leave you full.
- Sojourner7100Great Snapshot of HKSinclair was on the dot to meet us at the hotel at the time we had scheduled. He has a pleasing and friendly demeanor and is very informative. He was receptive to what we wanted from the tour and was happy to take us accordingly. We got an overview of HK and we enjoyed our time with Sinclair. He was always checking in to make sure that we were ok and enjoying ourselves. Would highly recommend Sinclair !!Only downside was that the tour itself is a bit on the pricey side
- C1695SYjohnc00Great introduction to an amazing city.Alex was a great tour guide. This tour was a fantastic introduction to Hong Kong for us, especially considering our limited time here. We experienced many places and things that we would otherwise not known existed, and Alex had a great in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong history. Most of the food was delicious, with one or two things not to our taste, but it was all certainly good quality. Thanks Alex for being a great host in your beautiful city.
- bradley a00Worth itSinclair was great. In addition to the food tour he explained interesting facts about Hong Kong. He also took great pics of us. Highly recommend
- 813aprillem00Best food trip tourWe had an amazing food experience as we get to have a taste of the authentic food in Hongkong. Learnt also about culture, tradition , and history of each restaurant we visited. Our tour guide Sinclair is very warm and friendly. He is so passionate in what he does and does extra mile to assist us especially that we didnt have the octopus card :) Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.
- bronwynf8100An excellent food tourFantastic tour with Mel. We saw and tried the best local food, his knowledge is excellent and the experience was really well thought-out. Highly recommend.
- MichelleL734000Great culinary journeyThe small group Hong Kong island food tour was a great culinary journey. The dim sum was a delightful assortment of dumplings, spring rolls and rice rolls, each bursting with unique flavors. The flaky and sweet egg tart left a lasting impression, and the wanton noodles were perfectly balanced in taste and texture. The rich and aromatic milk tea was a refreshing treat, especially under the scorching hot sun. Riding the iconic tram added a charming touch to the tour. Our food tour guide Sinclair’s knowledge of local cuisine and history added depth to the experience. Overall, the tour provided a fantastic blend of traditional flavours and cultural exploration.
- 859micheley00Can’t imagine the day without Sinclair!Sinclair made our trip to Tai O & Lantau island seamless and so fun. Although it was an incredibly scorching day, having Sinclair as our tour guide made the experience beyond worth it. He had everything planned out and we didn’t have to think about what was next or where to go. Sinclair had such great facts and information about places along the way- it made our trip that much more interesting. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and his warm and easy going personality made all of us feel comfortable. He felt like a great friend to us at the end of the day. I highly recommend having Sinclair as your guide around Hong Kong!
- dy91600Great tourSinclair was a great guide. Very patient with our family and friendly with kids. The tour was fun and ended up seeing some pink dolphins! Thank you Sinclair

On our first of five days in Hong Kong, our guide Agnes showed us and told us about so many things to do and places to see. Hong Kong is like three Manhattans, which we love, and we are excited to follow up on Agnes's many suggestions. Plus, she is a charming young lady who was a pleasure to interact with, and her English is superb.

We were only in HK for 28 hours, so we booked this tour to get the most out of our time. Our guide was Ryan and he was excellent. He arrived on time for our tour, explained what we would be doing and asked if there was anything else we'd like to add. It was so customized to our needs. We took the boat, tram, subway, ding ding, etc. We ate local delicacies, learned about history and saw some amazing sights. It was the absolute best use of our time and I highly recommend the tour. Thank you so much Ryan for making our time in Hong Kong memorable!

My husband and I did a half day layover tour with Mel. He was a wonderful guide and gave us great information about the history and culture of Hong Kong. The visit to Victoria Peak is a must, with a beautiful panorama view of the city. We also squeezed in lunch at a Michelin star dim sum restaurant, Tim Ho Wan. Overall, I highly recommend Hello Hong Kong.

Mel was an excellent tour guide. When we first met in lobby of our hotel, he asked us what it is we wanted to get out of the tour and if we had particular interests, etc. from our responses he made several suggestions as to how he’d like to approach our tour. He then asked us how we would like to proceed. It’s so refreshing when you get to do a tour based on your individual input. Mel was extremely knowledgeable and was able to asnswer our questions. He also had a good sense of humor which we greatly appreciated.

We were a group of five Australian women, some had been to Hong Kong many times before and knew it well so we wanted to have a tour that covered places not on the usual track. We were also interested in the history and the culture and although we love food we knew a lot about where to eat so didn't need to go to the eating spots.
Don, did really well with us. Meeting all our requests, keeping us moving and answering our questions along the way. We were all tried but happy that we had found ourselves in. places that we would never have heard of with out him and this is why we choose to do a private tour. We were very lucky with the weather perfect walking temp but even so when we were tiring Don quietly slowed the pace to give us a rest and then up and off again. We particularly loved the follow up email with information about where we had been as they weren't places you would normally find.

My 16 year old and I had a fantastic customized tour of Kowloon with Nicole! It was our first day in HK and it was an ideal way to get to know the city. We learned so much and enjoyed our time immensely. We then scheduled another tour for a later day and this time we were introduced to Mel as Nicole was not available. Mel was an amazing guide as well! We spent all of our time on Hong Kong Island visiting historical sites, restaurants, and local shops and learning so much. In between the 2 tours, we spent a few days on our own and were able to navigate much easier with the help from Hello Hong Kong's guide that they provide to people who have taken their tours. I highly recommend Hello Hong Kong and both Nicole and Mel. A custom or group tour will give you a different perspective of the city that you can't get from a website or guidebook.

If you want to see Hong Kong with someone who knows it from the point of view of a native of Hong Kong but understanding of English speakers who have never been there, ask for a tour with Kate at Hello Hong Kong. I feel so very bad about months having gone by without me writing reviews of our trip to Hong Kong and southeast Asia, especially this one. Kate has lived her whole life in Hong Kong but her parents are Australian expats (and our age), so we felt like we were with a patient daughter answering all of our questions about history, culture, and politics. She was also terrific in planning a tour and adapting it as we went along which gave us the overview of Hong Kong we wanted with an emphasis on our interests -- eager to see lots of temples, interested in architecture and history, wanting food recommendations, not into shopping (well, not my husband). She also patiently showed us how to use all forms of public transportation, something we like doing but so much better with someone to show us how at the beginning. Kate is relaxed, charming, and so knowledgeable about Hong Kong and its complicated culture and politics.
Hello Hong Kong was very easy to communicate with and very responsive to what we wanted.

Really enjoyed Stephanie and how she made the tour tailored to what our interests were. We sent an email ahead of time and she was well prepared for where to take us. She was considerate and informative, giving us a great history of the area and how it has influenced current day Hong Kong. What an interesting city and tour!

When I go through the process of determining the price of the private custom tour it seems to always spike up from $64.51 to well over $100 per person. I don't understand why the gap is so great. Perhaps the low price does exist I just can't ever seem to find it. Maybe the time I am trying to book is a high demand time? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

It is based on how many people are getting the tour. If you are traveling in a small group, it will be cheaper person than if there are only one or two of you.
