This is a hike for experienced walkers/hikers in good health. We travel the world and do most of our site seeing walking around and even we were sore for days after this hike. We have never gotten a guide before and while he was great, probably wouldn’t do it again. If you are in a large group and/or not comfortable walking without actually having a plan or knowing where you'll end up then I highly recommend getting a guide. The views along this hike are breathtaking and it ends at the beach. It was well worth the few days of approaching stairs with utter disdain!

We were so happy to find Wild Hong Kong to balance the urban experience of Hong Kong with walks in nature. Booking was really straightforward and Rory replied to emails quickly and efficiently. We actually did 2 days of trekking - the Dragons Back and Sai Kung Wild Beaches. Our guide for both was Jesse who was really fantastic. He chatted easily with the whole group (we were a small group for Dragons Back and just our family for Sai Kung. Jesse was brought up in Hong Kong so knows it very well and was happy to recommend other activities and restaurants etc. He was very patient with our very talkative 12 year old and interested and interesting for our 15 year old. The treks themselves were fantastic - really good to get out of Hong Kong and experience its very special setting. The rock jump into pool below was highlight of the whole trip for our children. My husband was unable to join the treks due to a back problem but Rory Kindly reimbursed us with no question. We would highly recommend Wild Hong Kong

I had a really fantastic day hiking the Dragon's Back Trail. We had some great views and ended the hike at Big Wave Beach where we had a beer and watched some of the surfers. Wild Hong Kong was a great company to go with as the groups are small in size, the guides are nice and informative, and the booking process was easy. I had a perfect day getting out of the city for some hiking!

Dragon's back trail is easily reached by public transportation. Take the Blue line to Shau Kei Wan and the bus #9A to "To Tei Wan Village. Trail head is across the street as are toilets. The trail is easy to follow, well maintained, and has benches, picnic tables and some shelter along the way. The initial climb is uphill with many stone steps and uneven surfaces, but we didn't encounter anything too difficult. Since we started mid afternoon, we only went to the point where we could see the other side of the mountain and then went back to the bus stop. However you can go further and return from a different bus stop.We enjoyed the walk very much and highly recommend to those who enjoy a beautiful walk.
