    Over priced experience.
This is a very over priced experience which we didn’t enjoy. Firstly it’s very slow and when you get off at a stop your told you can be picked up an hour later but we waited 1hr n 10 mins to be picked up. We tried to pick up at another stop but one didn’t show so ended up getting a taxi! Surely it would be better if there was more buses running. Also the ferry included wasn’t explained well when we went to use it we thought it went lantau island but it just goes from Hong Kong island pier to main land, so didn’t get to use it! Don’t waste your money!

    Did not find the bus.
Did not find the bus, however, I was at the pick up place before 7.00 pm:( I waited till 7.20 pm and then left. Maybe there is some change in the bus schedule or the pick up location?

A great way to see Hongkong
I love the Big Bus Company - my 'go to' place when I am in a strange city to get a feel for the place. We booked a 48 hour ticket which we got for a 50% seasonal reduction (watch out for promotions, they are worth having). There are three routes, there is one which takes you out to Stanley, Aberdeen Harbour, Repulse Bay, another one through the Financial District and another route through Kowloon.. There are a lot of stops to hop off to go for a walk. If you get off at Aberdeen Harbour, watch out for their sampan to take you round the harbour. We also had a free ticket to Sky 100, the tallest building in Hongkong. There were lots of freebies included, you are spoilt for choice: Sky 100 (you would pay app HK $ 180 for the ticket), two return tickets on the star ferry, reduced coffee in Starbucks near the Star Ferry, reduced entrance fees. It's a great way to experience HK at your own pace.

Great Layover Activity to see the City
What a great way to spend a 15 hour lay over in Hong Kong! We stopped in Hong Kong on our way to Vietnam. And I'm so glad that we did. Hong Kong is such an awesome place, even from the little bit that I experienced (can't wait to come and visit Hong Kong specifically) we did the one tours of the Old Town Central tour with a Peak Tram Sky Pass. It was really a great way to be able to explore and learn about the city. The audio is very detailed and informative and the stops are awesome! Luckily the Big Bus Sightseeing starting point is right by the IFC Mall which is connected to the International airport by train, so it makes it the perfect activity to do, and the easiest way to explore a city you haven't really done much research on. Definitely worth doing while in Hong Kong, especially during a long lay over from the airport.

The only way to get an overview of the city.
While we were given a two day pass for the cost of one day (business was seriously down because of the corona virus scare and the demonstrations), we only used one of the days. But it was of the downtown core and did give us an overview of the city and the multiple businesses that reside in its center. Everyone was wearing masks, so it put a damper on our normal explorations. Even with that, we were happy we went for the one day (we were leaving the next day and would be busy packing, etc).

    Everything was well organised!.
I did the two-day Hop On Hop Off package including visits to the the Victoria Peak on Hong Kong island and the Sky100 Observation Deck in Kowloon, for 679 Hong Kong Dollars or about 80 euros all-in. For me, it was a great and exciting way to rediscover Hong Kong, after not being here for more than 11 years.

    Enjoyable and informative walk
Our guide Monica showed us around the highlights of Honk Kong explaining the history and points of interest along the route. There was plenty of time for photos and to ask questions. The ticket price included the opportunity to try a local food and drink

Not enough buses on green line
Bought a classic one day ticket for 2 of us. Used the red line, in and around Hong Kong first of all, started at the Pier area and sat on it all the way round. Commentary on ear phones worked fine, limited facts and a lot of repetitive music. The bus goes fast when it can and is very slow around the central area. Got off at the pier to be told the next green line bus (Stanley & Repulse Bay) was 1/2 hour away. Had a coffee and returned to be told it wasn’t for another hour as there was a procession. So we got a taxi out to Repulse Bay, didn’t see any processions! Had a lovely lunch and waited for over an hour at the stop for the bus to arrive. Had downloaded the app which is supposed to show where the buses are. Not working. Had 3 increasingly irritating phone calls with control asking where the bus was. Eventually it arrived. The problem is there is no competition. So do it if you want, just don’t get off, you might have a long wait. My complaint was deal with by a sudden inability to understand English!

    Terrible - don’t do it!
Blatant cash-grab with appalling service. I don’t recommend this company at all.I wouldn’t do this tour again - I would just take taxis (cheap in HK) to the specific locations I want to see. Also, the red tourist bus in the city is free of charge to hop-on hop-off. Avoid this Big Bus tour - it’s really terrible.

    Comfortable tour
We booked the tour to Aberdeen and the Hong Kong Island route. From the upper deck you have a good view and can do sightseeing in comfort. Especially the tour to Aberdeen was a positive surprise. Sandy beach and lots of green. Comfortable boarding point at the Ferry Terminal. During our visit we were practically the only guests and due to the protests unfortunately not all tours were carried out for safety reasons.

Great way to see Hong Kong
We did red line then green then across harbour to blue line - great way to get an overview in one day. Would say relative to others the commentary was bit sparse could have had more history and details. Also at 45 minutes apart the bus frequency would be better more often. But overall highly recommended

Great way to explore a new city...
Always a great way to find your beatings when in a new city. Bought the 24 hr ticket that was perfectly timed over 2 days. Spent the first day exploring Hong Kong Island, day 2 was spent wandering around Stanley market( an absolute must when in Hong Hong. Unfortunately the Kowloon route was suspended at the time of our trip.

Disappointing service... but walking tour was great
I bought deluxe ticket which is valid 2 days and has some additional excursions. Unfortunately, due to protests blue line wasn’t working (I tried to find bus stops-failed), I got this information only at the reception desk- no email after buying the ticket. Also night excursion was cancelled 😕 no reimbursement or replacement at all. I was upset. Though the guide of the walking excursion was great. Very experienced and pleasant. Knows a lot about history! I recommend to buy only his excursion.

Paid for Deluxe package then found out Kowloon tours arent operating
I was very disappointed to have paid for a deluxe 2 day ticket then discovered that the Kowloon (Blue Line) buses werent running due to the protests. Wish they had of warned me before I handed over the $$$. The tours and extras were very good. Myself and other guests stood around at Pier 7 and despite there being 5 company employees and 2 buses standing there it took 15 mins for staff to work out what time the green bus was leaving, I desperately needed to go to the toilet across the road but had to hang around until someone could work it out, it seemed to be very disorganised on that particular day.

We purchased tickets from a Big Bus sales lady by the ferry and she was very helpful.
We crossed on the ferry and due to lack of signage missed the bus and had to wait another 45 minutes for the next one.
Once we boarded the bus the driver must have been an ex formula 1 driver which was no mean feat around the streets.
Our biggest problem was trying to locate the hop on hop off points, the pamphlet wasn’t that helpful and there’s no signage all they have is a small portable sign on the sidewalk.
When we finally found it we met lots of other passengers that had the same experience.😡

Highly recommend this fascinating tour of the fishing harbour and floating habitations including visit to a museum boat.

Disappointed with the bus tour as buses left the starting point full and we ended up stranded on two occasions when the bus was full and we couldn't re-board during the tour. Also note the one hour gap between buses on the green route. More buses and a more frequent service urgently needed and a limit on daily ticket sales in the meantime until this is sorted.

Dear Rachel, Thank you for sharing your review on our bus tour and highlighting the fabulous sampan tour option. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the experience,. Meanwhile, we understand your disappointment when you were unable to re-board the bus due to high passenger traffic. This is not the level of service we strive to provide, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We also acknowledge the one-hour gap between buses on the Green route, which has resulted in unsatisfactory waiting times. We recognize the importance of a more frequent service and are actively working to address this issue. We will review our scheduling and capacity management to ensure a more efficient and convenient service for our passengers. We greatly appreciate your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with improved services in the future. Best regards, Samantha

While I found the package quite pricey (48 hours offer better value), I must say you do get a lot for your money.

Of the two day routes, I especially liked the green stanley line as it offered a unique tour of Hong Kong island far, from the busy bustling city. The red route was the more traditional experience of what you would expect of Hong Kong.

The inclusion of the Star Ferry was a nice touch.

Would like to see a live tour guide on your buses next time, just like what you do in other countries. With the price paid, I hoped it was included.

Overall all the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Compared to other city tours I have done, this was poor. Infrequent buses with lots of waiting around and one bus route out of three each day didn't operate. Better and much cheaper to use public transport.

Perfect way to see Hong Kong. The bus tour offers flexibility to jump on and off as you desire to explore Hong Kong. Best value was the 48 flexible ticket.

Most memorable part was at the end of the day when we needed to get the Ferry back to Central. At 4.30pm on a Saturday it was jam packed with people. We were looking at a long wait to get the ferry but luckily Ped from the Big Bus Tours helped us push through hundreds of people to get to the front and on the ferry. What a champion.

While not cheap this is a good way to see quite a distance in hong kong. There are 3 routes - kowloon, hong kong island and stanley. The stanley route is definately worthwhile as you see a completely side to hong kong. The service is not a great hop on/hop off service as buses only run every 45 to 60 minutes and when you get back to the beginning the bus sits for at least half an hour before commencing again. Best to think of as 3 tours. You can use their app to track where buses are but we never use our data whilst travelling and rely on free wi-fi

Taking an extended lay over in Hong Kong provided an opportunity to taste the culture and experience Hong Kong . Despite the protests taking place, the sight seeing busses provided a safe and informative tour. The tour busses need to keep pace wth traffic and this results in glimpses of some of the sights however there is ample ability to hop off and wa about. The Staff are able to suggest the best tour to take and schedule to catch the next bus. The Star Ferry connects well with the Red, Blue and Green lines - we took the cable car up the mountain and toured Stanley market. This was great value and allowed me to get some great photos.

Debacle - from start to finish. What a total nightmare. Booked in the shop at Star Ferry, the woman in the centre had no idea what she was doing - it was a clear as mud were we were allocated and we repeatedly asked about each day. Gave two tickets for the ferry as part of the deal. Did the red route in day one and green route on day two. Went to get on again to visit the temple and was told we hadn’t paid. 20 minutes later, showing credit card receipts etc we were let on. Dreadful service in the office and the terrible service at the dock. All drivers were really good and when it works it’s well worth the money.

It was a wet day which didn’t help, but the overall experience was not up to standard.
Firstly, the frequency of buses on the green route was one bus every hour, the idea behind hoho buses is to be able to get on and off at the the stops to investigate the areas, however with 4 stops on the green route, if you stoped at each of the very interesting areas, The peak tramway entry at the base of the railway, Repulse bay, Stanley and Aberdeen, and had to wait an hour for a minimum of an hour for a bus to the next stop, it would take in excess of 4 hours, and that would not enable you to take the tram to the top of the peak and then take it again to the bottom of the peak which on a busy day could take 1.5 hours.
Secondly there are no published times for any of the stops, yes you are able to see where the buses are but not everyone has access to a smart phone.
However all is not lost as there are numerous local buses available to get you between the stops for a fraction of the price of the Big Useless Bus.
Not a good experience, not value for money.

Dear Martin, We are sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Big Bus Tours Hong Kong. We understand that the frequency of buses on the Green route was a major concern for you, as it limits the flexibility of being able to explore the different stops at your own pace, and there may not be sufficient time to explore every attraction along the route. We will strive to increase our capacity and bus frequency to address this issue. We will also review to provide timetables to ensure a convenient experience for all passengers. We appreciate your suggestion of using the public transportation system as a more cost-efficient way to transfer between points. While public transport may indeed be a viable option for some, we would like to emphasize that our service provides a curated and comprehensive experience with audio commentary, ensuring that our customers do not miss out on any important sights or attractions. Your feedback is important to us, and we will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services. We are committed to ensuring that our customers can fully enjoy what our city has to offer. Once again, we appreciate your feedback and thank you very much for sharing your views with us. It was convenient, staff were friendly and helpful. However, when you calculate the price of all the tickets to the sights (star ferry, observatory deck, tram to VP etc.) it’d still work out cheaper to go by yourself than big bus. If you’re not price conscious and want to see a lot of sights by bus, then go for it. Just make sure you don’t go on a public holiday, otherwise the bus will stop running earlier by a couple hours.

Dear Ginny H, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're glad to hear that you found our services convenient and our staff helpful. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the benefits of our ticket offerings. Our tickets provide a 24-hour (for Discover and Essential tickets) or 48-hour (for Esse ntial + Sampan and Explore tickets) hop-on-hop-off service, which allows you to explore various sights and attractions at your own pace. The premium ticket options with attractions and longer validity for hop-on-hop-off is more cost effective compared to purchasing the attractions individually. We run at normal operating hours during ordinary weekends and public holidays, except that there is early finish on 24, 25, 31 Dec (Christmas and New Year Eve) and 9-11 Feb 2024 (Lunar New Year) due to road closures. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your feedback, which helps us improve our services. If you have any further questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
